That type of ignorant response to an amputee is exactly why early readers or audio books in kindergarten or even pre-k should contain or describe images of all types (races, abilities etc.) of humanity. Children are scared and/or curious about what looks "different" to them. The parent or guardian or teacher can explain in a controlled environment what is going on, why that person in their book looks "different". However when we don't inform children, they will ask/act out in public. Even more sad, is when these children never get to learn, to understand and grow up to be adults who are still afraid and suspicious of people who do not look like them.

All right I admit it, I did have a few laughs in the first 25 minutes and wondered what the **  I was watching. However this movie did hold my attention, all the actors seemed to be good, well-cast and yet I am still not sure if I can recommend it. I watched it at home, so perhaps that makes me an easier "critic". I did like the evolution of the machines, not sure AI would go that way, but that is the movie for which I might have had a stronger recommendation. Ironically for a movie where the 'bots outnumber the humans, this movie needed more time to breathe, perhaps in series format?

Posted to The Reel Rejects (RE: Matrix Resurrections) uploaded to You Tube 12/21/2021

Exactly how the movie left me (although full disclosure watched it at home on my MAC). I said to a friend, that I cannot 100% recommend it nor would I be negative about it. The first 1/2 hour almost seemed comedic, while the last 2 hours seem to move by way too fast. I wanted to see the evolution of some of the machines.  I cannot say more due to spoilers. I wanted more  backstory from Trinity. I also needed more (ironically) data concerning Neil Patrick Harris and even more cat time. Were some of those expanded, I would watch that movie. BTW yes I did wish for more clear action scenes. Hey Netflix!

Posted to Emily D. Baker (RE: Travis Scott Interview) uploaded to You Tube 12/30/2021

While Travis Scott does bear responsibility for this tragedy there are many others who bear a majority of the responsibility. Obviously Live Nation, the venue itself, the Houston police, stage managers and others paid by Scott to "run" the show. My take away from this interview, without knowing this individual, is that he is being medicated due to stress and shock. He could not seem to organize his thoughts and answer many of the questions directly. He was mostly slumped in his chair. Travis Scott deflected frequently with irrelevant comments. By not analyzing past Travis Scott concerts, those in charge of security and safety rightfully appear negligent, incompetent and reluctant to spend the money to prepare for surge behavior. It would have been so easy, admittedly more expensive, to prevent this tragedy.

I am not saying intentional sabotage happened or did not happen, we live in a crazy, senseless and violent world.  However the job of your attorney, if you are accused (or about to be accused) of a crime, is to create reasonable doubt; by suggestion of an alternate possibility, cross-examination of witnesses or by using social/news media.

posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Death of Mitrice Richardson) uploaded November 2 2021

I agree with Dr. Grande that what we are asking police to do in these cases, will always be lacking a satisfactory conclusion. Admittedly this happened years ago, but it proves that the police are clueless (at best) and negligent (at worst) when handling mental health issues. Police Departments need to have officers who are trained in mental health issues working along side them 24/7. This evolved police department might have saved both Mitrice Richardson and Gabby Petito.

While I would not rule out anything at this point, a defense team/attorney's job in a trial (and these social media days, in a pre-trial situation) is to prove reasonable doubt in regards to the crime/perpetrator. I believe negligence, carelessness, production's low budget (they would not even put up employees in a hotel close by set), incompetence and just plain stupidity wiped Halyna Hutchins from her life and destroyed the life of her family.

I live in a community that is rightfully proud of its history. Unfortunately with great history, comes great casualties. Yes, I just mangled that famous Spiderman (along with less recent individuals such as Voltaire and Winston Churchill) slogan. My area contains lots of uneven pavement ("its historical"...ugh), the dreaded cobblestones and even gravel driveways. Not sure how historical shoes would manage, but I am guessing a lot better than the destruction of various pairs of my black leather heeled boots.

posted to Observe (RE: Travis Scott) uploaded November 7 2021

Mr. Scott has had trouble at his concerts in the past. This "trouble" could have been averted with warnings by Mr. Scott to his fans and adequate security prep to investigate past concerts. This article (most were behind a paywall) mentions the 2017 concert issues https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/travis-scott-show-devastated-for-houston-astroworld-1254325/      So even without watching his body language and listening to his vocal tones and words, I believe he is sorry that he has some responsibility for this tragedy, however I wonder if he has learned anything from the 8 horrific deaths of his fans and who knows how many injuries which happened at his concert. However most of all I blame the individuals who hired him to perform without doing due diligence to provide proper security and emergency vehicles.

posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: Travis Scott) uploaded November 8, 2021

While Travis Scott has a portion of the responsibility for this tragedy so do others. Why did the concert bookers, the venue, its security force and the police of Houston not do a simple Google search of past concerts. The bad behavior and evidence is there to study. For whatever reason, Travis Scott seems clueless, this is not a defense it is just that he has not learned from past concert problems. Judging by his video apology and his girlfriend's posts they appear to live in their own reality far away from the one in which 8 young fans died so tragically and so unnecessarily. These deaths were not accidents, they happened due to negligence by people who should have known better.

Posted to Jimmy Kimmel Live (RE: Jan. 6 rioters) uploaded November 9 2021

Hearing interviews with January 6 rioters, is fascinating. After doing a weak imitation of The Purge (movie) regarding The White House, listening to the clueless, vapid, self-entitled and illogical comments from these soon to be incarcerated felons is both hysterically funny and utterly sad. Perhaps they will find their epiphany during long hours in a room without wifi, eating meals whose components are usually found in the soon to be expired food sale section of superstores and having more roommates than they have had in their entire narcissistic lives.

