Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: conclusion to law suit Terry Sanderson vs Gwyneth Paltrow)03/30/2023

Terry Sanderson chose to ski when previously he had been diagnosed with a blind right eye. Unless he had some cybernetic implants that I have not heard of, his depth perception was affected. Such a disability would impact his judgement and ability to ski without strict observation from companions. Ironically the sole observer (or at least Mr. Ramone testified as such) is color blind and was many feet away from TS when the collision occurred. I watched most of the trial. By its last day or so, I almost began feeling sorry for this type A, formerly active man who hates aging with such a passion. There are more practical ways to fight or slow aging (ironically one of GOOP's themes), other than making  a celebrity the arch-nemesis in your story. I too, wish him well. My hope is that he moves on to never institute a law suit against anyone to ease his own disappointment and despair with the process of aging.

Posted to Observe (RE: Buster Murdaugh testimony at Alex Murdaugh trial) Uploaded 04/01/2023

This analysis quite fairly brings up the fact that not all people process tragedy in the same manner. Perhaps the stoicism/calm demeanor of Buster Murdaugh was due to (just an idea, no facts available to support this) mild mood altering meds due to this tragedy. I  can acknowledge all that, yet I am still suspicious of Buster Murdaugh's testimony. As this examination was done by the defense attorney (Jim Griffin) I am guessing that there was some (to be expected in any trial) coaching by the defense. Interesting facts: This testimony was made on 02/21/2023. On 03/02/2023, Alex Murdaugh was found guilty on two counts of murder. On 03/17/2023, the exhumation of Stephen Smith (rumors of Buster's involvement) official announcement was made. At this point, any video interview of Buster Murdaugh would be extremely interesting to analyze.

Posted to Katie Couric (RE: Interview with Mary Trump by Katie Couric) Uploaded 04/01/2023

Thank you Katie Couric for interviewing Mary Trump. When Mary Trump said "his FOLLOWERS (these are not voters) will follow him to the end of the earth..." it was so chilling. How do we deprogram such a large portion of our population? I would posit that it has to start with the Republican party itself. They would have to shake off any influence from this individual. Speaking from personal experience, trying to reach a long-time Trump follower seems pointless. I find that the only way to maintain a relationship with certain family members is to avoid any discussion of politics, elections and above all never mention the name of the man who was elected president in 2016 and indicted in 2023.

Posted to Karolina Żebrowska (RE: Body Parts In Fashion) Uploaded to You Tube 04/01/2023

Makeup is my plastic surgery. I had my parents talked into me getting a rhinoplasty when I was 16 or 17, then I got a mini panic attack and did not go through with the surgery. By my mid-twenties and early thirties my face had changed with age. That cute little nose I had wanted at sixteen, would have looked ridiculous on me by time I reached 30. Plastic surgery has value and should not be dismissed as a helpful procedure. However it needs thought and consideration (and of course a large amount of disposable income) before being utilized.

Posted to Smoky Glow (RE: Dance Moms) Uploaded to You Tube 03/26/2023

I knew that this series existed, but never watched it. This sounds like a nightmare for all concerned, except for the dance instructor, Abby Lee Miller of whom I did hear negative points. The ASPCA is always onsite when animals are used, for safety and humane treatment. Seems like the child dancers on this show could have used a similar independent organization. I appreciate this video, as perhaps it might give a parent pause before the next reality or You Tube show becomes the family's prime income.

Posted to Hollywood Attorney (RE: S vs. P) Uploaded to You Tube 04/01/2023

Replay crew here, I enjoyed this commentary. I am so happy that Runkle referred his subscribers to this channel. I almost began to feel sorry for TS as the experts testified and evidence mounted. The attorneys for plaintiff and defense were an interesting group regarding their skill set. James seemed the most in touch with this case. However when Owens did TS's travelogue taken from TS's own social media, it was devastating. For future videos I would love to hear about the Victoria Alonso firing ( I believe Ike Perlmutter was also fired). This channel that I subscribe to has a good overview: https://youtu.be/8qDFwFv5RnI

As for that infamous former reality show host (also former president), now under an indictment; well his name is polarizing, problematic and magnetic towards attracting trolls.

