Did sorority members not read their own bylaws? Are these national bylaws or written by this local chapter? It seems like within this particular sorority there is not consensus or perhaps was the sorority pressured by an "outsider" (aka not a current resident of this house) to un-admit this new member? Meanwhile the "Streisand Effect" has been ignored yet again. If this individual chooses to sue, there will be loss of money to the sorority (perhaps also the college) along with a higher premium on the sorority and college's liability insurance. What always irritates about these situations is that "those in charge" appear to only be able to think A to B while not anticipating issues in C - Z. Thank you to Nate The Lawyer at last someone who can take the rant to the levels of intelligence and logic that it deserves.

Way back during the peacock time (I think I also remember a rather large pig who had certain problematic metabolic issues), I wondered why aren't ESA animals routinely trained? It is cruel to the animal to put it in stressful situations for which no training has been given. Our reactions first to unilaterally allow any animal with a photoshopped certificate to enter a crowded plane or public transport and now to do a 180 in prohibiting ESA animals is so unnecessary. Standardized training will provide graduates who do not bite or mistake your seat for a toilet. Yes we all dislike over-legislation (try to build a storage shed or enlarge your driveway in some communities), restrictions, rules, but as a species we have repeatedly shown that we need more than optional guidelines, we need enforceable rules.

This story is sounding disturbingly like the Lori Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell situation. Admittedly no unusual deaths in this case, but "cult-like" mentality is scarily similar. We know that the oldest child (a girl now in college) had left the family earlier and 4 of her 5 siblings are now safe. The fifth sibling, Chad Franke as of this post still has an instagram page indicating a problematic situation. I hope that wherever he is, he is safe.

I always feel that Rachel does not simply repurpose items, she helps them ascend to a higher level (sorry watching questionable quality movies on random sites). Glad outtakes are included as I was feeling a bit misty about Grandmother's aluminum foil now gone. Frodo joyfully jumping for that empty aluminum foil box was perfection.

I am going with attorney instructions for her "non-answer" to TMZ. By dressing similarly to the day of the incident, (someone) being sure TMZ was going to interview her (at an airport no less) has allowed Ms. Gomes to inform a large audience via social media and news outlets confirming that she was that person that day on that plane, her current state of mind, her future charitable work...without an obvious fee being paid. Do I believe her? I believe her in saying she was definitely getting off the plane that day. Any explanations for her odd behavior on that plane for now are somewhat murky.

I had to look it up, it was Wilfred. This was a TV (now THAT makes me OLD) series that streamed 2011 - 2014. I have to laugh evilly a bit in that two shows related to death, the former of the person and the latter of the soul, aka Walking Dead and Real House Wives Of (way too many places). are still chugging along in our reality.

Beyond the victims, there are no innocents in this story. Everyone failed the children in varying degrees. I would say CPS is the number one offender here. While the sister's (Bonnie) online statement was somewhat clueless with words, "unanticipated", "move forward", "kids will be ok". Those children will need therapy for YEARS. Still we do not know all the legalities involved over the past few years. Perhaps the sisters were afraid that Ruby Franke would take the children and run, or do much worse.

I have no idea what the laws are in Texas concerning renters and sub-renters (maybe ask Uncivil law?), seems like things are now proceeding properly in view of the improper treatment of this man and his daughter. Sue the company (I would LOVE to know what clueless individuals or incompetent corporations are behind this mess) that owns the building along with the management company that "runs" (quotes are there because they are as incompetent as the building owners) the building for content loss, replacement costs, current living costs, pain and suffering and most importantly the plaintiff's legal costs . I am willing to bet that the final judgement would be far in excess of what the original costs would have been in order to make this man and his daughter whole.

For any influencer, whether the content is makeup, crafting, farming or whatever, you have to know THE line at the beginning of this venture. THE line is in between your personal life and your You Tube life. I would imagine that this is an ongoing acrobatic and psychological battle to keep everything moving and monetized while still remaining sane without burnout. As for combining farming with any other occupation, unless you own a multinational farming organization, you need the backup of a second stable income. As was said, some of the errors in grammar and the use of overly effusive language makes me also wonder if Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are actually the authors. To me authorship does not matter, as in giving permission for anyone else to write the letters makes both equally responsible for every overloaded adjective, tired trope, typo and questionable detail.