I know I am "preaching to the choir", but we vaccinate and wear masks not just for ourselves, but for the health of others especially the young unvaccinated ones and the immunosuppressed ones. So so tired of politics being used to deny science. The Better Health alliance with Travis Scott and his people does make me feel a little icky. Yes every single person at the concert whether ticket holders or employees need therapy. However all this caring language and attitude was suspiciously absent BEFORE the concert happened in spite of the "rage and rush the stage" themes of Mr. Scott's previous concerts. No need to link, a Google search will bring up this history in seconds with the words: "Travis Scott past concerts crowds". Really simple, sad that the venue, Houston police, concert organizer and of course Mr. Scott himself did not educate themselves.

Good on Hannah for being such a reliable and coherent source that E! would use her so frequently throughout their show. I also like Hannah's matter-of-fact attitude in not taking anything personally and being able to laugh at herself.

QUESTION: Is showing clips of this E! show on this You Tube channel permissible regarding copyright law or would it be claimed by E! ? It would be highly ironic if the old Smokey Glow clips (free to E!) was the reason for the claim.

QUESTION: Did E! screen this show for a focus group (usually composed of mixed ages, sexes and ethnicities)? If so I would LOVE to know what impressions were left on the comment cards!

Posted to NatalieLawyerChick (RE: Rittenhouse Trial) uploaded 11/10/2021

I agree with other comments that the basic facts seem unassailable. A teenager brought a loaded gun, which he was neither licensed or properly trained to use, to a conflict. My assumption of insufficient training is due to the fact Mr. Rittenhouse knowingly entered an area of danger brandishing a loaded weapon as if he were a character in the game Grand Theft Auto. Pointless remarks made about the judge's abilities by the media and less than stellar casework done by the prosecution could result in Mr. Rittenhouse avoiding all charges. When prosecutors make mistakes, people like Bill Cosby go free. Having Mr. Rittenhouse appear triumphantly bounding out of the courthouse free from any criminal liability would be the last thing that this country needs.  Potentially, vigilantes could go jumping from state to state to get into confrontations as if they were jumping from level to level in a video game. It is ironic because as misguided and as unprepared as Mr. Rittenhouse was, he seemingly went there to protect not to hurt. However if he is found innocent of all charges, one can only imagine the unhinged damaged people who will follow in his footsteps.

As I post this comment Rittenhouse jury is beginning their 4th day of deliberation. I am just getting Cosby prosecutor-error deja vu. The best result would be a mistrial. Get a different judge and for the sake of all that is holy get a better prosecutor. My guess is that if Rittenhouse is found guilty of any of the charges it might be: COUNT 3: FIRST-DEGREE RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING SAFETY, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON (RE: the skateboard throw). I cannot make sense of the prosecution strategy unless it is some cabal to have a mistrial?  Simply because politicians cannot get any weirder, I read this:
https://floridapolitics.com/archives/474466-matt-gaetz-said-he-may-offer-internship-to-kyle-rittenhouse/      I realize this may be untrue, but sadly I believe Matt Gaetz is more than capable to doing this being totally tone-deaf as to the bigger picture of what rewarding a confused teen vigilante might unleash.

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Rittenhouse verdict) uploaded to You Tube 11/19/2021

The wrong charges were filed by the prosecution. The area was full of violence with a chaotic mixture of police, protestors and rioters. This was no place for a teen fascinated by police, security guards and guns. When the charge concerning an underage person possessing a gun was dismissed, I had little hope for a guilty verdict on any of the remaining charges. With all the prosecution errors, I thought maybe a mistrial would be declared. What would have been a good outcome was a sentence of probation. This would have given a neutral party permission to officially watch and check in on Rittenhouse's habits and behavior. While his motives to go to Kenosha may have been to protect, it was a massive error. He needs structure and guidance which he obviously did not get at home or at school. Now the court considers him innocent with no further legal involvement. My hope is that he matures intellectually and emotionally enough to reconsider his actions and the consequences which led to his arrest.

Perhaps elementary schools could develop courses regarding understanding the power of social media. For the "adults" who post irrelevant and dangerous comments, I would say please be careful. I always felt first, forgive yourself. In the sense of not blaming yourself for being the subject of abuse or trauma. Second, accept what the person did/occurrence happened. This act of acceptance does not equate it to permission or forgiveness. It allows you to not obsess, get into a tortuous loop, to move away from this "thing". This horrific thing, this person-monster, does not define YOU. As for forgiveness, that depends on so many factors. I agree with Jo, ultimately bestowing forgiveness is up to the person who experienced the trauma.

Admittedly the reluctance to be vaccinated is due to education and information issues, but disasters like the Opioid crisis has had a second major negative result. Many individuals have come to the conclusion that government does not properly police corporate activity and corporations themselves are first and last only concerned with profit not our safety and well-being. Hence we find ourselves in a situation with less than a majority of our population believing in the efficacy and need for national (and global) vaccination against communicable, potential deadly disease.

Under his watch the "well was poisoned" with every future contract Disney is involved with being subjected to intense scrutiny by potential talent. Disney cannot survive without masses of creatives (in front or behind the camera/keyboard) in their employ. Thanks to Mr. Chapek and his convoluted and isolating management structure, Disney's inventory of talent just got more difficult to employ and retain.