Posted to Footless Jo (RE: Dating as an amputee) Uploaded to You Tube 04/03/2023

Maybe this would be the wrong thing to do (my disability is not a visible one), but being active (running, hiking, martial arts) I would place myself in that environment wearing shorts with my two pupper friends for a full screenshot. For my bio, I would not even mention disability, except maybe a very brief statement such as "my leg was amputated ___years ago, due to an accident" I feel many relationships start with he, she, they "look" friendly, "look" happy, "look" confident with the commonality obvious. Yes there are weirdoes out there, something that we all have to consider for the first few meetings.

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: TN school mass shooting) Uploaded to You Tube March 29, 2023

Yes the perpetrator is at fault. The parents obviously clueless. They were no doubt too worn out or somehow distracted when they let their adult child walk out of their home with an unexamined duffle bag. Gun laws should prohibit sale of weapons to individuals with a history of mental impairment without considerable documentation of medical professionals. The school could have had minimal security such as a Ring Video Doorbell with a "buzz in system" set up at an affordable cost (maybe even result in lower liability insurance for school). Along with the perpetrator; the accessory or even worse the accomplice, was the lack of effective mental health diagnosis, treatment and professional care givers/living environment. Gun laws and security are steps 2 and 3, step 1 is obvious after analysis of recent mass murderers.

Posted to Breakfast All Day (RE: Was it Great or were you 8) Uploaded to You Tube 04/012023

I was an odd child, and am currently an even odder adult. As an 8 year instead of watching Saturday AM cartoons, I watched old early twentieth century black and white movies such as:

Rebecca (1940), Casablanca (1942), Jane Eyre (1943), Gaslight (1944) and The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). While there was a little overacting by Joan Fontaine in Rebecca (the actor was 22 while playing an extremely sheltered 21 year old so I cut Joan a break) and by Gort in The Day the Earth Stood Still (facial expression was somewhat wonky in appearance, but it was 1951 😉). As a "wannabe" adult, I continue to count these movies among my favorites.

BTW yes, the (OG) Pink Panther movies still make me laugh.

Posted to The Dodo (RE: Guy thinks he can train kitten, Bleu) Uploaded to You Tube 04/03/2023

Posted to Footless Jo (RE: Candace Owens on Models with Handicapps) Uploaded 03/25/2023

I agree with Jo, Ms. Owens' rant is acting for clicks, publicity, notoriety (aka fame and money). Her producer probably saw ad, said hey, good rant material. Full disclosure, I know little of Candice Owens other than she is known for her ultra-conservative views and is seemingly (by this video clip) quite fond of being a provocateur. My unproven theory (DO NOT do this at home), if you wake these people up at 3AM then ask, for example, what do you think of handicapped models?  am willing to bet that the comment what be a far less click-bait response of,  "sure, it's fine, g'nite".

While Disney has been nicknamed "the evil empire", I still can not help but giggle at their recent addition of the declaration of linking their autonomy regarding Florida, U.S. to the existence of living descendants of the current monarch in residence at Buckingham Palace, Charles III. Finally a valid reason for royalty in the 21st century. Apologies to UK, I am an ignorant American.😟

Posted to John Campea (RE: Low Theater Numbers for Shazam 2)Uploaded to You Tube 04/02/2023

Have not seen Shazam 2 yet, solely due to personal time constraints. While I know this movie should be seen on a theater screen, at this point I will probably see it when it streams. Unfortunately the pandemic did more than close a lot of theaters (obviously the death and long COVID toll is horrendous, but not the subject here), it gave people the new habit of sitting at home in sweats, not needing baby sitters, not worrying about randos at the theater who already think that they are in their living room and most importantly (at least for me) being able to pause the film when trips away from the screen are necessary. There is probably a fast food/grub-hub analogy here, but that would make this comment even more verbose than it already is. 😉

