NOVEMBER 2022

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of the Day) uploaded to You Tube 11/01/2022

We really have to quantify our anger and horror. For example celebrities are weird even weirder when they attempt cosplay so just laugh and move on. Showing the dying/dead body of a victim of violence is bad, horrific and we should be angry. I will now move on to proselytize astronomical and scientific facts such as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west...oh and water is wet. You are welcome!😉

The Behavior Panel channel always indicates that the organism (as in any life form) repeats behavior that has worked in the past, in the present and will do the same in the future. QUESTION: Has this behavior/sovereign citizen defense ever worked in any U.S. courtroom?  I am guessing at least once, as this concept seemed to have spread like a virus.

With dueling emails giving contradictory information, not to mention certain problematic statements from the founder, were I a rich celebrity I would have my child home schooled until I could enroll my child in another educational institution. When it comes to children, they should not be pawns, status symbols or after thoughts, they should be priorities. Parents should consider the 15k tuition a tax loss and move on...quickly.

Posted to Legal Eagle (RE: Adnan Syed Conviction Reversed) uploaded to You Tube 11/04/2022

This is an astounding mix of an incompetent defense attorney, less than transparent motives of the DA's office, confusion over interpretation of The Brady Law and general political infighting. While it was difficult listening to the judge in the Darrell Brooks trial, I think I now owe her an apology. Leave one t uncrossed or one i undotted and you leave a mess that may never be cleaned up to reach a fair and just conclusion. Hard to predict the future (an appeal is automatic), but she certainly did her best to provide closure and justice for the victims and survivors.

Posted to pinned comment on Syed Reversal, "what should be do next?"

MY REPLY: I would go to InnocenceProject.org or a similar site to find a problematic/controversial conviction to analyze. Maybe go the historical route (which might attract less trolls with torches) analyzing such trials as Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, court martial trial of mutineers from the Bounty and the trial/appeal of Dr. Samuel A. Mudd.

Posted to Jenny Nicholson (RE: Evermore) uploaded to You Tube 11/04/202

Never heard of this theme park. I live on the eastern coast of the U.S. Our local area gets a RenFaire on Saturdays and Sundays for about 6 weeks during autumn. It is always crowded. It is ironic that all a successful immersive fantasy park needs are realistic items such merch, food, alcohol, open buildings with activities, decently paid entertainers and if possible a comprehensive analysis by Jenny Nicholson. Great video!

Posted to Nicole Rudolph (RE: 1920 gowns) uploaded to You Tube 11/06/2022

My favorite was the gold floral print black gown. It is deceptively simple, but the folds, floral design, swag everything needs to be just right to fall properly and give the evocative appearance of that time period. I always felt that anime and comic-cons weekends went by far too quickly. Cosplay or dressing in period correct outfits needs to be savored over a LONG time not just 1 - 3 days. Although I am not a sailing fan, the idea of wearing costumes for this cruise sounds glorious. I hope that as many attendees as possible post footage.

Posted to Footless Jo (RE: Sighted (able) people doing tasks, blind, deaf or mute) You Tube 11/20/2022

I thought that Molly Burke on her channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xwzm2VAlHw),  guest starring 2 members of The Try Guys, did a good job regarding how to walk with a cane and/or a guide dog using herself (blind), The Try Guys (both sighted) and her mother (sighted) with the sighted people masked to simulate blindness.

The Try Guys' version of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvAmiYQgytA   leaned more to humor, as that is their brand. I thought both videos presented the joys and difficulties of guide dogs quite clearly.  I am visually impaired but not considered blind.

Posted to Runkle of The Bailey (RE: Alec Baldwin Cross Complaint) uploaded to You Tube 11/12/2022

Replay crew here. I haven't even heard Baldwin's entire cross complaint and I am already angry.

I have now listened to the full cross complaint, at least as discussed by Runkle, in this video.

QUESTION:  Is it possible that in order to have Baldwin's insurers, both personal and business, pay for his losses via litigation (to Ms. Hutchins' husband and child and in the future perhaps to Mitchell) that Baldwin has to file this cross complaint? As much of a narcissist that Alex Baldwin is, could he actually be stupid enough to believe that this cross complaint will help him whether financially and public perception?

Posted to Spill Spesh (RE: Dobrik's pizza place) uploaded to You Tube 11/12/2022

I have no knowledge of David Dobrik's finances, but isn't any restaurant or take-out food place a highly fallible business model? Maybe Dobrik is trying to create an IP or a trademark that he can sell at a profit in the future or perhaps apply this trademark to (all the deities forbid) crypto? Well, it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out, let's say in 6 months (which is probably 5 years in You Tube time😉).

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of the Day)uploaded to You Tube 11/13/2022

My theory, is that Elon Musk bought Twitter "...just want to watch the world burn." (said by Alfred Pennyworth in "The Dark Knight") only in this case what is being burned is Twitter. Elon Musk is not only the world's wealthiest performance artist, he is the world's wealthiest poor sport.