My advice would be to stay, fight by voting, fight by encouraging/enabling others to vote, fight by not running away. Texas is too great a place to let it stay under the control of unintelligent, illogical, irrational and uneducated politicians.

While it is sometimes hard to watch, I am so glad that this process is being explained as typical and shown. Having got by the critical moment of the boss pig meets new pig, my impulse upon seeing fur pulling and teeth chattering, would have been to separate everyone. I can now see that action would only prolong the squabbling. In a perfect fantasy world, I might say that an election could sort out the herd hierarchy peacefully. However since that process often does not work with humans, I am guessing the same would apply to all species.πŸ˜‰

While I stayed away from trailers and reviews, I have seen the older films and read through two of the books. Sadly I watched Dune at home (the IMAX version must be breathtaking), but completely enjoyed it. While I knew that they would not (and should not ) make it through the entire book in one movie, the ending was a little abrupt. I consider that a minor complaint. Denis Villeneuve truly honored the themes that Frank Herbert set up in Dune.

Intellectually I can see the judge's point, especially from a judge who has been frequently overruled in the past. Certain individuals who were in Wisconsin that day could have been called protestors, rioters, looters, arsonists depending on the situation. However Rittenhouse as a non-resident of Wisconsin who is not a member of a security service or active military is at best a vigilante and at worst a murderer.

I read several of Frank Herbert's books in the Dune series, saw the (1984) movie, do not remember the tv version (lol I barely remember tv as a concept) so I have many memories of Dune. The only things that (very briefly) took me out of the movie were, some of the VERY famous stars one almost unrecognizable. The 1984 film did have a certain sense of almost theater (as in stage) along with highly decorative costumes and sets along with an over-abundance of gravitas. This Paul, even Jessica is very relatable, very human albeit with fantastic martial arts skills. Unfortunately I had to see this movie at home, but I still loved it. A side benefit to a home viewing was that I could add cc to translate all those whispers. Maybe they will rerun this movie over the summer at an IMAX? That would be great PR for future installments.

posted to NatalieLawyerChick (RE: Rust film shooting) uploaded to You Tube 10/28/2021

I agree that the armorer and the AD have criminal liability with the producers, production company, insurer having civil liability. However the discovery of all the additional live rounds (beyond the one bullet which killed the cinematographer) on set is important. It indicates that individuals/companies cannot guarantee safety from an obvious danger. So what happens next...probably laws. No one likes being told what to do, how to do your job, what is permissible, but this incident will make "free choice" less of an option when running a movie set. That fact plus insurance companies (rightfully) hiking up premium payments on movie sets will force the film industry to comply.

Interesting with that influencer posing in a sexy manner in front of her dad's body. What bothers me more than the fact that it is a body, is the fact that it is her DAD'S body.

We are only hearing about the A-listers. I am sure there are character actors and indie directors who have valuable talents that are also asking their agents to negotiate very carefully with Disney. Could Disney move on and try to find people who sign contracts as many of us sign off on software updates (I suspect that a certain computer maker with a certain fruit icon owns my home, my car and all my internal organs). Sure there are many unemployed actors out there, however it will diminish Disney creatively and more importantly financially if they start casting and employing talent that will not add to a particular IP.

Everyone needs to stop screaming, virtually or actually as it has evolved into a mindless static which informs no one and changes no minds.

I agree that Laundrie had the legal right to not speak to the police. Unfortunately the Wyoming and Florida police departments made multiple mistakes which made the situation worse. For the Wyoming police, their mistake was primarily one of staffing. During a police stop for a well-being check there should have been immediate access to a social worker/therapist to evaluate the situation. Most patrol officers are not educated sufficiently to analyze domestic violence. Instructing two people who were observed in an altercation/argument to use judgement and stay apart for one evening was not realistic. The Florida police behavior was more problematic in that they basically "lost" their person of interest who had in the very recent past, showed a proclivity for running.

★★★★★

While it borrows some plot points from Train to Busan (2016 South Korean film), Blood Red Sky does have good character development and proficient acting among the primary actors. Much of the more gruesome violence is dimly lit, but sound effects and the soundtrack effectively explains what may not be shown. As with many movies, bad decisions are made to advance the plot. However beyond yelling at my screen, I was not taken out of the film. There is a resolution, a definitive end which is a nice change from many recent films. Not every film has to provide new IP or a mid-credit scene. A movie as a single thing of imagination can illustrate what may happen when prejudice, stupidity and viral infections collide.

I usually gravitate towards (thick) cloth bags like: HAIKU. HAIKU states that at least 20% of the bag is recycled content, but I have never done research to check their data. They do advertise that their bags are "water resistant" so I am not sure if that equates to environmentally friendly or not. I like simple, classic bags with a touch of fun (embroidered flower, patterned material). The ChloΓ© bag does look beautiful, is it worth it? Maybe considering the crafting and materials, but I usually try to keep my bags under $50-usd. However I did break that rule once, when I bought a wallet by Anna by Anuschka. It was not a collectable purchase, I bought it for love (and about $60-usd).

Just ask the Blizzard/Activision executives.  Admittedly I have not thoroughly researched the accusations against Gov. Cuomo. My general feelings are that he should resign with Lieutenant Governor Kathleen C. Hochul being appointed Governor until the term ends in November 2022. His power as a Governor has been seriously compromised especially considering his order to return COVID-positive patients to care homes, adjust COVID stats and no doubt fuel the spread throughout the care homes.