Mistakes made on all sides. The sorority accepted Artemis Langford without questioning the status of the male to female transition. I am guessing that Artemis did not inform the sorority leaders of this status. If Artemis did disclose all data, then the sorority leaders obviously did not run this information by the membership. The sorority's charter does not specify the physical and psychological status of said individual only that it does not discriminate potential members for being trans. And finally this all should have been settled in private mediation, not in the click-bait atmosphere of the press. Now everyone looks bad.

I keep coming back to the same question. How did this go on throughout the trial and yet no one noticed. No one reported all this contact. No one informed the defense or the prosecution or the Judge of the Clerk of the Court's unusual contact with the jurors? When the defense's paralegal noticed this, why was not this evidence brought to the court's attention immediately as in before the jury deliberates? This is just all so odd. There are more subplots and drama in this mess than in most reality shows or a John Grisham novel. Looking forward to the discovery process, perhaps it will parse all these threads into a coherent pattern? BTW, that 30k USD (to self-publish), may turn out to be the most astute investment Ms. Becky could have ever made, albeit problematic ethically.

If the news description is accurate, this woman and her children will be requiring both physical and mental health assistance asap. While I can appreciate the irony of her past statements, I find no joy in her situation. The moment I heard the phrase "DEFUND the police", I know the stupidity and click-bait avalanche that would result. I am going to blame Putin's "troll farms" for pushing that phrase and concept as I am extremely reluctant to blame anyone living in the U.S. (that is me going "la-la-la" in a deliberate blocking mechanism). Yes there should be better entry testing before allowing admittance into the academy, relevant training for the cadets such as martial arts and self control are far more valuable than simply teaching a rando how to shoot to kill. After graduation, police departments should have accountability for egregious behavior, but do not defund them, fund them. We need an organization in place to keep and maintain order. How about social workers on staff and in cars for domestic violence calls. Might have helped someone like Gabby Petito. So "Revise the Police", "Refund the Police", "Improve the Police", but avoid political rhetoric and mindless slogans. Do not obfuscate, do illuminate.

Replay crew here (did not look at chat replay). I can appreciate a journalist who is careful about the facts that they use and distribute. I also appreciate journalists who do research before dismissing an internet response. The You Tube site, Growing Up In Scientology is a good place to start. Yes the internet can get its underwear in bunch and react without logic, thought or care. However, in this case, the internet is correct. These letters to the Judge in the Masterson case are filled with bad writing, overly effusive comments, irrelevancies, unfortunate drug references, show a certain "standardization" and as Natalie pointed out there are no concrete details concerning how we got here and where we can go in the future regarding the defendant. That being said trolls can hang out in video games and fantasy novels, but should not be in live chat.

How was it that the defense's paralegal was the only one to see odd behavior of the clerk of the court? Why wasn't this paralegal's evidence presented to the court before the verdict? I am guessing the defense wanted Ms. Becky's mid-life crisis book to be published/released first. The book is not majority of the problem. The problem is that the book's content seems to (have only heard some of the book) support possible inappropriate contact with the jurors. Well to all the judges barring cameras from the courtroom, maybe first check the security closer to home.

No diploma or training needed, these 2 celebrities are really really mad, not even trying to act and were definitely not apologizing. I would have loved to hear their dialogue BEFORE the video was made. Actually while these letters were submitted "under seal" the judge refused to receive them that way. She indicated that they would be part of the trial's public record available to just about anyone. Said "leak" was only in terms of the letters being available a few hours earlier than originally planned. As for the letter writers being aware that these missives would go public, I have no info on that. Possibly these 50 letter writers may have assumed that a privacy order was in place. Actually funny story, the judge had the letters summarized and added to her speech to Masterson on his sentencing. One celebrity (Ethan Suplee) had grabbed back their letter, but unfortunately the summary for that yeeted letter was still in the judge's closing remarks. Let the schadenfreude flow. 😉

Jodi Hildebrandt has quite the reputation in Utah, important connections (no pun intended) and lots of money. The Mormon Stories site on You Tube has interviews with Jessi Hildebrandt (niece of Jodi) and Adam Paul Steed (Jodi Hildebrandt was his marriage counselor). Mr. Steed was the individual whose complaint lost Jodi Hildebrandt her license for 18 months.

Thank you A-Aron for continuing to read these letters. There are more than enough metaphorical cones of shame for each and every one of these letter writers. Giovanni Ribisi's letter, as the others, definitely follows THE pattern. However, I think that maybe the only part of his letter that was original was that last paragraph, it actually sounded sincere. Just my hypothesis but I think that the letter writers were provided more than individual bullet points, they were given the whole box. BTW, interesting that the child (and the young teen) Danny Masterson is referenced so frequently. I am guessing that age was when he was relatively safe to be around.

