My comment to Jeremy Jahns  (RE: Invincible: Season 1) video uploaded April 30 2021

No spoilers, so I cannot give specifics to prove why I liked this series. In generalities, the voice acting cast, the story themes, the animation is effective, visceral and evocative. Early in the series, there is a little more teenage angst than I would like, but it diminishes to manageable amounts in plot time as the series moves on. While the ending is satisfactory, keep in mind that this is a huge (book) series so every plot thread is not answered in episode 8 (end of season one).

Heard of "Elf On The Shelf"? Well in my home, my 2 cats have:  Catnip Mice On The Cat Tree. As with said "Elves", these mice are constantly on the move. However never ever when one or both of the cats are awake. They are cats, so I have plenty of their sleep time to move these mice. I graduated from college and now I play (and sometimes lose) mind games with cats.

Nice, now it's middle school again. Your best friend finally dropped their abusive companion and now everyone is re-inviting said friend to the table. Of course what is scaring all the friends, is that this victim/survivor talks about this abuser at lunch and at recess wondering if the separation was a mistake. This scenario is right up with my old nightmares regarding going to school in pjs and forgetting the final exam was today.

Unfortunately there is so much misinformation (widely promulgated by the Trump administration, well excluding one respected physician at the CDC) matched with distrust of corporations (big pharma can come through with vaccines, but can also make our prescriptions absurdly expensive) that celebrities with huge followings do not have the luxury to be stupid, lazy or both. That is our reality. We have to live with it or ask Elon Musk about SpaceX tickets. (BTW I think that they are one-way).

This incident is a "poster-child" in regards to promoting improved academy admittance rules, along with tactical and mental health training along with need for actual mental health professionals as an adjunct to active police work. Yes, like many of us police are prejudiced. However they are also armed which has repeatedly proven itself to be a lethal combination. Police need to re-trained not de-funded. Sadly many will use the easier route, lower policing budgets and then wonder why this abuse and incompetence continues to occur. It always amazes me when people who literally grew up in front of computers do not truly grasp its power. That being said no bodily harm was threatened, no armed attack was planned. It was just 2 teens whose frontal lobes have not yet fully formed. Were I that school's principal I would assign punishment covering a 6 month  period along with a notation on a permanent record or avoid the punishment and permanent record issues by attendance and completion of  a course on Privacy, Ethics and the Internet. I am sure that there is an online class for that!

When I read the thumbnail I laughed. For a lobbyist to tell a news source, "no comment" when questioned about Gaetz is beyond hysterical floating into the surreal. A lobbyist's mission statement is to talk. They will talk about anything for the opportunity to propel their employer's needs, wants and wishes into public view. I am guessing DOJ is waiting to pounce on Gaetz until they have a 99% chance of winning their case. The Republicans are probably waiting to request Gaetz's resignation until a suitable (Republican) replacement can be found. Is it 2023 yet?

My theories about the Giuliani of 9/11 and the current simulacrum that calls itself "Giuliani": 

(1) He had an excellent administrative staff to back him up September 11 2001, all he had to do is make speeches and look presentable.

As we have seen, the police have considerable (human) training issues to grapple with such as knowing the difference between a taser and a gun along with other issues when handling a suspect who may be mentally ill or even, gasp, innocent. Giving police access to tech normally used in military situations by specially trained soldiers or formerly operated in a lab with quality tech support, is not prudent. However:

QUERY: Is it legal for equipment used by a highly trained (for example) SEAL team to be used by local police department?

I agree with most of them, except for jump scares. I would choose "Please Stop Doing This". Scares can be very nicely and profitably transmitted with good writing, on point acting and imaginative set design. Those hyper-loud jump scares can literally lead me to develop a migraine. It kind of becomes my own mini horror movie. Full onset of my migraine usually peaks at about one-half hour after initial acquisition. I have to get myself to someplace safe, FAST. Hence I always check out sites and reviews before I see a horror movie.

I am glad that Jo mentioned that soon after the operation, the process of learning to adapt becomes the new normal. I went through a long process for a life-threatening disease. Fighting it was my life. After winning said fight and no longer seeing doctors, nurses and rehab people who my brain had accepted as my forever companions was jarring in an odd way. I am not sure if my situation was typical or not. My advice is simply to accept help whether physical, emotional or remedial in order to "graduate" to the next part of your life.