I am lucky. I have one eye that is legally blind along with one eye with useable vision. The eye that is blind is slightly different in size from the sighted one. Due to my lack of depth perception when walking I must always have a death grip on bannisters and pay close attention to the light and the shadows near curbs. I think we stare at or look away from those who are different due to the fact that from a very early age on we do not learn and play with children of various abilities and appearances. Ironically this can result in adults who have a distorted world view of what is normal and acceptable. Information on our differences should be taught to all of us from a very young age. As usual education is the answer to so many issues in our world.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/05/opinions/how-to-move-people-from-hesitant-to-vaccinated-bregman-jacobson/index.html
Basically article indicates that we (aka pro-vaccination) allow the person to talk about their reasons for the hesitancy, do not confront or challenge the person, end the conversation without expecting a definitive response...and I guess one walks away with hope for a positive response? I just do not know. I think a badly educated population due to budget cuts, a lack of exposure to differing views and the inevitable lack of ethical behavior of some drug corporations (remember the opioid crisis) is proving to be literally deadly for some of us. Remember those factors the next time a school system cuts courses or evening classes or your U.S. representative/senator votes against education funding and reform.

The Disney CEO probably could have gotten away with this gaffe had the mishandling of Scarlett Johansson's contract never happened. Every new CEO, whatever corporation is, needs to set the correct tone year one. The current CEO of Disney has set the wrong tone. Every future contract negotiation and every public comment is going to be examined with extreme intensity. Fair? Maybe not, but when you are a CEO of a corporation who depends heavily on creative talent, if you are not a visionary or even a good speaker, hire some good people who have those abilities.

posted to Channel Awesome (RE: The Suicide Squad 2021v.) You Tube 08/05/2021

I did not mind the first film directed by David Ayer (and certain anonymous studio heads).  I could see its multiple flaws but still liked the "gloss" and of course Harley Quinn. Oddly now I like the Ayer film a lot less, well except for Harley Quinn. James Gunn's, The Suicide Squad, in spite of the lower theater revenue (aka COVID and streaming effects), will now be one of my top 10 favorite DC movies.

posted to Fandom Entertainment (RE: Goodbye to Roth) uploaded to You Tube 08/09/2021

It is so typical of Roth, to spend this goodbye by praising her soon-to-be former co-workers. I have no specific video memories. However I do have a strong audio memory of her maniacal and infectious giggle. She brightened my day with her attitude and knowledge. I would like to borrow a phrase to send her off in style, "Never give up, never surrender!"❤️

posted to Little Adventures (RE: Garden (herbs) for Guinea Pigs) uploaded to You Tube 08/21/2021

I have to do a major clean of the guinea pig cage tonight, so maybe in their play yard I will set up a garden game for my two pigs. Basically it is a game of hide (= the greens) and seek (= the pigs). They are always 100% accurate and much faster finding greens than the time it takes for the  human who is trying to carefully place the greens.

❤️QUESTION❤️: I am abysmally ignorant on herbs (so sorry!), so my guesses on herbs are: curly leaf parsley, flat leaf (maybe cilantro) parsley, chervil, thyme and basil. I want to expand my 2 girls' palates. The only herb that they adore is parsley. They ignored cilantro and fennel. I need "fan" favorites of my favorite herd on social media.❤️

posted to Little Adventures (RE: Weirdest Guinea Pig Moments) uploaded to You Tube 08/25/2021

It is funny that guinea pigs seem to mirror human behavior. There is some bickering, someone makes a mess then just walks away, someone gets the coveted area, occasionally one or two roommates just do not want to be bothered to socialize but way way way down deep they all care about one another. I remember those behaviors from school. Fortunately none of my roommates required me to cut their nails and hair. πŸ˜‰

The Fendi collection proves that a definitive designer vision for a collection's theme is critical but also is excellent tailoring, attractive silhouette, intricate materials and artisans to piece it together. I understand the important theme of history that Kerby-Jean Raymond was trying to convey, perhaps he should have added a second set of looks in the same collection using the feeling, colors and shapes to reflect more subtly what the more literal fashion was presenting.

My(07/02/2021)comment to TheRingOfFire (RE: Trump ) video uploaded to You Tube 06/30/2021

No he is not just a coward. Mr. Trump is that middle school bully who never grew up. He got kicked out of the school where he was feared and followed only to land in a place where his power is reduced, devalued and even ignored.

My comment to Breakfast All Day Podcast (RE: news&discussion) uploaded to YouTube 07/03/2021

My 10 movies that I have watched at least 10 times each (in no particular order): The Fifth Element (1997), Star Wars 4(1977), 5(1980), 6(1983), Rebecca (1940), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), The Addams Family (2019), Moana (2016), Captain Marvel (2019) and Citizen Kane (1941). I am sure there are more, because I have no life, but those 10 popped up first.  Oh one more, yes some of the dialogue is clunky, but is a visual stunner;  Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017). If you can turn off your frontal lobe, that movie is a plethora of pleasures.

My comment to Breakfast All Day Podcast (RE: review of Tomorrow War) YouTube 07/02/2021

Interesting dichotomy between the critics "above" (Christy,  Alonso, Matt) and the critics "below" (comments). The trailer looked somewhat dumb to me, but now I am curious. Since it is "free" on Amazon Prime, I will give it a view.

