DECEMBER 2022

While it may look like Jones is the sane one in this Kanye West interview, think again.     https://www.texastribune.org/2022/10/12/alex-jones-sandy-hook-shooting/

Jones literally cannot afford to cross any defamation lines.  Yeah forget ethics, intelligence, information, history, but money is something Mr. Jones will not forget.

Posted to Rachel Maksy (RE: 1800's Books of Etiquette) uploaded to You Tube 12/02/2022

Rachel is correct, those books are exhausting. Makes a 2 year quarantine that I recently participated in seem like a vacation. However in several weeks, I will be attending a large (couple hundred souls) New Years' eve party. I am bringing my phone and an extra battery so it is obvious my social engagement with my peers will be stellar and on point.🀣

Posted to Dan Murrell (RE: Review of Violent Night) uploaded to You Tube 12/02/2022

That was a beautiful poem by Dan...oops I mean Santa. While I am not big on gore, any time of the year, this movie does look like fun no matter what your beliefs are at this time of the year.

Posted to Pretty Pastel Please (RE: thrifting) uploaded to You Tube 12/04/2022

Alex looks so cheery and happy. I came to this channel as a subscriber years ago for; clothing that I did not wear (pastels) a bird that my cat would never have allowed in my home, a view to a country not native to me and happiness that did not come naturally to me. So am still here, still watching and definitely still on board for the journey.♥

Posted to A Charming Abode (RE: Pottery Barn vs. HomeGoods Christmas table) uploaded 12/05/2022

I am dividing my vote up. I preferred the Pottery Barn table decor BUT with the magical (as I have not yet mastered this craft) tree-folded silvery napkins from HomeGoods. It might be cute if a mint or chocolate wrapped in silvery paper was slightly "inserted" into one of the folds. Oh and no need to worry about making conversation. I am willing to bet that some of the guests would be interested in a tutorial so have extra napkins on hand.

Posted to Gold Shaw Farm (RE: Case of the Missing Tractor Bucket) uploaded to You Tube 12/05/2022

My top list of suspects involved unfettered You Tube fans (I apologize). The actual culprit is often the one close to you, isn't it? I have done the same with a smaller thing,  lost it, re-purchased it on Amazon, gone to put it away and magically have the "lost" item reappear. I have to admit, I have never lost something that weighed in the 4-figures. Well unless one counts the car that I parked on level 3 of large parking garage insisting to my companions that it was on level 4. Basically took a mutiny to actually locate the vehicle.

Posted to Abby Cox (RE:  Gift Ideas) Uploaded to You Tube 12/05/2022

That was fun and informative. While I enjoyed seeing both new and familiar faces with really good ideas, Bernadette Banner made me laugh. We yearn for what we cannot easily acquire. I recently went to a comic con, I screamed (no one hears you scream in the merch section of a comic con) when I located a source for rare and new-to-me Japanese snacks. The shop owner kept trying to total my order. I kept saying just one more thing. Anyway Bernadette, I understand the NEED for international snacks.

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Britney Spears on her birthday) Uploaded to You Tube 12/05/2022

I thought that this was an excellent reading. There are no concise answers from the reading as the main character in this reading has not progressed to that point. The conservatorship went on so long, too long. Even being legally freed from its domination, she is like someone rescued from an island or woken from a coma. It will take her a while to catch up to what she should have become.

Posted to John Campea (RE: Review of "Wednesday") Uploaded to You Tube 12/07/2022

I did not even know it was out. I was doing my typical search on Netflix to find hidden gems as this streaming service seems to follow an odd mission statement of inserting unique, quirky and intriguing content with seemingly no PR (at least that reached me). I sat down intending to watch one episode. By 6am, I had binged it all. I loved it! Adding humor within an intelligently written script to science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, whatever genre and I am so in. I highly recommend this series. Even knowing nothing about Charles Addams or his graphic comic or any video format material, is not necessary but knowing some background does add extra spice. While Jenna Ortega was the standout, I also thought Christina Ricci's role was amazingly funny and well-acted.