Unfortunately I make the same mistakes regarding all of my animals. I buy a toy,  safe. healthy and most importantly real cute to me. I put it in front of the animal...and crickets (not real ones), no engagement with toy at all. The guinea pigs and cats will ignore my mistakes. However Keiko (the chinchilla) will go the extra mile and dump it in a corner of her cage. This corner is where she deposits her trash (chewed toys she no longer wants). So I remove the fresh, new unchewed toy from "trash" and put it back into a play area.  Five minutes later it is back in trash. Result: chinchilla 1 and human - 1 (less than zero as I have lost money...and my pride).

This should be illegal (hence the trope that free speech does not indicate one can falsely yell fire in a crowded theater), but Tucker gets a pass by blurring the meaning between news and editorial/opinion. Judging by the fact that our EX-(love that word)President is up and around at Mar-a-Lago without an ankle bracelet, I would say that Tucker spinning wild tales on video will not be prosecuted. Sadly we have learned allowing famous people to spew lies which can lead to dangerous situations is not always successfully prosecuted. However filing a one billion dollar lawsuit regarding slander, now that elicits compliance at light-speed.

While it sounds like everyone (at least legally) was being very careful, I wonder about the man himself. I am new to this situation (and channel), but I do know that those who are attracted to content such as Josh Duggar has shown, are very resistant to change. I am only partially into this video, so perhaps that will be addressed. Caging someone temporarily will benefit innocents from this individual. However Josh Duggar is 33 years old as of this comment. His lifespan is probably 40+ more years. His extended family is huge. My question is, how can this individual ever become safe enough to release into general society or even mixing with his own extended family?

In general I was disappointed by this series. I liked the flashbacks and disliked the current day stories. The "elders" were clueless as to their job in the 21st century while the progeny were mostly whiney and quite immature. While the thesis concerning the change in Villains was valid, this "next gen" heroes were very binary in their behavior. They had 2 modes, blind obedience to The Utopian or a complete rejection of the hero's creed. Not sure if this is based on a graphic novel or not, but to survive and be relevant this series need MUCH better writing and coherent themes.

Gather the older You Tubers who messed up a few years ago, who have now grown and  matured. Next set up a You Tube advisory council with at least 2 You Tube employees along with these veteran You Tubers.This would hopefully be a mentoring group to the "younglings" (<---Star Wars ref). Perhaps 2 -3  mandatory sessions which must be completed in order to upload videos to You Tube and be monetized. As for those who fail, doing things like finding dead bodies in Japan and posting videos,  these individuals must attend a remedial session before they can return to being monetized. Not going to happen, but just a thought. It is so painful watching so many crash and burn before they even turn 30.

I would reluctantly pick the Dua Lipa (Vivienne Westwood) look as my top choice. Reluctantly because my eyes go right to the stockings and shoes, in a bad way. I did appreciate the choker though. I think Rina Sawayama's look (Balmain) was sad. The top half of the dress looked like someone had tried to channel Iris Van Herpen, but utterly failed. I am giving Billy Porter an honorable mention for two reasons, (1) he can wear anything and (2) his charisma or whatever it is jumps off the screen to make me smile. Being reminded that I can smile...priceless.

I respectfully disagree. Malicious is defined as being characterized by malice; intending or intended to do harm. As such malice involves planning, forethought and a deliberate path. Judging by the unbelievable level of ineptitude and hubris of the Trump Administration, malice while a part of their algorithm for handling just about anything, was not the dominant culprit. A multitude of issues were mishandled which included almost everything that administration handled which included, but not limited to the areas of immigration, Russian interference in U.S. government, a pandemic and an insurrection. Even before the November 2020 election the circle around Trump was filled with sycophants and incompetents. Dr. Fauci being the solitary exception who was unfortunately in a position of limited power. After the November 2020 election the remaining coterie around Trump were soulless, helpless, with their only expertise being the state of cluelessness.

My migraines mostly occurred in my teens and twenties. They have calmed down now. In my case, migraines would begin with pretty twinkling bright white starry lights before my descent into pain and nausea. While a strobing light (oddly it would have to be natural light coming over a hill or through a grove of trees) ignited my migraines, their foundation was built on (1) lack of sleep (2) lack of sustenance and (3) emotional stress. Whether it is the aging process or me taking better care of myself, my migraines are currently, hopefully permanently, rarely occurring.

This video should be a 4 or 5 part mentoring program. You Tube is a business using ads but with its product inventory being art, creativity and imagination. It is a daily fight getting that round peg to fit into a square hole. There should be more help beyond analytics, as in more help for new creators from actual humans. I wish it were emotionally safe to read the comments. Thank you Abby for sharing so much yet still maintaining sanity. That combination has been so helpful getting me, and I am sure others, through this pandemic. I mean vaccines and masks can only take you so far right?😉

I agree that this plan is so needed. The internet, specifically social media, has advanced so quickly that the laws have not kept up with the issues and problems created. The proposal made on this channel regarding family vloggers seems practical and relatively easy to implement. Mentors are always needed. As was said why re-invent the wheel? Teach these people now so that their future is NOT filled with demonetization, de-platforming, emotional turmoil and the seemingly endless release of those dreaded apology videos.