Posted to The Try Guys (RE: 3 Weeks before Zach and Maggie's Wedding) Uploaded 04/05/2023

The journey of Zach and Maggie to their wedding day was a combo of the tales of Odysseus, Job and the 2016 (U.S.) election. Seriously though edit out the fun parts (interesting computer name, the Alien abduction lights, et al) and send this to Congress. Medical coverage is ridiculously expensive, usually tied to your employer and as for that $10,000 pill, just wow. I wonder how much hospital staff, facilities and meds cost instead of letting Zach return home with his wife, who is a NURSE! Anyway happy marriage and a happy ending.🖖

Posted to Lawyer You Know (RE: Commentary on Murdaugh prosecutors press conf) 04/05/2023

I do not understand some of these copyright strikes. Movie trailers are often copyright struck. Movie trailers whose primary mission is to garner buzz, interest and get people to swarm to their local theater. It is FREE advertising when a You Tube influencer gives commentary on the trailer. As long as the Lawyer You Know (or anyone) gives credit to ABC, Court TV or any traditional news source, they are also getting FREE advertising and perhaps getting more views to their channels. So clueless and frustrating. BTW I did not listen to the press conference with the Prosecutors in the Murdaugh case, but comparing themselves to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Dwight D Eisenhower and World War II is beyond hubris. These attorneys did their job, actually could have done it better even considering the conclusion of this trial. Hey what about SLED, you know the ones who passed off Stephen Smith's death and are now in charge of that re-investigation? To which icons do we compare that group to, Inspector Clouseau perhaps? Sorry for the rant, I have been cranky since November 8 2016.

Posted to Breakfast All Day (RE: Movie News of the Day) Uploaded to You Tube 04/05/2023

I read A. O. Scott's goodbye article for The New YorkTimes to being a movie critic which is probably now behind pay wall as AI informed me this was my one free article. So no link will be pasted here. While modern fandom is a bit feverish and irrational at times, I think that Scott has a longing for going back to his pre 21st century days of just going to a theater, to be amazed, amused and astounded without having to produce a commercially viable product (aka "The Review"). Like everything else, I will blame this on COVID and the resulting quarantine, pandemic (now endemic) which has worn many of us down to wanting, a change to something smaller, simpler and saner.

Posted to The Hollywood Attorney (RE: S vs. P Verdict) Uploaded to You Tube 04/05/2023

I keep finding myself saying, that I am not a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow and find Goop hilarious before I say that I agree with the verdict. The comment by TS during an impromptu interview after the verdict saying that, "people tend to believe celebrities" was another reminder that TS cannot read the room and is quite attached to his "story". I hope that this "story" has found its conclusion. I am sure (once attorneys have been paid) that there are numerous other countries to visit, places to scuba dive and of course zip-lines to be tried.😉

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Trump Indictments) Uploaded to You Tube 04/05/2023

The indictments come from the State of New York. So I am not sure who would ever go to this individual, expecting definitive help. Rudy Giuliani? Mike Pence? former New York State governor, Mario Cuomo (is a Democrat though)? Someone from Wall Street or maybe a major lender regarding Trump's company?  Probably this reading is spot-on. There is no supervillain, no conspiracy, just several very very clueless, mindless and hapless individuals who trusted a very untrustworthy individual.

While I do learn from the analysis that is presented on this channel, detailed observations like "the Wallace and Gromit EEK face" makes learning body language fun and memorable (I LOVE Wallace and Gromit). However I feel the award, at least for this episode, regarding relevant education and advice, should go to Mark Bowden. His statement, "stay out of court if at all possible...if you end up there, do NOT fiddle with the microphone" are literally words to live one's life by.