Posted to Breakfast All Day (RE: News of The Week) Uploaded to You Tube 12/09/2022

I wish the word fan would connect to something fantastic not fanatic. And that is why I am not on Twitter. I finally saw "Three Thousand Years of Longing". I loved it so much I added its main theme (Cautionary Tale) to my playlist. When Christy and Kate Walsh reviewed it, I think that Christy's rating was a "disappointed" 5.5? I want to state here that I still respect both critics (and of course Alonso!) and look forward to their reviews. I realize that I am preaching to the choir but everyone needs to chill out and rage against things that threaten one's life. However, the idea of fans of George Miller's "Mad Max series" walking into Three Thousand... without knowing its themes does make me giggle admittedly somewhat like a troll.πŸ˜‰

Posted to Emily D. Becker (RE: Lawyer Reacts - December 8 2022) uploaded to you tube 12/08/2022

I agree that TikTok assembling data is a problem (also looking at you M.Z.@FB). Even worse is TikTok tracking political dissidents (local or international in origin of citizenship). However a TikTok challenge that involves destruction of school property (ironically paid for by their parents' taxes) to me points out an adolescent who has fallen through the cracks of the educational and medical systems. I highly doubt that the well-adjusted, earning decent grades, following parental curfew rules woke up that morning, looked at TikTok and then proceeded to go to school to rip out the sink in a school bathroom.

Posted to The Behavior Panel (RE: Will Smith interview by Trevor Noah) You Tube 12/10/2022

Will Smith is an excellent actor. He has used "you know" in past interviews. The repetitive use of that phrase in this interview does seem unusual, even if deliberately used as a delaying technique. The Oscar telecast of March 27 2022 was no one's cookout (using Mr. Noah's analogy). This event was broadcast live and transmitted globally. I agree with Mark Bowden, the best/fastest way for Mr. Smith to return to his pre-March 2022 image is to give a clear, brief and final response to the question, "Why?" When Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock, he not only lost his judgement and reputation that night, he also lost his right to privacy as any of us would as the aggressor in this situation.

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Netflix episodes 1-3 of Harry and Meghan) You Tube 12/10/2022

Both wounded, both stuck in a child-like narcissism due to events in their early years. Both wanted a change. I was not surprised when Harry married an "outsider" I use the term "outsider" to categorize Meghan's nationality and lack of royal connections who would probably have trouble dealing with her new family. With a 5 second search Meghan could have read reams of data on the Windsors. Neither Harry or Meghan did their homework before marriage. However now, again like young children, they are not sure they have what they want. Fame and royal treatment or quiet and comfortable anonymity, they do not know. FULL DISCLOSURE: I did not watch these first 3 episodes on Netflix. I do admit to watching their full Oprah interview. As Harry & Meghan now have two young children, I hope these 2 "adults" will grow...up for their family's sake. Money permitting (I believe Harry has a book deal😧) they should try to retire into something that is hopefully not interesting to social and news media. We all need some rest.

Posted to A Charming Abode (RE: Dementia Update) uploaded to You Tube 12/11/2022

I know that Jason did not wish to speak very much. He still remembers enough to feel the sadness. However in the brief appearance the words that Jason spoke were quite eloquent and evocative. I have no direct experience with dementia-related illnesses, but I am glad to hear about regular meetings with the support group. You are not the first one on this journey, letting others be your guides is a gift of love to you and to Jason.❤

Posted to Footless Jo (RE: Hiding Pain) Uploaded to You Tube 12/12/2022

The problem addressed in Jo's very relatable video, is that this is a two-pronged problem that involves medical training and cost. Medical training should emphasize diagnosis, problem solving, listening skills, a thorough (not just having a patient check boxes on a form) interview and a final item on my "wish list" would be encouraging a touch of Sherlock Holmes (thinking outside the box) methodology for all wishing to enter the field of medicine. The second problem is the exorbitant costs and availability of medical testing, treatment and care. Answer? I have none except that instead of grouping all teens into one category of narcissism, take the time to actually watch and listen to them. Yes probably some are doing it for clicks, but even those deserve scrutiny to answer the question, why.

Posted to Breakfast All Day (RE: Review of Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio) uploaded YT 12/09/2022

I just finished watching this movie (at home). Visually, soundtrack, dialogue, plot, themes all of it exceeds the recent Disney version in every way. This version is a poignant story, yet I was not sad at the conclusion. There was hope in the last scene on the mountain. Guillermo del Toro made the tale of Pinocchio, at least for me, astonishingly new and relevant.