I have discovered that some require a battery, some require a human and some just require catnip.  While I admit to some success with the catnip option, here is a list of my two cats' fav toys: crumpled paper (has to be that brown crinkly packing paper), empty cardboard boxes (any size) and my nail files (these are stolen by cat are quickly retrieved by human).It is a tail/tale "as old as time". 😉

Ideally I would choose a Burberry coat from a thrift/vintage shop. A new one is not a financial option for me. Except for my shoes and jeans all my clothing and outerwear comes from (usually online) thrift/second hand/vintage shops. I live in a very changeable climate so versatile outerwear is a necessity. One day may feel as if all 4 seasons have passed through. My outerwear ideally has an insulating, but not thick lining, inner zippers, outer buttons, hood with closure, deep pockets and water resistant. Optimum length for me is just below my knees.

Since I do buy shoes (which must be the difficult combination of leather, excellent arch support, yet classic in appearance) and jeans (sadly the only ones that fit me properly are of fast fashion in origin) at retail price, I would enjoy learning about other options.

These shows are too easy! Botox injections in any of the participants (all genders) does not even equate to a "handicap" for reading these faces and body language on relationship reality shows. If I release my schadenfreude, I can see how these shows can be wickedly entertaining...just not for me.

Now if Observe wants a REAL challenge, read a Real Housewives show, but do it on mute first, then later with audio. These people (again all genders) have been so altered it is amazing that they can sneeze. Not hearing that actual words would be the ultimate challenge, but I feel you can do it.

I hope that this case when resolved does more than punish only one or two people. Police training needs to be revised. Methods of restraint needs to be improved. I use FB as kind of a video Pinterest. Lots of saved videos from from sites involving SNL, musicals, comedies, superhero stuff and of course cats (real ones not the aberration that is CATS the movie-musical). As far as I know beyond my name and address (and shhh maybe an obsolete phone number), FB does not have any problematic data on me. I do not link anything to FB, in spite of their perennial entreaties to do so. No doubt there has been some incursion to my accounts regarding spammers and scammers, but nothing too critical. I screen EVERYTHING and block all unknowns so can I be hurt virtually? Probably, but I am not as promising a target as they would like me to be.

Rather than trying to match fabric to skin, I would have dyed the wannabe skin-tone fabric to match one of the accent colors in the Louis Vuitton look. I also wonder why not more boots? I wear boots (tall, short skinny etc.) 99% of my time in the outside (admittedly due to quarantine, 99% of my time has been spent inside wearing geta or zori) world. I do not know why, but the McQueen look on Kosar Ali made me smile. I think it was because the look had a certain "Bridgerton" flair to its silhouette...and I believe Kosar Ali was wearing boots!

While I have absolutely no expertise in middle east politics, it just seems as if we exist in a horrific time loop. With passing from dictatorships to terrorists to presence of police/army not native to the area, with said army departing, resulting in the vacuum in leadership being filled with religious extremism which then leads to a dictatorship and on and on. Solution? Who knows, but I would certainly build up the middle class economically, educationally and the infrastructure before leaving the area.

I know that there are exceptions but, I feel that should I join I would probably be one of its "casualties".   So the tweet that launched a million trolls was not liking a Disney movie (per the always correct internet 😉, Disney's 2019 net worth was 193.98 billion USD) turned a human into a trampoline to be jumped upon by those who do not even know what a trampoline is or that Disney's view would involve words like, "don't care".

A model's primary job is to favorably showcase clothing, accessories and makeup. The only risks should involve wearing revealing attire and/or walking in freakishly high stilettos. I am so bad. I laughed when I read the thumbnail. In retrospect, this is probably not funny. Where were all these people in 2016 when Matt Gaetz ran and was elected with 69% of the votes (per Wikipedia). It may be satisfying to see him fall, fail and hopefully forfeit his political office, but he is only the symptom of an "infection" for which there is no quick cure.

Well that got scary, real fast.  That insecurity mixed with narcissism is also my hypothesis for mass shooters and probably half of the people who prefer to live in boxes beneath bridges. Everyone should not only have a primary care physician, but also have a primary care therapist. However with the problems in gaining affordable health care (at least in the U.S.) that is not going to happen any time soon.  The ultimate irony and tragedy is that those who need therapy the most cannot afford it nor will elect legislators who would have passed bills to fund it.