Just watched it. I know that this movie contained lots of tropes (it could have been titled, "Fathers' Day"), countless "borrowing" from other movies (good party game material), logic flow (forget about it) and climate change allusion @1:45:30. All that being said, this is a decent popcorn movie which needed tighter editing. I was ok with the creature creations. A one-time nickname given to the J.K. Simmons character towards the end of the movie was hysterical. J.K. Simmons' closing lines at the end of the movie while ordinary,  out of the mouth of J.K. they were elevated to sardonic humor. I am NOT going to watch this movie again, but I do not wish for time travel to get those 2 hours and 20 minutes of my life back.

My comment to pin'd comment on Observe (RE: Gabbie Hanna) You Tube 07/05/2021

I do not watch her videos, but judging from this video (and knowing she has wide presence on social media), she appears to be comfortable sharing personal details. It might prove valuable (both monetarily and emotionally) if she pushes a little further. Such as "Gabbie Journeys To Health", learning from reputable sources regarding: (1)meditation, (2) physical activity (aerobic exercise, running etc.), (3) studying a specific religion/lifestyle, (4) creativity (painting, learning calligraphy etc.), (5) nutritional plans.  Maybe she would end the series more self-aware or maybe  there would be no change. Either way, one thing that such a series might provide would be public proof of her wishing to be better without resorting to the usual, ineffective but seemingly omnipresent...You Tube apology video.

My comment to John Campea (RE: Stephen Dorff) uploaded to You Tube 07/06/2021

Came for the news, stayed for the rant.

Seriously, I believe that The Hollywood Reporter has a decent reputation for accuracy in reporting. I can only assume that Mr. Dorff has enough bitcoin to stretch to Mars. That planet may be the closest place to this one at which Mr. Dorff can find employment if he continues to deride people in the film industry. I mean who knows, maybe Bezos or Musk will have him appear in a location documentary. My only hope is that he is required by contract to wear spandex and a cape (mask with oxygen is optional).

My comment to David Pakman (RE: COVID-19) uploaded to You Tube 07/06/2021

It is a puzzling situation. I got both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine not just to keep myself alive, but to prevent me from infecting others. I wore a mask not to protect me, but to protect others. Although a side benefit was that it cut down my pollen sneezing.  I have lived in a U.S. state in the New England area most of my life. Perhaps that is why all this is so shocking. I assumed logic would prevail. People no longer need to die from this virus, yet they seem to be more willing to accept death without being vaccinated, then life with being vaccinated.

My comment to Farron Balanced (RE: Arizona Recount...Again) uploaded to You Tube 07/11/2021

The CyberNinjas should turn in their ninja garb, go back to the dojo, prostrate themselves on the floor in front of their sensei and state that they are not worthy. As for the Arizona Republicans requesting ANOTHER audit, perhaps a mental health audit would be more appropriate and useful.

My comment to Dan Murrell (Loki Episode 6 Review) uploaded to You Tube 07/14/2021

I also felt a little let down with the "bridge" function of Loki episode 6. However, I trust Marvel (actually Kevin Feige) for having a vision (pun sort of intended) of this universe.  Unfortunately I have the patience of a mayfly. As far as I can determine, Marvel/Disney is hoping Loki season 2 will land January 2022. I think that the new Dr. Strange film (in the Multiverse of Madness) is coming March 2022? Even more horrifically for my binge-afflicted psyche, the next Ant-Man movie (Quantumania) comes out in 2023 per my online search. Stasis chamber anyone?πŸ˜‰

My comment to Dan Murrell (Escape Room 2 Review) uploaded to You Tube 07/16/2021

Good on Dan Murrell for mentioning that Taylor Russell ("Zoey"), Logan Miller ("Ben") and Deborah Ann Wolf ("Amanda") have all been in much better productions. MAYBE make this data a feature regarding all actors who find themselves locked into a less than adequate film? At least no one responsible for this movie tried misdirect the public in the film's theme. Although with a movie heavily concerned with puzzle solving, misdirection might actually be relevant.

My comment to natalielawyerchick (V.S. Karen part 2) uploaded to You Tube (07/14/2021)

I do not care if the "Karen" was off her meds, mentally ill or just felt entitled, the woman who filmed the entire incident did the right thing. Actually anyone no matter their color or sexual identity should film the incident. Justice is a dish best served with a generous portion of undeniable proof. Who knew that the invasive, omnipresent and addictive smart phones would turn out to be our best hope for justice. (and yes I have used several film clichΓ©s in my commentπŸ˜‰).

More on the anti-vaccine nurse      https://meaww.com/who-was-olivia-guidry-louisiana-nurse-dies-of-covid-19-after-posting-vaccine-isnt-safe

Per post on her FB page, she may have had pre-existing heart issues, which would make COVID-19 even more deadly. Ironically she dreamed about going to medical school. My thoughts are with her family. However we have to be better at education whether the "student" is 5 or 95. Ignorance appears also to be a pre-existing condition that the virus can use to its advantage.

My comment to CNN/Chris Cillizza (RE: COVID-19 map ) uploaded to You Tube (07/13/2021)

Our country is divided on so many issues, how could COVID-19 vaccine be any different.  The bigger question is why the red states have not used the blue states as a beta test. Many of the blue states have less hospitalizations, less deaths and less new cases.  So we are left with the question that I cannot wrap my heard around, WHY are they not looking at the evidence and learning?  If they distrust the source (anyone who is not Fox News or one of their lesser clones) all they have to do is visit a local hospital...oh wait they also won't wear masks (I am guessing all those seasons of Grey's Anatomy were a waste of their time). We are in a loop that will eventually strangle us all.