Posted to Runkle of The Bailey (RE: Goat Taken from little girl by Shasta Fair) 04/06/2023

I had not heard about this case. I would be interested in any followup. Why the fair sought to make such an aggressive (and seemingly not quite legal) move against a little girl and a goat owned by said girl is mystifying. Seems like the fair could also be liable for cruelty to animals by herding animals together in an unsafe and inhumane manner for slaughter.  Maybe the plaintiff's side could even call Dr. Temple Grandin as an expert witness.  Just a gut feeling, but this organization reminds me of a certain skier in a recent civil law suit. This particular skier (and world traveler) felt that they are smart, never wrong, never at fault, did not play well with others and never heard of the Streisand effect.

Posted to You Can Sit With Us (RE: Becky giving makeup data) Uploaded to You Tube 04/05/2023

Becky, there needs to be more of these videos!!  Even at my advanced age, I am such a novice.  I feel guilty, being somewhat unmotivated to travel to brick & mortar stores or even spend hours surveilling cosmetic/skin care sites. I usually buy from Amazon. Oddly (or maybe not?) I have found ELF skin care products (serums) as effective as their pricier, more buzz'd about luxury-branded companions. I have been leaning towards Korean eye shadow and face makeup products, but Becky is very correct "caveat emptor". That means knowing the mfr, shipper, ingredients, reading reviews (with a critical eye),  knowing return policies and comparing costs. Amazon is the wild west especially when it comes to pricing. A good deal today (probably hesitate before pressing their nifty "order again" button) may not be a good deal tomorrow.

Posted to Gold Shaw Fram (RE: New Barn) Uploaded to You Tube 04/08/2/23

I think about Tetris and Minecraft looking at that barn's frame going up, so I guess I am exposing my lack of museum visitation in recent years. Having the Zakim Bridge, basically (not actually of course, that neighborhood is PRICEY) in my back yard, I feel that Morgan's analogy is accurate.

Posted to Bernadette Banner (RE: Making + Using Victorian skincare treatments) Uploaded 04/08/2023

While I fear Bernadette may have gotten herself on an Amazon watch list, I do appreciate her devotion to our benefit and entertainment in attempting to make and use these mixtures. However why no mask used during the prep? As for the glasses, I am reminded of the less than stable Dr. Strangelove played by Peter Sellers in the 1964 Stanley Kubrick movie (which I was surprised to see rated PG at least per IMDb).

Posted to Molly Burke (RE: Masking) Uploaded to You Tube on 04/08/2023

I have heard the term "masking" I obviously did not fully understand the term's full significance. As in,  I never had felt that it was negative. My disability (depth perception) is not easily visible unless you observe me carefully when I am going up and down stairs or over curbstones. I use masking, to show (via eye contact, walking and the way I carry myself) more confidence and more purpose that I actual am feeling inside. I would never advise anyone with a disability or a difference to hide, as there are good people out there who could be available for assistance, IF needed.

Using embroidery thread instead of grommets never occurred to me, but makes so much sense. Love the reveal. Excellent idea to make separates. Plus for some of us (ok me) who has a very non standard body type covering two standard sizes, it "makes it work". QUESTION: What about making that leaf (assume it is not plastic) into a kind of 17th-18th century colonial pocket, (I think they either loop onto a belt or tie on) ? Observation: I too have a cat, with whom I have lived with for over a decade, who still fixes me with a look of disdain should I dare to pick him up at my whim, not his.

I had assumed the lack of video regarding the "bad" days/hours was a deliberate choice. I never doubted that Jason's condition was degenerative. However I had hoped it had slowed and not progressed to already being at stage 5. QUESTIONS (I do not expect answers if too painful or invasive): (1) Is Jason's dementia increasing in speed along this 7 stage process, as in spending less time in less affected stages as this illness advances?  (2) Can Jason stay at stage 5 for weeks, months or even years? (3)Does this process ever bouncing to some days Jason being able to operate at stage 3 or 4 and other days/weeks being more as operating at stage 6. After personally processing the results of the biopsy, please update us with as much data as you feel able to share.