Posted to Late Night with John Oliver (RE: The British Monarchy) uploaded to You Tube 11/14/2022

The existence of the monarchy in the UK still active in the 21st century has mystified me. Oliver's analogy of two popular ambassadors from Disney to individuals of a certain genetic descent in crowns, tiaras, distinctive costumes and while wearing numerous medallions now makes the whole system so much more clear to me (as a U.S. citizen).

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Conviction and Sentencing of Elizabeth Holmes) You Tube 11/16/2022

Her narcissism and persuasive powers must be at an unimaginable level. Why else would (Theranos former lab director) Adam Rosendorff, go to her home trying to apologize for his testimony at her trial? One can only imagine if that drive, charisma and ability to convince seemingly intelligent people of an unworkable piece of hardware had been channeled into a product that actually worked. Thanos had to work hard in order to acquire a whole handful of infinity stones to get his plan instituted. While Elizabeth Holmes seemingly only needed to talk.

Posted to The DUI Guy+ (RE: Weinstein Trial) uploaded to You Tube 11/16/2022

I am not sure that a lot of Harvey Weinstein's victims had a choice if they wanted to work in Hollywood. This admittedly says more about the entertainment industry in general than Harvey Weinstein specifically. There again not every actor like Gwyneth Paltrow had a Brad Pitt confronting Harvey Weinstein "to lay off" his friend. A little disconcerting that the DA's office did not suitably vet the prosecution witnesses. Hopefully Harvey Weinstein will be convicted of enough of the 11 counts against him to make his address permanently one that requires his mandatory presence for the next decade or so.

Another vote here in appreciation of the most accurate photo* that I have ever seen of the creature responsible for so much of the tragedy and the agony of the Waukesha community by committing serial murders. This useless object that purports to be human, learned about being a sovereign citizen during one of his many jail confinements.

* a dumpster was imaged whenever his face was shown in trial clips

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Musk and future of Twitter) uploaded to You Tube 11/18/2022

While I personally will not mourn Twitter, I do feel sorry for many of its former employees. Although were I one of them I would have bailed (and gotten my recommendation emails/texts) the moment I heard that Musk was interested in buying Twitter. Musk is a showman, a performance artist and extremely wealthy. If Twitter survives in any format, it will be in spite of Musk, not because of Musk.

Posted to Emily D. Baker (RE: Holmes' Sentencing) uploaded to You Tube 11/17/2022

It was probably not an acceptable alternative to Elizabeth Holmes, but a letter that might have mitigated Holmes' sentence, or even put her into another type of institution, would have been letters from  psychiatrists or psychologists. The letter (to Holmes' father?) that quoted a 9 year old Elizabeth Holmes stating that she wished to change the world while admirable, was more indicative of the way she viewed her self from a very early age and onward. Professor Gardner at Stanford may have been the first to call out a reality check to the then 19 year old Elizabeth Holmes who obviously did not listen.

BTW Interestingly this was published online in 2013 (Theranos began in 2003):        https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3565969/
For Theranos putting actual blood samples in a (supposedly) multi-testing machine was doomed from day one.

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Elon Musk and Twitter) uploaded to You Tube 11/20/2022

Allowing that blue check debacle (effectively allowing anyone to look certified by simply paying 8USD without background checks) not listening to warnings by his employees is the "tell" for me. Money, even IQ level, does not make one omniscient, free of the need for advice. Was Twitter already problematic before the appearance of Elon Musk, sure. The only endgame (not in a Marvel sense) that I can hypothesis is that he will take Twitter to the edge of viability either sell the trademark name, Twitter or de-evolve Twitter to a personal blog.

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of the day) uploaded to You Tube 11/20/2022

I am not sure how Zaid does it, but that way of presenting the news makes it more intelligible.  Glad for the Philip DeFranco "home" (it is ok Philip I put that word in quotes) where we can all go to when emotionally exhausted and informatively deprived by traditional news media.

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of the day) uploaded to You Tube 11/22/2022

We live in a world where anyone at anytime can be in the sight of a weapon then die or acquire lifetime PTSD. This event appears to be a possibility whether they are on a battlefield in a foreign land or attending a show in their home town in the U.S. This in no way defends this or any shooter, but we have to take mental health seriously in view of covering it via subsidized insurance, no matter where you live and normalizing mental health treatment. Treatment is never evidence of any weakness whether it involves repairing a broken bone or a shattered mind. Proper treatment takes us from where we are to where we should be.

Posted to Amanda The Jedi (RE: movie review of Falling For Christmas) You Tube 11/24/2022

Admittedly this video was way funnier and entertaining than the movie it described, but I WANT a Lindsay-renaissance (talent reborn, image revived) Not sure about some of the other actors' (could be script, could be direction) effort, charisma or talent but Lindsay Lohan  added some glittery holiday decor to the film along with making me smile. The bed sheet scene is only slightly more over the top from the way I put fitted and flat sheets onto a bed. That and the hospital scene kind of makes the movie, at least for me, worth a "free" (aka I am a Netflix subscriber) watch.

