Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) = #5

Ok it is not new, intellectual, academy award winning, but it made me giggle (whether deliberately by the director or not) so giving it a "fresh" score. However the end (absolute end) of the credits scared me, does that mean Pirates 6?!

Almost bailed after 10 minutes glad I stayed. Basically this movie is Seinfeld crossed with Philip Marlowe.   There is  an actress (Ava Acres) playing a character in Handsome who has the humor and gravitas of Winona Ryder (as character Lydia in the movie Beetlejuice). The actors were all good while still having fun with their roles. Impressed with Jeff Garlin, I did not know that he could direct.  Hope he does more (maybe make up for a certain famous actor with the initials A.S. who has a 6 picture deal with this streaming service).

Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2

I loved this movie. I have only seen it once, but intend to see it multiple times. It was worth the 3D price. This movie answered so many questions (1) Nebula's sister issues with Gamora (2) Why Ego left and never returned (3) Why Yondu kept Peter Quill (4) Explanation of The Living Planet and more. While I did like the soundtrack, to me, it was not as compelling as volume 1 soundtrack.