Glad to hear that the weight gain is holding. I also have sinus issues and when bad I also find it is hard to concentrate on my monitor. Two things help me, the first is traditional and the second may sound weird. These are: (1) eye glasses with tinted lenses (can find on Amazon) to ease eye strain (2) facial massage you can do yourself using gua sha (literally tons of varieties and prices on Amazon). I think most people use gua sha tools for softening wrinkles, which maybe they do. For me it has kept my sinuses draining (yup fun times) and greatly decrease my headaches.

I do not lightly institute the operation of my horn (well except when parked and I accidentally lean on the horn...in that case apologies to all). I use the horn only if I feel in danger. On an interstate highway, I had to stop suddenly at a green light as I was behind someone who felt using  the left turn lane was inconvenient and stopped in the middle (no turns allowed) lane to take a left. Due to rush hour traffic, I could not safely change lanes. I braked and kept my hand on the horn until the person plus vehicle finally moved. I considered it a win as there were no accidents and even better my latte, myself and my vehicle made it home intact.

Wait, regarding the man who stole the school bus to carry the dead deer. Did he only drive a MINI Cooper or maybe a small bicycle? How did the deer die? Are they just lying around Carrollton Township, PA like dead pigeons and squirrels?

The humungous mistake made under the Bob Chapek administration regarding Scarlett Johansson was egregious, lazy and regarding the resulting Disney PR that followed, was beyond clueless. However this action regarding Victoria Alonso was under (I assume) Bob Iger's watch so I wonder what is up? My gut senses somewhere high up (I doubt that it is Feige), there is a (or are) bruised ego(s) regarding interactions with Victoria Alonso. This action by Disney corporate/Marvel seems, at least for playing the long game, odd after Disney's recent masterclass on their interactions with the (U.S.) State of Florida...I LOVE that perpetuity clause!

Which individual would seem to be the more law-abiding, more moral, more stable of the two in early January 2021? Out of all the Quick Bit topics, I would like more data on is the RUST tragedy. It just seems like the live ammo on the set of that movie and what would have been the life and legacy of Halyna Hutchins is becoming lost in all of this legal maneuvering.

I enjoy this type of show and I always appreciate a long form format. Maybe going a little longer with a random entertainment item that particularly got the attention of Dan Murrell which he wishes to expound upon, so go a bit longer? I agree with Dan on remakes. I know that it is show BUSINESS, but filing up an aisle (notice how cookies and crackers fill up sale space by simply adding new flavors but not substantially improving the products) at a grocery store makes predictable profits for the food business. Note to studio accountants and stockholders: this methodology does not 100% transfer to guaranteed profits in movies.

While I do have a few skinny jeans in my closet, most of my "modern" jeans have been broken in by kind strangers who then donated said item. I buy average length (even though I am SO SO short) jeans which somehow magically do not drag on the floor yet provide extra room even in skinny jean format.

Darrell Brooks is 40, that along with a string of crimes going from bad to the horrific parade murders, makes me doubtful that rehabilitation is possible. Some criminals seem to find "forgiveness" from a higher power and declare themselves as changed. Due to his crimes, i doubt the future of Mr. Brooks includes an actual rehabilitation. I assume "rehabilitation" allotments are something required by law. In that case, I understand there has to be money allotted. The idea of a book or movie deal nauseates me, but after seeing the multiple places that one can view or read about Murdoch, Girardi along with some infamous serial murderers, we must allow for the possibility of Brooks being paid from future entities. The lawyer for Brooks made some valid points. While respectful, he is not addressing how our  culture monetizes trauma, horrific crimes and its perpetrators, but that is not his job.