My comment to CNN/Anderson Cooper (RE: Arkansas and COVID) You Tube (07/23/2021)

It was both disheartening and confounding to hear a woman whose young son got COVID and is still having symptoms say that she will not get the vaccine. For those who are afraid of the vaccine or do not trust the government should know that almost 50% of us in the U.S. have received both doses of vaccine. To the best of my knowledge none of us are magnetic, glow in the dark or have turned fuchsia. One thing that we do have is a truce with COVID-19.

My comment to David Pakman Show (RE: Unvaccinated Deaths) You Tube 07/22/2021

Linda Zuern lived and died in Massachusetts. Massachusetts is one of the top ten U. S. states that is fully vaccinated. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations

She must have lived among co-workers, friends and relatives who were vaccinated. Yet she died. Her obituary indicated a woman who wanted to give back and help others. Yet she did not get vaccinated. https://www.capecodtimes.com/story/news/2021/07/20/cape-cod-activist-and-public-servant-linda-zuern-dies-covid-19/8012431002/

The time has arrived when those of us who are vaccinated must reconnect with friends and relatives to gently without blame and carefully without mentioning politics, persuade these people to get vaccinated.

My comment to Breakfast All Day (RE: Bezos, etc.) uploaded to You Tube 07/25/2021

While I agree with Bezos, in that the flight would be fun, the optics of a rich guy doing a thing that only a rich guy (or astronaut) can do is never going to change hearts and minds.  Well except for all the novice scriptwriters now furiously penning projects where the rich guy gets launched into space by accident and has to have an arc where he succeeds gloriously or maybe get commandeered  by Aliens with no sensors in place to avoid self-entitled lifeforms.

My comment to Breakfast All Day (RE: OLD review) uploaded to You Tube 07/25/2021

I have only seen the trailer, but an M. Night Shyamalan film is like that proverbial "...box of chocolates..." only in this case you never know if the box contains actual chocolates or packing peanuts. So I did a bad thing, I checked out a spoiler site. Basically I am not seeing this movie, because...well packing peanuts. I like the actors, but not so much the plot and its resolution with the overabundance of logic-flaws.

My answer to community question of Footless Joe (RE: Does it make you stronger)YouTube 07/26/21

While I would prefer that good always wins over evil, that is not the way our universe appears to work.  Trauma is not ennobling, it is just a first line of an equation which only leads to two choices, to survive or to die. When I was very ill, I treated my journey as a long slog through heavy/wet snow. That is not a metaphor as I live in a place in the U.S. that very often is full of that oddly heavy yet pretty stuff. It is a very prosaic analogy, but just like Dory I choose to keep on moving. However I am fine with the 37% (poll results as of this comment) who said yes, we are all headed in the same direction.

My comment to  Doctor Mike Hansen   (RE: COVID-19 Delta variant)  You Tube 07/28/2021

Admittedly there was damage inflicted by the misinformation, ignorance and inaction of the previous U. S. administration (45th president). However, we in the United States are now paying the price for inadequate education, specifically in the sciences, for our citizens. I do agree that mega corporations can be self-serving, valuing profit before people. However I did my research before my two doses of vaccine. I fully realize that I am in a very large beta group for a vaccine that has only had emergency approval. When or if a booster becomes necessary I will take that booster as soon as I can. I have "run the numbers" in my head. For the sake of my own health and the health of the immuno-compromised along with those under 12 who can not be vaccinated, I see no other alternative than take the booster should that become necessary.

My comment to John Campea (RE: Scarlett Johansson) uploaded to You Tune 07/30/2021

What is all this posturing by Disney? Scarlett Johansson has a contract. All I can think of is that Disney execs want to impress the shareholders on how strenuously they work to keep those billions flowing. Or consider this story, Disney likes stories, regarding the child who bullies someone on the playground. The victim has finally reached her endurance level and hits the bully. Now that bully can tell adults, "she hit me first" without going into details. What we are seeing now is just the CEO version of that unfortunate fable.

My comment (made 06/02/2021) to The Ring of Fire (RE: Arizona vote audit) uploaded on 05/27/2021

If Arizona Democrats were smart, in every single print or video ad for Republican seats whose term is ending within the next few years, add the following in uppercase bolded font..."Arizona taxpayers will have to absorb all the expenses for the unnecessary recounts, audits and court cases initiated by Republicans regarding the 2020 Presidential election."

My comment to Internet Today (RE: Autonomous Killer Robots...TechNewsDay) 06/04/2021

Forget about those drones being used by foreign terrorists. Guess where extra military tech often goes...local law enforcement agencies. You know those guys right? They are the ones who cannot (or will not) tell the difference between a taser and a gun? Meanwhile, Tony Stark would not be pleased with that tech being used for war. Oh wait, that is Marvel not America. Never mind.

My comment to David Pakman's "YouTube Comment of The Day" posted on  06/07/2021

Actually wearing the mask can alleviate some allergies and avoid catching "normal" colds. I am fully vaccinated, but still wear a mask when shopping or going to an enclosed location where there are strangers. When I visited Japan in 2012, I noticed many people wearing masks. They do it for a variety of reasons like allergy, protection but most importantly to prevent their cold from spreading to others. In other words to not be dishonorable by infecting others. Somehow I do not believe dishonor, never mind science is in the hearts and minds of those who have politicized a simple, effective and inexpensive health measure.

