Han Solo Discussion
(filming in progress)
Lord and Miller fired--Ron Howard hired as director
June 26, 2017

The backstory of the Han Solo film would probably be best understood by corporate finance analysts or psychologists with expertise in communication. The primary culprits in this saga seem to be money and miscommunication. I am not sure what the final version of this film will be like, only that the explanations by countless experts posting reviews may turn out to be more intriguing than the film itself.

Transformers Discussion

(Transformers: The Last Knight = #5) June, 2017

Admittedly am not a Transformers fan (saw first one, fourth one and maybe the second one??), but I look forward to the reviews. The emotions ranging from baffled to horrified matched with chaotic plot descriptions are priceless. So...thank you Michael Bay?

De-Lovely
(2004)
seen on Amazon Prime 06-20-2017

Good, well-acted, but poignant in a kind of wistful way. Soundtrack...obviously superior considered the source material. Lots of fun spotting cameo-singers.
Cars franchise (3 movies as of this post)

June 19, 2017

I almost think that the Cars franchise is a covert alien (space not terran) conspiracy to make us crazier. Consider their mouths,-do they eat, trucks-why are they hollow, where are humans-were they car creators, holidays--is there a Christmas and if so why/how, do they consider repairs as transplants? It is kind of like letting loose a fractal in viral format into your brain. Now I have a headache ;)

Havenhurst (2016)
1 hour 20 minutes
Seen on Netflix 06/12/17

My rating: one star

Decent acting, good editing, but a really bad plot with a conclusion not worth this film's running time.

Wonder Woman (2017)

DC/Warner

As of one viewing (3D), I enjoyed this movie. However, I was so relieved and surprised that I actually found a DC film competently written, directed and acted may have increased my enthusiasm. Even if time lowers my score slightly, this is a good movie.

It was well scored with the music doing the job of emphasizing the action on the screen.

A problem that I have with movies in general is that all the teasers, ads, trailers, discussions, expectations and predictions can impact viewer experience. I tried soooo hard to avoid spoiling elements, but knew who the main villain was and the name of the actor portraying that villain. As a result, when the actor first appeared on screen, it was a buzz-kill.

This movie held my attention, allowed me to find the characters believable (whether they be gods, Amazons or humans). The final fight scene is predictable and very CGI. Excluding a few (ending scene) lines of Ares dialogue/CGI, this was a solid, entertaining movie which I so far have seen twice. Just a minor complaint to DC/Warner for a silly reason...no extra scenes/stinger ;)