I do not think Maxine Waters' statement prejudiced the jury, but one has to wonder about her mindset along with timing. I am guessing that she made the statement Saturday evening. However I believe the jurors were not sequestered until Monday afternoon (04/19/2021). I know that police departments and police education need major changes, but couldn't she have made her statement once jurors were sequestered? As for the context of her statement, it isn't exactly MLK in content, but I have only read portions of her speech. I wish we did not have to read every news report using 5 or 6 different sources to be sure what we read is accurate. Overall I liked this series.I keep thinking with every new Marvel series, how will this succeed and yet it does. I assumed (swear that I did not cheat) that Sharon Carter was The Power Broker very early on. While I liked Emily VanCamp's portrayal of Sharon Carter, the character itself seemed more like a plot device than a person. The Sharon Carter who the helped Steve and Sharon Carter, The Power Broker seems a huge jump, at least only knowing her from past movies and this series. Kevin Feige seems to be "the visionary" (hmm good super name) in the  Marvel-verse so who knows what is to come.

I did like  Demon Slayer: KImetsu no Yaiba (Netflix). I cannot imagine anyone seeing the movie without constantly looking  up data on a wiki. This anime combines Japanese folk tales, magical creatures, individualized (think wands in HP) swords, heroes and a really good sense of fashion. I think of anime as visual sushi. Like every other horrific crime, there is even more horror to the Ahmaud Arbery murder. These men were yelling and chasing a person through multiple neighborhoods. No one noticed and called 911? This law enforcement agency, unfortunately also the one that tried to hide information from the public. In a tragedy like this, it is human to want to know why. There are so many reasons for the failure to prevent Elisa Lam's death or even find her body. I found this pod fascinating. I never realized how central the concept and actuality of laundry is to my existence. So much to discuss regarding the why, when, how and put the jeans...where? Unless I become rich enough to buy my jeans their own freezer, these items will never see the inside of those walls. However, I will share a minor hack regarding jeans. I love dark wash and black jeans. In order to slow down the fading process, turn jeans inside out when washing (or even all the deities forbid, DRYING). I also safety pin the zipper in a  closed position as when unfettered my jeans have attached my tops. When it comes to washing machine agitation, it is always: Jeans 1 Tops 0.

I think that a better statement concerning U.S. and/or Global healthcare would be the following:  for-profit hospitals and medical centers (at least in the U.S.) bankrupt more people than do stock market losses. Medicine itself is an art, a constantly evolving entity. Some facilities have excellent care, some have less than excellent care. As such, Mr. Peterson's original premise is inaccurate and over-generalized (was he talking about the U.S. or Global, private or public or government run?). I do respect Jordan Peterson. He can make excellent points and equivalencies, but not so much in the clip shown. If in the rest of the interview he repeatedly emphasized that he was stating an opinion not recounting a fact, then he is entitled to express that opinion. One can only hope that his audience will recognize the difference between fact and opinion.

Yes our health care system is broken. Giant insurance carriers negotiate lower rates due to all the business they bring to a "preferred provider".  The irrational result is that the poorer you are, the more you pay for medical exams, tests and treatments. Our pyramid is built upside down so stability is not an option. Unless of course, you have your own BFG. I have to joke, or I will cry.

I really really hate it when Republican legislators start talking about history. Whether Democrat presidents were right, wrong or just confused, let us accept the past and move ahead. The report would have to be written/typed in the halls of the Senate and the House by each member. No assistants allowed. No wifi. No cheating. Maybe use Barack Obama as the proctor. Everyone would have the same (but limited as no wifi) tablet with spell check, maybe also with a dictionary and thesaurus app included. The subject would be: why they decided to be in public service, what they have already accomplished and what they hope to accomplish. And then when USPS gets their equipment and staff back mail hard copy to all of us because we would really like to know who these people really are.

The short answer to Katie Couric's question concerning the ease that rioters entered The White House...Trump.  He ignored the potential of a pandemic and dismissed (in 2018) the entire response team. The answer to why did the Capitol Police seem so unprepared along with the lack of National Guard presence until it was almost too late seems so obvious that it hurts when I hear certain legislators deny the obvious. My answer is hubris, cluelessness and just plain stupidity from the one person who should taken steps to help those police protect the capitol, its legislators and our democracy. That one person was watching the insurrection on video, enjoying the chaos. He is ill and the horrible result of a horrible parent. Unfortunately many current Republicans do not have that explanation for their past and current lack of assistance to their constituents and the rest of us.