Posted to The Behavior Panel (RE: Review of Episode 1 of Netflix's Harry and Meghan) 12/14/2022

Umm, I am just beginning this video, but 5 more? Hmmm. How about this, you guys watch the rest of the series. Make one 35-45 minute video using short, relevant outtakes (regarding evidence of truth or fabrication) for the subscribers to watch. The Behavior Panel is a group of 4 trained interrogation and body language experts with super deductive skills who can easily absorb "the punishment". The subscribers can then just bathe in the intellect, skills and perceptive reasoning of 4 highly professional behaviorists. Another benefit, diminished danger of copyright strikes from Susan or her 'bots.

My truth:  While, I am not with Harry and Meghan or against Harry and Meghan, I still do not wish to binge 6 hours of Harry and Meghan.

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of The Day) uploaded to You Tube 12/14/2022

The quarantine was necessary so as not to overload hospitals and clinics. Not expecting an increase in societal and mental health issues due to this isolation (not to mention the newly occurring prevalence of a lack of childhood immunity to a common respiratory virus)  is a level of incompetence that we, as a nation, cannot afford. Yes gun laws should be enforced more widely and strictly, but many of these mass murderers had long-standing, pre-existing mental and/or behavioral issues that were never addressed. Help and attention for all people is as necessary, or even more so, than new gun laws.

Posted to Amanda The Jedi (RE: Review of "Wednesday" on Netflix) uploaded to You Tube 12/14/2022

I am glad that the humor and snark was more present as opposed to adolescent angst and relationships. There was one small scene in the pretend pilgrim village where an employed cosplayer breaks character to respond to Wednesday's question with an answer that is one of the funniest lines in the series. Good on that actor (whose real and character name sadly I cannot remember). Here's hoping for a season 2. Netflix could certainly use more in-house magic.

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Review of Netflix's "Harry and Meghan" Eps 4-6) 12/17/2022

Media was cutthroat. Royals were clueless. Palace workers were responsible for more leaks than my elderly bathroom plumbing. Sadly there is still Harry's book tour to live through. This is a nightmarish combo of all of my family reunions, your parents' slide show of their vow renewal/honeymoon trip and the 1993 film "Groundhog Day" (this documentary was much less entertaining). I still wish Harry and Meghan (the people not the doc) and their children a good future, I just want them to acquire that goal QUIETLY.

Posted to  CNN (RE: Jake Tapper's daughter misdiagnosis) Uploaded to You Tube 12/15/2022

I still keep coming back to the part where the mom requested politely that a sonogram be done. Why wasn't her request granted and daughter's history (skin changes, distended stomach) considered? Perhaps, money. While I have no information on Jake Tapper's medical insurance, I feel that it is very good, so how would money be the problem. I am leaning towards ego. Even Siri or Alexa recalculates when errors are made, a good doctor should also.

Posted to Pretty Pastel Please Side Quest (RE: Caitlyn) Uploaded to You Tube 12/18/2022

While I do not always take my own advice, I would say do not regret or envy the past, just take away as much knowledge as you can. I love the quote from the 1990 movie Back To The Future (part 3) when Doc says, “It means your future hasn’t been written yet. No one’s has! Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one!” I know that is quite simplistic, but why not believe even if just for a few moments? Consider it a "mind vacation".

Posted to Footless Jo (RE: Suicide of successful influencer  Stephen "tWitch" Boss) 12/19/2022

Thank you for making this video. For anyone experiencing severe (or any level of) depression, thinking that you are the only one feeling like this makes coping almost impossible. I was shocked into this realization when Anthony Bourdain committed suicide in 2018. He had wealth, close friends, fame and when in public he was funny, happy and clever. He also had a young daughter whom he adored. Yet he is gone. Jo is right, every night decide on another day. While I am not a religious person, I always felt that was what evening prayers were all about.