My comment to David Pakman (RE:  Alex Jones) uploaded to You Tube June 14 2021

Alex Jones is a walking, talking and (I believe) breathing, cartoon.  If he announced that the earth revolved around the sun, I would spend a good 30 minutes on the internet...just to be sure that my memories of science class data was accurate. Admittedly my hyperbole is overdone, but then so is Mr. Jones. He has proven time and time again that he is more into fables and fantasies than reality and real events.

My comment to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Covid Vaccine Magnetism Conspiracy Theory) 06/13/2021

That is an excellent point by Dr. Grande. Instead of being furious at these outliers who believe that we are all being turned into X-Men (not an uncomfortable thought at least for me), we should spend our energy producing critical thinkers. For the next local, state and/or national elections we should all be voting for candidates who support schools, science and sanity. Well, at least our lists will be short. πŸ˜‰

My comment to David Pakman (RE: Trump emails show pressure on DOJ) You Tube 06/16/2021

While the term, "ethical politician" is almost an oxymoron, really is anyone surprised, shocked or appalled at this point by those who worked in the Trump administration, from top to bottom?  Everyone and everything being so consistently wrong almost seems like a bad B movie, not reality. All we can do is vote very very carefully. Unfortunately that means trying to avoid voting Republican. Unfortunate, because having only one party in power will not end well for anyone.  However with Republicans still thoroughly immersed in a cult of Trump, what else can voters do.

My comment to The Late Show w/Colbert (RE: The Patient Still Recovering) You Tube 06/16/2021

I always felt that it was plausible that the COVID-19 virus could have"escaped" from the lab. However further investigation was necessary to make that a provable fact.. I groaned when I heard Trump referring to the virus in a racial context repeatedly. I am guessing that rant was not conducive to any sharing of data. We basically live on one ship so what hurts one will eventually hurt all.

My comment to LegalEagle #Short (RE: Pledge to Allegiance) You Tube 06/20/2021

My comment to Breakfast All Day (RE: review of Luca) You Tube 06/20/2021

I did not even check Disney +. There is so MUCH streaming content out there. I just assumed Disney was going to try to wring some of that "I can't wait 2 months so I will pay $29.99 now" cash. I will check it out right after this video. Thanks!

Just watched it. I loved it. It is a simple story, but it does not pander to anyone. It creates a world without a lot of expository dialogue. Stay for the credits as the accompanying images are kind of an epilogue to this story. There is a very funny zinger at the end of the credits, especially if you recognize (or IMDb) the voice actor. There is a funny explanation towards the end of the credits regarding the creation of this movie. It was both hysterical and quite apt.

My comment to David Pakman Show (RE: COVID rising among unvaccinated) You Tube 06/20/2021

It is so depressing to see the statistics showing that most of the highly vaccinated places in the U.S. are in blue states. Even after 4 years of hell with the former president accompanied by a pandemic, I still can not get my mind to accept that about 50% of the United States is so poorly informed and tribal that they will risk death. Or even worse to become a vector that transmits the virus to an immunocompromised adult or child.
While I would like to blame Trump for it all, I think that it started earlier than 2016 with education budget cuts and news sources going for clicks not facts.

My comment to The Ring of Fire (RE: Arizona Recount to a Montana forest) You Tube 06/20/2021

And when the ballots are finally returned from that Montana forest undisclosed location, the winner could be almost anyone from that witch in Hansel and Gretel to some random fire watcher in a Montana fire lookout tower. My comment to  PossessedbyHorror (RE: ReWatchable Horror Movies )You Tube 06/16/2021

I also only watch "good" horror movies once. Maybe because I remember the particular scares along with the timing, also you know the survival and/or kill count. However "bad" really really bad horror movies can amuse me. This category of horror movies can provide free entertainment at parties. They are eminently re-watchable with the proper snacks while doing a MST3000/RiffTrax-type running commentary. My comfort movies change with the years. My current comfort movies (none of which are ever of horror genre)are: The Mitchells vs. The Machines (2021), The Addams Family (2019) and the Marvel (2021) series LOKI (as of this post only 2 out of 6 episodes are up).

My comment to The Ring of Fire (RE: Capital Rioters Did Not Vote) uploaded to You Tube 06/19/2021

Actually I kind of hope that the not-registered to vote or did not vote contingents are statistically small. Knowing how the Republicans view January 6, if this group is statistically significant it might feed into the delusion of certain Republicans that most of the mob was primarily composed of non-Trump supporters/voters.

My comment to CNN (RE: Arizona vote audit) uploaded to You Tube 06/19/2021

I appreciate CNN finding this individual. Mr. Broomhead is a conservative Republican who voted for Trump...twice, yet he appears to be coherent, intelligent and self-aware. He is right. There are important elections in the near future. Citizens of Arizona should be furious that money is being squandered on a process that will not gain their state or the U.S. any substantive result. To add a third ring to this circus, ARIZONA voting system data is being transferred to "A LAB IN MONTANA". So their endgame is to drive everyone insane?