Posted to Try Pod (RE: Eugene's Romance Corner - The TryPod Ep. 188) You Tube 11/24/2022

I was also impressed with Matpat's video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h95pZQiKwI&t=233s
AND besides being an intelligent, cohesive and adult analysis...HE WAS FUNNY. It is not hard SNL you used to know how.
Extra thumbs up for Rainie's question: romcom characters, would they still be a couple in the future. Romeo and Juliet scarred my baby teenage soul, so it is a topic that I never thought about. My soul is considerably tougher now, since 11/08/2016, so no problem with these thoughts. I will go with Disney (in no particular order): Cinderella (NO), Rapunzel/Tangled (NO), Ariel (YES), Jasmine (YES), Tiana (YES), Snow White (NO), Aurora (YES), Belle (a definite 100% YES), Pocahontas (problematic situation), Mulan (YES), Merida (I see her as a Queen Elizabeth I type). Lots more but I have taken up enough comment space

Posted to Legal Eagle (RE: Elon Musk and Lawsuits -- Twitter) - uploaded to You Tube 11/24/2022
MY POST:
Ah, for the billionaire who has everything including a very high opinion of himself...a legion of lawsuits. (For extra fun hum to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas".

QUESTION ON THIS VIDEO: Will Elon save or destroy twitter?
MY COMMENT:
Twitter will either be eviscerated down to its trademark and sold as such or it will live on to become the world's largest blog of a single individual. Twitter has been a dumpster fire, albeit a useful one for advertising and promotion, almost since it began. No links, but I seem to remember even Jack Dorsey being regretful of "the creature" he brought into being. (If that trope sounds familiar, just check out Mary Shelley's work.)

Posted to NatalieLawyerChick (RE: Sentencing of Darrell Brooks) uploaded to You Tube 11/22/2022

Excellent analysis! I have subscribed to the Dine in Psychology channel. This combination would be so useful in most of the wtf cases I have seen lately on Law Tube channels. Brooks' grandmother indicated that she has been "an ordained, for the gospel, minister for 47 years." Darrell Brooks is 40. I am not a religious person, but I am willing to bet that there is a relevant quotation somewhere in the (or any) Bible relating to taking care of your progeny/family. She also mentioned mental illness has been in her family for generations? Admittedly educators, physicians along with the legal and penal system that allowed this individual roam free in open society were also responsible (along with his immediate family) for letting a child fall through the cracks. At this point whether Darrell Brooks can be redeemed and/or retrained is moot, his freedom is an obvious danger to society.

Posted to Spill Sesh (RE: Balenciaga bear) uploaded to You Tube 11/28/2022

While I know what was being referenced regarding the teddy bear attire, I had to Google. Well now I have those images in my computer's history along with being burned into my brain. All that I can imagine is that Balenciaga wanted to be edgy and no sane adults were in the room when this ad campaign was approved. Definitely weird after the Kanye thing. All these corporate apologies seem so hollow, especially when the photographers are blamed. How about this:  all executives at Balenciaga involved are being let go or penalized financially or forced to under go some sort of ethics training? This kind of clueless behavior will not change by yelling at Kim K. or a photographer...it has to start at the top of the company.

Posted to Abby Cox (RE: Vintage Cruise) uploaded to You Tube 11/26/2022

After seeing several vlogs concerning this trip, it seems like the weather was the super villain. Also packing/preparing multiple vintage outfits for that period of cruise time is incredibly complicated. Was it Nicole (sorry if my quarantine brain has failed me) who used an excel spreadsheet?  I have trouble packing enough Spanx and spandex for a comic con weekend so all this is waaaay out of my level of expertise.

Posted to Dan Murrell (RE: Review of The Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special) 11/23/2022

LOVED this special. Just a nerd-ish comment in that there was a very quick reference to someone quite famous (I think by Kevin Bacon?) alluding,  albeit somewhat stealthily...and flying under the radar (LOTS OF HINTS HERE) concerning James Gunn's new corporate affiliation.

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of the day) uploaded to You Tube 11/30/2022

Walmart is not exactly noted for its 100% support for its employees in regards to working conditions and pay scale. However learning that Walmart ignored and dismissed prior complaints, is both infuriating and disheartening. Everyone in that store whether employees or shoppers should join in a class action suit regarding Walmart's lack of due diligence. Can any of these employees and shoppers ever enter a Walmart again? The level of PTSD is unimaginable.

Posted to Karolina Żebrowska (RE: TikTok appearance reels) uploaded to You Tube 11/30/2022

While I have been able to avoid the dumpster fire (pre-Musk and current-Musk) that is/was Twitter, I have gotten caught up in Instagram and TikTok (I use FB mostly to "store" funny videos). It is hard to avoid all those subliminal (covert) messages to look thin and pretty. I have now trained my TikTok algorithm to just give me adorable animals and humans doing funny, but safe things. It is hard but you have to be SO careful on what you click on.