Posted to LegalEagle pinned question (J6 Committee a success or failure?) December 24, 2022

Hard to say at this point. Hopefully at the very least it makes Trump himself and his sycophants, oops I mean followers, toxic to any elective and/or appointive position. Were any of these politicians and advisers who participated in the election saga from November 3 2020 - January 6 2021 (who are attorneys) even indicated for malpractice? Or do we have to wait until a Girardi (massive fraud) or a Murdaugh (generational misuse of power and apparent murders) appears? The way to avoid being over-regulated by U.S. government is for bar associations to become more proactive rather than waiting for their members to commit capital crimes before censoring or disbarring their members.

Posted to Justine Leconte officiel pinned question (Which one fav? Next review?) December 25 2022

I do not watch the show, but the black and white dress and the blazer with jeans are my favorites from the clips shown of season 3. I should do research, but have you ever compared Emily with a similar-aged/employed individual in a French series, at least in visuals (copyright permitting of course)? Emily's outfits, especially as shown in the video clips from earlier seasons seems a bit cartoony. However I am not expert in or even a beginner regarding fashion. I did not even start wearing recycled clothing from traditional (aka not fast fashion) brands until 2019. I do like classic fitted shapes in neutrals. Although I must confess that every time Iris van Herpen has a show published online, I am there riveted, wishing I had the cash and physicality to get and to wear one of her creations!

Posted to NatalieLawyerChick (RE: Verdict ) uploaded to you tube December 24, 2022

This video clarified many points of the case for me. I had not kept up with the trial, so I had been under the assumption that this was an accident. Megan is lucky to be alive and well. At best this was an abuse case. However a loaded gun in the hands of someone less than competent could have made this a first degree murder case. It is disappointing that Tory Lanez's friends and family do not understand (as I now do thanks to Natalie) the crime that was committed over 2 years ago.

Posted to Gold Shaw Farm (RE: Climate Change, low levels of snow in Vermont) December 25 2022

While climate change should not be a political issue, unfortunately it is in many areas of the U.S. I try to vote for people who believe in science (sounds like a "duh" moment but some politicians' views are scary). My clothing is mostly (probably 85-90%) purchased from online and physical thrift stores. I use public transport when possible, but it is not always an option. The future is somewhat scary. We need more industry and political leaders to see the reality. QUESTION, on a more local view, what will an increase in weather changes mean for small farmers regarding production and its accompanying costs? I am thinking of all the negatives in the environment such as pests (harmful insects, explosion in the numbers of rats and mice), diseases of plants (fungal and bacterial) and as was mentioned even over-abundance of deer.

Posted to The Behavioral Arts (RE: Casey Anthony Netflix Doc part one) December 23, 2022

Adding to this analysis, I wonder if the lies of yesterday have become the "truth" of today? I put truth in quotes because at this point after being exposed to the media and to professional counseling, Casey Anthony may have either deliberately or subconsciously rewritten her own history into something more palatable than being murderer. Hearing additional analysis might help determine the difference. Admittedly a privacy issue, but it would be interesting to hear from teachers, doctors, caretakers, classmates what the young child that was Casey Anthony was like in daily interactions.

Posted to Emily D. Baker (RE: Year End Roundup) uploaded to You Tube 12/28/2022

I have no connection to the movie industry. That being said, I too feel that it is weird, strange, odd and almost disturbing that this film be finished with all the same staff. Had Halyna Hutchins died in a car accident or from a disease then the work being completed would be a definite homage. However, she died at work on that film set due to incompetent and underfunded supposed experts whose jobs specifically involved keeping all people on set safe. Each one of those "experts" failed and should never work on a film set in that capacity. As an actor, Alec Baldwin can and could claim innocence (in spite of being on set for past multiple movies where weapons were present). As a producer, I am not so sure. Can one be an "honorary" producer without liability? Was he so self-absorbed the problems on the set were invisible to Mr. Baldwin? As Emily often says, "I have questions."