My comment to Dan Murrell (RE: Charts with Dan!) uploaded to You Tube 06/21/2021

I can only speak for myself, but I still feel tentative about revisiting the movie theater experience. Even being fully vaccinated, when I walk into a grocery store "unmasked" (sounds like demoted super-hero πŸ™„) I do feel like I am doing something ill-advised. Before the pandemic I was a frequent (several times a month) movie goer using AMC and Showcase Cinema discount programs/days. Not sure what will finally get me into a theater. I suspect it will be time passing, not movies debuting.

My comment to Doctor Mike Hansen   (RE: origin of COVID-19) uploaded to You Tube 06/21/2021)

As with any novel disease or virus, careful research needs to be done to confirm the origin. That being said, I do agree that the lab origin theory is plausible, but not necessarily the entire event.  My hypothesis (obviously unproven) is that the security at the lab (in other words what can be brought in or taken out) at the lab was lax, safety protocols may not have been followed (as in possible improper disposal of bio-hazard items) or even a low-paid maintenance worker looking at certain items casually thrown away to be a possible food or income (local wet market) source. Add human error to the reluctance of  a local/national government to share details with the outside world (aka WHO) and a pandemic could arise. Blame is not productive, sharing knowledge, research and data among scientists globally is the best course.

My comment to Philip DeFranco (RE: Billie Eilish, et al) uploaded to You Tube 06/22/2021

While I am not excusing any comments made by Billie Eilish which are currently problematic, we have to factor in her age when the comments were made and how her behavior has been in the last few years. If those factors were translated into numbers, the solution to this "mathematical equation", would most likely equate to a positive (not negatively random) number. Just saying....πŸ˜‰

My comment to Emily D. Baker (RE: Giuliani suspension from NY bar) You Tube 06/25/2021

Missed the live stream, my fault. Listening to the usual Emily D. Baker opening warning for all of us to not besmirch, disparage or cast hate at anyone. Text of Mr. Giuliani's speeches, especially on the morning of January 6 2021, precludes the need for any of us to do any of that. Seriously though I too wonder, what happened? Maybe the NYC mayor and attorney of decades ago was the doppelgΓ€nger and what we have had since 2016 is the "real" one? Either way, it is sad and shocking.

My comment to Ring of Fire (RE: Prediction Trump Would Sacrifice His Children)YouTube 06/26/2021

I am not holding onto any hope of imprisonment, it would not bring back the over 600,000 people who died in this country nor of course the millions who died worldwide. In a perfect reality where justice and intelligence  always prevails; the ideal conclusion would be that no one in Trump's gang/mob (continuing the Mafia analogy) ever runs for public office or has the power to influence elections ever again. In certain groups, I believe it is called, "shunning".

My comment to Mia Maples (RE: Going out shopping wearing princess dresses) You Tube 06/27/2021

Due to last minute plans, my friend and I had to visit an ATM...located in the front of a store. Sure always moderately stressful when trying to remember your pin or pw. However there was an added level of stress as my friend and I were dressed head to toe in medieval cosplay. Maybe it was my imagination, but all I remember was that we were in a store full of customers, sales people and those perennially honest and outspoken humans;  children. You could hear the proverbial pin drop. We departed quickly with our 21st century cash (often at this particular faire there was a cash discount) and 14th century outfits. So I am having a bit of PTSD even before this video begins.

My comment to Philip DeFranco (RE: Brittany and Jaime Lynn Spears) You Tube 06/29/2021

I really do not know Jamie Lynn Spears or the mom, Lynn 's part in this 13 year ordeal. Perhaps they were blackmailed into being quiet, threatened with loss of contact with Brittany should either speak up in media or in print. However, I was not impressed with the recent Jamie Lynn Spears statement. This conservatorship law needs to be changed. It should help the permanently impaired, not imprison those who simply need guidance regarding their meds. Google indicates that the penalty for "voluntary manslaughter consists of fines, 10 years or less in prison, or both".  Brittany has been "imprisoned" for 13 years, while still earning millions which went directly to the conservatorship. Whatever her past and current issues, her situation is onerous and should be reduced or eliminated.

My comment to same show/date but the pined comment regarding use of social and news media:

My usage has actually slightly increased due to Twitter and FB finally shutting off the most prolific source of untreated sewage in the U.S. The COVID pandemic and quarantine did get me watching news, to a certain extent. Admittedly I am avoiding clickbait that contains the term "Republican" as it is never productive or informative, just depressing.

My comment to Farron Balanced (RE: MyPillow CEO) uploaded to You Tube 06/28/2021

While the MyPillow guy may be a few pillows short of a dozen, the Republicans stonewalling most legislation presented by anyone not in their group do not have that excuse. They do possess the seemingly overwhelming need to be re-elected at whatever cost to their constituents and the citizens and residents of the U.S.

My comment to The Ring of Fire (RE: incompetence of Congressman Gosar) uploaded 06/29/2021

Censuring, while symbolic, would at least give the Democrats running in Gosar's state details that can be provided to voters who vote Republican no matter what the candidate's character, intelligence and abilities are. Incumbents, irregardless as to their party affiliation, should be held accountable for EVERYTHING that they do (or did not do) as a member of Congress or the Senate during their elected term.

My comment Doctor Mike Hansen (RE: Death of Jacob Clynick-born 2007 after 2nd dose)06/29/2021

QUESTION FOR DOCTOR MIKE HANSEN:   Did this child have Down Syndrome? His image reminds me so much of my cousin. Along with many other factors in this syndrome, can be heart issues. These heart defects may not be obvious at birth. This is a tragedy. The family deserves to know how this happened as soon as possible, for them and for any others who may be at risk.