Many mistakes made by Disney which started with making Bob Chapek the CEO along with underestimating the importance of a good script and overestimating an audience's interest in and money for a high-budget film or an unrealistically priced hotel. However there is one basic mistake I simply do not understand, is their choice of release dates. Why wasn't Haunted Mansion released in October (remember Halloween) and Little Mermaid released in mid-late November (remember holiday merch)? COVID was a sudden, unexpected punch to the gut. Admittedly streaming services were picking up steam, but this situation gave "going viral" a whole new meaning. On the other hand the strikes of WGA and SAG-AFTRA is a self-inflicted punch to the gut by the studios and their corporate overlords. One hopes these corporations regain their senses before the entertainment industry is permanently harmed.

Jodi Hildebrandt's "therapy" methods were easily believed and taken on by members of a high-demand religion, a religion that insists on obedience without questions. Critical thinking is not encouraged in a high-demand religion. De-evolving into a cult in those situations is quite easy. Jodi Hildebrandt was not created in a vacuum. The environment which allowed her to expand her influence is a co-conspirator in this case. Jodi Hildebrandt and her sycophant Ruby Franke will no doubt be punished and removed from power. Unfortunately I cannot hope for the same for the co-conspirator.

The "backdrop" for this apology video was a close-up of Ashton and Mila's refurbished, impressive barn house. Looked quaint, homey and sincere didn't it? Their clothes were equally muted in tone and appeared relatable as in Gap not Gucci. As for words in the apology, they were brief, to the point, basic vocabulary (as in no Thesaurus required). While no video can hide certain characteristics in body language, a brief video can do what the magician does, apply misdirection as in look HERE not here. The letters to the judge were flowery, effusive, sentimental in tone. These letters are supposed to reduce, ameliorate, lighten the sentence imposed by the court, not question its verdict or canonize the defendant. As I write this Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have either voluntarily resigned from the Thorn Foundation or perhaps "requested" to resign. As others have commented, Kutcher personally knew these victims. Where are those letters or videos apologizing for letting these women down? Obviously this whole incident is triggering, perhaps it is on me expecting too much from individuals not capable of my expectations.

I do agree that Jodi Hildebrandt worked beyond the tenets of an ethical religion. However by encouraging blind obedience and punishing critical thinking, I believe that at least in part this sect of LDS (sorry I do not know the proper name of the group that recommended Jodi Hildebrandt) makes the church patriarchy, as only male opinions are valued and followed, co-conspirators. As Jessi Hildebrandt said in their interview, had Jodi been a biologic male the damage could have been even worse; as unbelievable as that sounds. BTW I agree that Jessi Hildebrandt after 14 years has done very well, however Adam Paul Steed's state of mind has not yet healed. How he can continue to give live interviews is both astonishing to hear and awful to listen to.

Russell Brand's body language and vocal tones seem similar to what I have seen before. He believes what he is saying which is not to say he acted appropriately with any of these women. Mr. Brand's past deficits in comprehending consent is documented in his 2007 and 2010 books.The animal abuse in his first book, even though he was not an adult, seems especially cruel and oddly clueless. These animals were weaker, smaller and had much less power than even the child version of Russell Brand. The women in Mr Brand's self-admitted promiscuous life, were probably weaker, most likely smaller and definitely had much less power than Mr. Brand. Mr. Brand is/was preparing a third book for publication, was on a publicity tour and recently announced he was 21 years sober. That no doubt got the media more focused on him, not his podcast. I hope that Brand and his lawyers try to settle this out of court. It would be kinder to the victims, and perhaps would even teach the 48 year old adult that is Brand the definition of and behavior relevant to consent.

Out of all the bad behavior that she exhibited, her biggest regret appears to be dating a Democrat. Admittedly the focus that night was on Ms. Boebert, but her Democratic date seemed to be far more well-behaved than her. What will be more telling will be the level of critical thinking in her constituency if they re-electb her to a position of power.

Ironically in forcing the Duggar children, especially the females, to be on camera for everything seemed to initiate an unexpected anomaly. The sisters became stronger and better critical thinkers then was expected by the elders who were/are deep into their religious patriarchy sect. While I can see how the sisters have a problematic relationship with their parents, it is sad that some of the brothers have not evolved as their sisters have. I wonder how the youngest children (of the original 19) are doing? Privacy is important, but in this family privacy seems to be a double-edged sword regarding the children.