Yes, the parents and sister lived in Ukraine, so distant in miles is correct. However I had not heard of any emotional estrangement situation. I do not have the link, but I had read that Halyna Hutchins regularly sent money home. I would guess there are also phone calls, social media contact and emails. Cluelessness, carelessness and hubris are difficult to prosecute criminally, but in a civil suit against Alec Baldwin with any luck it might just go forward. I am still amazed that the film is scheduled to be completed. I know that was part of the settlement to the widower, but it just feels so wrong. The unfinished film should have been packed up and stored for Halyna Hutchins' son to someday view, should he so desire to do so.

The You Tube financial end is an easy solution. Before someone under the age of 18 gets their channel, the parent must set up a custodial account with limited access. The child's portion should be direct-deposited into said custodial account by You Tube, with a (probably a 10 - 30%) amount going to the parents'/legal guardians' account. No withdrawal permitted by parent while child is under 18. At 18 money could be withdrawn by child as long as parent/guardian cosigns.  When the age of 21 is reached child may withdraw money without the need for parental/guardian permission.

As for the behavior alleged in that civil complaint, that is a nightmare beyond my comprehension. The possibility of the destruction of children's lives, relationships, futures is staggering. Perhaps during discovery, facts will emerge. Although this entire case could be kept out of the public media should the court so decide.

While kids and airplanes are often not compatible, how about getting the 5 year old to help him with the popcorn pickup (game, praise, bribe, whatever works) and then his pregnant 22-week wife can show the 2 year old a game on whatever tech device they had in their carry-on while this massive cleanup ensued. I am not mad at anything, except for the lack of imagination and logical thinking skills of certain adults.

Always find The TryPods entertaining, but somehow taking the pod on the road (yes literally) makes the discussions more random, even more funny. It may only be first world humor, but discussing outrageous combos of overpriced caffeinated drinks and food "accessories" makes me laugh into tears. BTW my roommate working from home 3 rooms away just yelled at me regarding the volume of my laughter, so Miles you are not the only problematic speaker.

The pessimist in me feels the armorer will be the only one to take the brunt of the punishment. Everyone else will go back to their lives as before, well except for Halyna Hutchins and her son. This case was mishandled from the beginning. That incompetence probably assisted AB more than his own attorneys. As an actor, sure not-guilty, but in his role as a producer who was an on set witness to the disorganization and chaos, he and the production company should be still held liable for punishment. Matthew Hutchins' statement is beyond weird to me. My guess is that he wants all this publicity to go away for the sake of his son. However, when this child grows up and wonders why everyone involved got away unscathed (we do not yet know about armorer) with the death of his mother and no laws were instituted to prevent this from occurring again. What will this child, now adult, have to say then?

Mental health issues contribute drastically to gun violence. Without naming those 4 shooters or even hearing them being interviewed, I would be willing to bet that all 4 have mental illnesses/conditions that should prevent any of them from possessing weapons. Very possibly 2 to even all 4 may have legally purchased their weapon. The last shooter mentioned seems like he should reside in a cell, a padded one.

Posted to Runkle of The Bailey (RE: All charges dropped against Alec Baldwin) Uploaded 04/202023

I envy, but trust Runkle's steady state of mind and legal knowledge. I am just so angry. Bottom line live ammo made it onto a set that was "regulated" by people who did not know how to or have the time to properly store all weapons and ammo. Apparently no one on this set could recognize live ammo. A young talented wife and mother died for no reason except for a production company that was so miserly with its budget that it hired a young woman of barely any armorer experience as a part-time armorer (she also worked for props dept.) who was hired to keep everyone safe. With the AD's plea deal, prosecutorial errors leading to AB's freedom, my guess is while Hannah Gutierrez Reed is guilty, she is only one among many who are guilty, but is probably all alone when it comes to punishment for the death of Halyna Hutchins. Sorry for the rant.