RE: Republicans SLEPT During Trump Impeachment Trial

Why doesn't the video also include the seating area (aka jurors)? Live video would take the "fake news" trope out of the equation when, for example, Kentucky citizens learn that their Senator (Rand Paul) doodled through relevant testimony. No matter the outcome, the absolute necessity of this trial is putting the reality of the Trump presidency leading to January 6 riot into all media. No network or streaming service that values the number of viewers it can report to advertisers can ignore this news. Sadly, it does come down to money as a motivating factor. The hoped for result, informing the people of the U.S. and abroad what happened here.

It is most likely true, Trump is mentally ill. My money is on narcissistic personality disorder with the additional damage of both parental neglect and emotional abuse. RE: Autism traits in girls and women

While I have never been diagnosed as being on the spectrum, the noise aspect resonated (no pun intended) with me. Unexpected/sudden noise actually hurts as if something impacted with my body. This noise sensitivity reaction is not helped by the fact that I am legally bind in one eye. Socially, I have to concentrate in order to maintain eye contact when I am speaking. Although this may sound odd, maintaining eye contact wears me out as if I were holding something very heavy. As I result I alienate people who think of me as disinterested or bored. Thank you for clearly outlining the issues that have haunted me for years, believing I was "the only one". Information, easily accessed, is truly is the answer for all of us.

Should these insurrectionists actually show up, my dream team of "negotiators" would be Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Mitch McConnell, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Lauren Boebert (without weapons as we all know negotiators are not armed) and just for the ** of it let's throw in this guy; Tim Boyd, the former mayor of Colorado City, Texas. The dialogue would be fascinating.

I wonder, it is probably in the medical literature, but it seems unusual to me for a disease to be one way today, maybe better tomorrow and then back again. Remissions can occur in patients with cancer, but those usually occur after drug and/or surgical treatment(s). I am also assuming that these people who bounce back and forth regarding their cognitive impairment, are not in a drug trial. So how/why is the brain operating differently on those "good" days versus the "bad" days?

The image I saw of the Cruz family's little white poodle looking forlornly out a pane of glass of the family home's front door is a great metaphor for Senator Cruz and his actual relationship with the State of Texas. The punchline to this wild reality of ours was dog's name..."Snowflake".  Perhaps it is my quarantined-altered brain, but shouldn't this story have been an SNL sketch not reality? Sadly none of this had to happen if the fiercely independent, but clueless legislators had learned from the 2011 storm disaster.

While the financial oligarchy in which we appear to exist in does make me uncomfortable, withholding money from Trump Republicans may be the only road exiting TrumpTown to SanityCity. Ironic, I just realized that sanity rhymes with Hannity. Maybe we do live in a malfunctioning Matrix?  😉

Are we sure Mr. Lindell is responsible for building a (until recently) successful company? 

I have an average IQ, got average grades in high school and even more average grades in college. Very often my mediocre grade got raised to a B or even an A due to professors grading "on a curve" or me being one of the few students who noticed the extra credit question at the end of a test. However even those sad students whose incomplete tests resulted in raising my grades, were not as stupid, clueless and vapid as the current clown parade that run in circles in the Senate at Washington DC and/or  hang out at Mar-a-Lago playing golf and visiting spas. Sorry for the rant. Sometimes I want to scream, but I cannot as it scares my two cats.

I agree with Jo. I would forget the tropes, problematic comments and clichés...visit with scented candles, imported soaps and aloe hand creams while just moving on to another topic.  Maybe like Bridgerton, would I wear that, is that person attractive and most importantly will there be a season 2? I am not being flippant, having been (luckily) temporarily in that situation you need distraction not consolation.

Religion can be so comforting, providing ethical context to our interactions and yet be the reason a war starts or people die. Being on different paths does not mean we have to isolate only within our group. I respect all religions that respect all other religions. Tribalism does not suit us, it just divides us. BTW that cat is such a cat. I have 2 who also only cuddle according to their rules regarding when, where and for how long.

Should be a no brainer to have an expert in along with a person who has a specific condition, on set. Studios should start always using a varied/random group of individuals for background scenes. Just watch many mid-twentieth century movies and count people of color in the crowd, usually 1 or 2 right? Now take most films and try to spot people (extras) with canes, crutches, wheelchairs, guide dogs and prosthetics. The result here would be probably more towards zero. We humans are primitives, anything different or unfamiliar makes us fearful (and if one knows Yoda one knows where that leads). So get those secondary players to be more varied and maybe those primary roles will follow. Anything in video or print regarding this issue is headed in the proper (I would have said right, but too political 😉) so thank you Footless Jo.