I agree that celebrity makeup/hair/fashion lines are priced in correlation to the fame of the name on the product. I do enjoy seeing them tested by a professional. Ironically I (she/her) usually only wear a skirt or dress once a year (New Years' Eve ). I can relate to not being prepared for the daily adventures of a surprise breeze, seating in a crowded shop, running across the street and worried that people are making judgements. The guys took it much more seriously than I thought would occur. I enjoyed the genuine appreciation of the comfort of a dress in hot weather, the irritation in not being able to zip or button yourself and the fact that in some cases one must choose: is it the purchase of a new Xbox series X or a formal dress?
BTW whose bright idea was it to call an upper level Xbox , series X.

I am still remaining with my original thoughts. Michael Oher knew this was a conservatorship, but thought that it equated to or would turn into, him being a legally adopted son of the Tuohy family. It never happened that way, now he is upset. The family's foundation website indicated he was their son. Michael Oher was quite the football catch (bad pun sorry). Was he given other college athletic scholarship offers to choose from? Why was there an equal sharing of the Blind Side money among all 4 members of the Tuohy family and Michael Oher. Sure the author gets his money, but why would all the Tuohys get an equal share to Michael's? I would love a further dive into this story. It may all come down to 5 people who did not properly discuss this situation before Mr. Oher entered college.

Not that I expected a different response, but the comments by Kevin Franke's lawyer were platitude-ridden, vague and basically choosing the former option in the mind game of stupid or liar. I am not sure who in that family should have custody of those children. I am not sure if any of them should even have visitation for the next few months. At the moment the only guardian(s) that those four children should have need to be a combination of medical and psychiatric experts.

It Worked!!!! Yesterday I told you that my video about Russell Brand was slapped with an ad suitability claim despite there being absolutely nothing inappropriate about it. So I went back into the video and edited out any sentence I wouldn’t say to a kindergarten class taught by nuns. I multiplied my usual sensors for what constitutes inappropriate by 5. I crossed my fingers and uploaded the new edit for you and it worked… for now. I have colleagues getting their videos on the subject limited or even blocked. So not sure how long I’ll be cruising under the radar but for now we’re good. Enjoy 🤗
MY REPLY to The Community Comment: Funny isn't it how certain family vloggers and parenting coaches get to keep their videos on and monetized, at least until they get arrested. You Tube can be a contradiction wrapped in a mystery then packed into a concrete cube. The videos on The Behavioral Arts channel are mini lessons on how to both listen and watch in order to understand people. It is a language assist beyond what services like Babbel or Rosetta Stone can do for all of us. Thank you for your patience and ingenuity.

Great discussion! Two things legacy (or electronic) news media needs to change to survive, (1) hire more critical thinkers and (2) hire more researchers. We are doing damage to our bodies consuming fast food, consuming fast journalism will damage our brains. Also I am lazy, and tired of researching every news story that I read on my own time.

I agree, in that Mr. Brand believes that he is speaking truth. I am not certain how the victims' dates/months/years match up with Mr. Brand's time in rehab and when/if ever, he relapsed (common for a long term addict), but that would be highly relevant information. As with this type of history, how can he be certain, that at least 4 times, he did not accept no for an answer? The issues he had as a child with his animals does point to a disturbing psychopathy. However, Russell Brand wrote those memoirs, maybe those details were thrown in there for shock value?

A beautiful day at the farm with all the creatures munching and enjoy the sun. I always find it amusing to see "the man who is NOT a cat person"...be just that. BTW the end scenario with cat on chair, then cat on lap, then cat biting or leaving the lap after 5 seconds is basically life with most cats. As Dame Judi/Old Deuteronomy said in the musical "Cats", "...a cat is not a dog."🤣

I tend to believe the victims, probably my emotional bias as intellectually I realize that anyone is innocent until proven guilty. Why are these victims coming out now? Possibilities: (1) Brand has (had?) another book releasing (2) Brand is (was?) doing a publicity tour (3) conviction of Danny Masterson in 2 of the 3 victim cases. However a more relevant question might be, what caused the start of the 2019 investigation of Russell Brand by The Sunday Times (a British newspaper)? Possibility: Harvey Weinstein was indicted in May 2018, so "Me Too" was more in the zeitgeist. BTW believe all victims is an unfortunate slogan. Investigate all claims of victims or treat victims with respect during discovery, might be more accurate statements. Mr. Brand's own books, his stand-up, interviews and news media have documented his innumerable liaisons along with his stint in rehab. Someone in the throes of an addiction, rehab and very often multiple relapses (I have no information as to that last possibility) might not result in the best memory of 10 - 15 year old encounters by a man now of 48 years who currently espouses certain beliefs.