I wear "New Goth" most often, but I aspire to "Tech-Based Fashion". Watching Iris van Herpen's shows (on You Tube) is almost like dreaming while awake. McQueen fashion is what I try to emulate when shopping at thrift/recycle stores. [posted to pinned comment]

Love these trend videos. Justine's commentaries make all those fashion shows and trends easy to absorb and even possible to duplicate at (hopefully) affordable prices in our local areas. Hope the home in Provence is drying out and the repairs are commencing. [posted to general comments]

I would love a longer video (or a travel series) on packing clothing, accessories and cosmetics/skin care. I always overpack on everything, even though I try to use travel bags/cubes within my suitcase. I do have one hack. I make my sleepwear also wearable as day wear. My bottoms for sleeping are loose/yoga pants in a straight leg format always in the color black. The sleep tops are fitted tee shirts that are not sheer and in shape for the "real world" as opposed to the "sleep world". Looking forward to the Japan and Korea vlogs!

Posted to John Campea (RE: All charges against Alec Baldwin dropped) Uploaded 04/21/2023

Kris Carr is correct. This has been a circus, a very tragic one as a gifted cinematographer, a wife and mother named Halyna Hutchins died due to a preventable accident. The prosecutor's office was beyond incompetent throughout this whole process. Alec Baldwin the actor should not have been indicted, however Alec Baldwin the producer was responsible. The production company hired an inexperienced armorer (Hannah Gutierrez-Reed ) and then compounded their mistake by making her part-time (the other half of her job was in props). The AD has been given a plea deal (Dave Halls, the AD was the one who announced "cold gun"). So looks like Hannah is the only one facing prison time. Yes, she is guilty of incompetence, but what about the production company who ignored previous problems on set (the death of Hutchins was the THIRD accident involving weapon fire)? The RUST production is going to resume soon in Montana. It was part of the widower's settlement. Not the conclusion to this event that I was expecting.

I admire Rachel's stamina and ability to decipher that knitting pamphlet. After 2 or 3 fails, I would have sprayed the machine with WD40 then probably hit it with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Spray Gloss and left it to remain as objet d'art in my office. This lack of insight is why I am not on You Tube. The knit top was adorable and good button choice. Next project, dog cape? Do not make one for the cat unless you have extremely good medical insurance.

I have heard of (and used) this method in my kitchen and bathroom storage areas. Yet in one year these places have begun to return to their former incarnation. I like to tell people that my junk drawers and closets are adhering to the (probably) non-Swedish method of resurrection clutter. Decluttering is a process not an ending? Well, at least that is what I tell myself.

Posted to Hollywood Attorney (RE: Julia Holcomb Misley vs Stephen Tyler) Uploaded 04/22/2023

The mindset astounds me that an adult male with the ability to connect with anyone, chose instead a child. Julia Holcomb Misley's situation at home sounds very familiar. The basic story of a chaotic, unprotected home life echo's the victims' stories caught up in the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell ST ring. If this does go to trial and is televised, it will be painful to watch. However, for better or worse this trial's viewership would probably exceed "the numbers" of the Depp vs. Heard trial.

FyreFest (Billy McFarland), Theranos (Elizabeth Holmes), FTX (Sam Bankman-Fried), CryptoZoo (Logan Paul) and Madoff Investment Securities (Bernie Madoff, died in 2021) were/are basically charismatic con artists who promised the improbable and delivered only pain, disappointment or worse. While we need to punish these people, we also need to ask ourselves why believe without proof? Otherwise nothing will change irregardless as to prison sentences.

I pride myself as not taken in by filters on Instagram or TikTok. However, I cannot claim the same skillset regarding the expertise of the photographers of that early age. I also did not make the connection that the most unwearable/or worn short term dresses of that era were the ones to survive intact and become our basic image of Victorian silhouettes. It all seems so simple when Bernadette Banner explains it! If any video deserves to go viral, it is this video.

Posted to Katie Couric (RE: Interview w/Gabriel Sherman correspondent w/Vanity Fair) 04/19/2023

This interview did give me an understanding on how Fox News mutated into what it is today. The reason is all so horribly simple...money.  I feel so old and so discouraged. I can remember when I used to vote for the most relevant candidate irregardless as to party affiliation. Now I feel voting for any Republican, no matter how smart or adapt, is a vote for an organization that I feel has little contact with reality, progress or science.  I just had a thought, when Murdoch dies and his children cannot agree on Fox News control guess who might decide to buy it.