Posted to SpillSesh (RE: Gucci and Balenciaga ad campaigns) uploaded to You Tube 12/28/2022

I think the Gucci ad campaign probably would not have elicited the furor without Balenciaga's really BIG misstep. It is doubtful that celebrities on the red carpet or their PR team posting on Instagram will be proudly identifying any outfit and/or accessories as coming from Balenciaga. Forget incinerating your trainers, just sell them on Depop or TheRealReal and maybe donate the cash to a charity. What will hurt these fashion companies is when celebrities, influencers and just plain wealthy people avoid wearing Balenciaga product in public, that will hurt financially not to mention damaging the rep of a luxury brand. The parent company of Balenciaga and Gucci is Kering. Kering is a publicly traded company with stockholders. I would imagine the next stockholder meeting will be more eventful than usual. As usual, money will be the factor for change, not ethics or morality.

Posted to Lets TalkIBD (RE: New Stoma) uploaded to You Tube 12/28/2022

Although I am not living with an ostomy, the description, hints, care and practical advice detailed in this video is comprehensible and thorough. From personal experience of being released from hospital care, shaking my head to the medical personnel yes I understand, getting home and caring for myself was a major shock (but a temporary one). I very much agree with the advice voiced in this video. Keep learning, do not be afraid to ask the same question multiple times and do not be put off if answered tersely. Even medical personnel can have a bad day or be skilled in techniques but not bedside manner.

Posted to Heavy Spoilers (RE: 2nd Knives Out Film, "Glass Onion") uploaded to You Tube 12/24/2022

I did sense who the "big bad" was early on. I felt that the pattern of a certain actual billionaire with seemingly no plans except to mess with people fit this film's portrayal almost too well. It was a tell. However that did not stop me from enjoying the movie. Glass Onion had more moving parts than that wacky puzzle box. This movie was fun and refreshing after watching innumerable films with lots of spandex, capes, tights, crowns and drama. Hard to say which movie I preferred. Glass Onion being "the second" in this series does take away the novelty. I suppose that makes me lean a bit more to the first movie, but only very slightly. This video did a great job finding the Easter eggs. Minor question, I wonder were any of the scientists/board members in the Zoom meeting symbols/avatars for anyone we would recognize?

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: TikTok person made false accusations) uploaded  12/28/2022

I came for the utterly bizarre story, but stayed for Dr. Grande's erudite, educated and entirely entertainingly elucidated energy in speaking the words, "TikTok". As for the TikTok talker, after consulting anonymous (aren't they all) spirit guides, I feel that there will be lots of professionals in this TikTok talker's immediate future such as (but not limited to) lawyers, judges, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and maybe even a few people in uniforms licensed to carry weapons.

Posted to Uncivil Law (RE:TikTokPsychic) uploaded to You Tube 12/29/2022

TikTokPsychic, sounds like an oxymoron to me. Anyway being a fan of movies and streaming videos featuring the supernatural, I will offer my absolutely non-expert amateurish opinion. Any dreams, card readings, viewings are considered to be simply symbols or representations not actual facts (as in a documentary). In other words, if the cards said HISTORY, perhaps the intent was that one or more of the victims had a "history" with the killer, not the info that the head of the college's History Department committed the crime. I would love to hear the TikTokPsychic's opinion on Santa Claus, Sasquatch and the Easter Bunny.

Posted to Bernadette Banner (RE: Rating 2022 fashion in history series/movies) You Tube 12/30/2022

I enjoy long form videos like this one. It is such an entertaining way to learn, what not to wear...in a particular century. I know it does not show generosity of spirit or gentility on my part, but I am here for the explanations on the movie/series insertion into the categories, "They tried...the affectionate variant" or "This ain't it".  The pain of the particular expert when faced with Party City armor or anachronistic hair styles does me giggle. High praise to all the participating experts and especially Bernadette who shows her expertise in administration along with fashion history. All involved belong in category of "Tis Peak".

Posted to Spill Sesh (RE: Logan Paul scam) uploaded to You Tube 12/30/2022

The internet is a wild and random place. A person can get "cancelled" for one opinion or be like Logan Paul and get innumerable second chances. Perhaps there is still room for growth and maturity in Logan Paul, but currently he seems to still be the individual who committed that thoughtless, utterly stupid act in the Japanese forest in 2018. He did not (and probably does not) understand the concept of consequences. Invest or do business with that individual? My advice is first find an independent expert and an attorney before committing to anything. Remember, caveat emptor.

OMG does he really have an episode in January 2023 entitled "Impulsive"?