I found the sisters' apology/explanation videos wanting in facts and details. Admittedly there could be legal reasons, but the sisters should have been advised to keep the videos short, to the point and above all not whiney. Beyond the videos shown here and other Law Tube channels, I have never seen a whole video by 8 Passengers, the "parenting" group started by Jodi Hildebrandt and these 2 sisters. Perhaps the 2 sisters' videos are more in tune with those who watch and subscribe to their channels. Who should get custody, no one without a thorough investigation until the 4 younger ones are psychologically more stable and physically healthier. In the custody question regarding the 2 sisters and Kevin Franke this should not be a difficult task, just get access to their parenting videos.

Since the U.S. and other nations had to absorb (I promise no pun intended) ALL rescue and recovery costs, it would seem only fair to U.S. taxpayers, not to mention the rich and the foolish, that there should be a federal law (maybe a U.N. mandate?) requiring inspections of any (might have to define origin of said "guest" or "mission specialist") tourist submersible operations, personnel and submersibles. Tourist being defined as anyone who: (1) paid for the trip (2) donated to the company's foundation in order to be eligible for trip (3) donated to any organization directed by said company to be eligible for the trip (4) traded/promised any object of worth to gain access to the trip (5) no students allowed (6) no one under 21 allowed and (7) maybe pass a psych evaluation (not joking). I highly doubt everyone on that submersible or even the MV Polar Prince (Canadian registry) who witnessed the tragedy from above, was firmly ready to die, or be a witness to death, no matter what release was signed. As for the Titanic itself, I agree it is a grave site and should be treated with honor, respect and left alone.

I had never thought of a person's identity being tied to a belief. Not sure that I am adept enough to use Mr. Magnabosco's techniques "in the wild" with certain relatives of mine. At least now I can comprehend why my comments had elicited anger instead of rational discussion. I thought that I was being calm and logical, but I was being heard as threatening and confrontational. Mr. Magnabosco is probably correct, we need to be mentally inoculated, perhaps by making courses in "critical thinking" as mandatory in schools as is mathematics and reading. NOTE TO ANDREW GOLD: good luck on the dog, maybe scrawl a note onto your Aunt's wedding invite, "plus ones must be human"? 😉

This whole mess was born of a perfect storm regarding a particular sect of a religion that only allowed unquestioning obedience, devalued critical thinking skills, approved without oversight of Jodi Hildebrandt as that sect's recommended family therapist and finally a CPS that was either deficient in personnel and/or incompetent. Every authority figure who should have protected those children utterly failed in their mission. As for custody determination, the judge might wish to watch the vlogs of the other 2 sisters in addition to the 8 Passengers videos (before JD even entered the lives of the Franke Family) which showcase Kevin Franke's less than admirable parenting skills. Ruby Franke should remain in prison until her youngest child is over 21. Jodi Hildebrandt is dangerous, possibly psychopathic. Ideally she should not be allowed to interact with anyone beyond her attorney.

I had never heard of that particular person who felt that all reports of victims, if given after the passing of years, were false. 50-50 on whether that particular You Tuber believes those words, wishes to monetize those words or perhaps both. All victims deserve to have their reports taken seriously, with respect and investigated. Also, innocent until proven guilty is how we (U.S.) proclaims the mission statement of our legal system to the world. We must do both or surrender to a society which could abuse us all for any reason any time. The Russell Brand situation is complex. He was quite open about his past substance abuse and lifestyle choices. He went into rehab in the early 2000's. Did he relapse, I do not know. However, with that history he has made himself an unreliable narrator as someone in the throes of addiction, rehab or even a relapse, may not be able to hear or even comprehend the statement of "no". I am not defending him or excusing him, just giving a reason for his incredulity over these victim statements.

I agree with other comments, Russell Brand does believe he did nothing wrong or harmful. Unfortunately by his own admission, he is an unreliable narrator of his own history due to past addiction, impulsive behavior and questionable judgement. Mr. Brand and his attorneys need to quickly take control and move this situation from social media to private mediation. Trial by media will do nothing good for anyone involved. Even those extra clicks and views that legacy media so desperately values have only speeded up the process of turning investigative journalism into a world of tabloid journalism where as a news source these entities are considered a joke, fantastical and worse, irrelevant.