Hint: this wealthy individual is currently obsessed with a certain social media site and likes the thought of visiting Mars on a vehicle his company will construct.

Early humanity survived by fearing the different, it allowed us to survive, to hopefully evolve intellectually. Assuming these publisher lawsuits win, less people will have free access to even fewer books. I will quote someone who while might not be "real", still has valid advice for all of us:  “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” ...Yoda

Within same convo posted to this individual's (Al Rigby) post:

As a librarian, the Internet Archive and moral panic issues go hand in hand: people want to defund libraries because they're terrified their children will read something that they think is morally wrong. No librarian is handing out porno mags to minors, but the way some parents act, you'd think we're hosting orgies in our basement every Friday, when that time slot belongs to the senior knitting club.

My reply:  Now I want to join that knitting club. Seriously though you are correct, ignorance feeds the panic concerning "the other" (aka anyone who differs from you in any way).

Seeing Morgan walk Randy around to widen the bull's quality of life by exploring also simultaneously becoming accustomed to being led by a human, is wonderful to see. While obviously important (and vital to the health of the human) is remaining dominant in that relationship, there should also be kindness, empathy and knowledge. I think the real danger currently on Gold Shaw Farm is the removal of eggs from a broody goose's nest.😉

Posted to Katie Couric (RE: Multiple Entertainment Execs and News People Fired) 04/24/2023

I too am astonished. There are so many powerful, seemingly intelligent corporate executives who do not grasp the fact that the workplace is well, for work. One should not use the workplace as a dating pool or worse. Of course before we all pat ourselves on the back that humanity is becoming more evolved, these harassment lawsuits are costing businesses and more importantly their insurers major money. I would guess quite a few board of directors are getting notes from their liability carriers saying fire ___ or lose your insurance. Money is power, it is also a sword that cuts both ways.

Posted to Emily D. Baker (RE: Charges Dropped against Alec Baldwin) Uploaded 04/26/2023

I always felt that they indicted the wrong Alec Baldwin. Alec Baldwin the actor is a narcissist, overconfident in his own abilities and is only charming while acting in some of his roles. However this actor's guilt is way down the line of responsibility. The production company tried to run this set on a ridiculous budget irregardless of the experts needed for a set with weapons and ammo. Alec Baldwin the producer and the rest of that group should have been indicted along with the AD and armorer. As of that state's legal department, as Emily said they were more political less analytical in their process. They should be ashamed of their incompetence and voted out of/removed from office.  And yes this whole case makes me angry.

Posted to Katie Couric (RE: Firing of Tucker Carlson) Uploaded to You Tube on 04/26/2023

I wish there was a law that indicated that the noun, News can not be part of your company name or on your PR if you have been found to have issued opinions, but labeled it as news. I guess not legally, but certainly ethically Fox has lost the right to label themselves as Fox News.  A more accurate title for this organization would be Fox "News".

I am not a fan of Fox or Tucker Carlson. However his rant about the "M&M Candy Controversy" was epic, sarcastic and made me laugh. However, whatever his intent his audience took his segments as news, not opinions. I do agree with Dr. Grande and go with Occam's razor on this one. Rupert Murdoch wanted Tucker Carlson gone (with probably a few sighs of relief from Fox's legal department).

My cat would not even relinquish his nap time to be around me for moral support. Pity has its place, while hopefully transitory, it comes with our shelf of emotions.Consider it one spice among many. Its use is required occasionally, but then let it end up getting shifted to the back of the shelf, behind all the daily-used ones. I personally find joy in oregano and basil😉. Mr. Pumpkinhead came out quite adorable. I did not even notice that he was height challenged until "Mom" pointed it out. Why doesn't he live near the sword wielding mouse? The NeverEnding Story (1984) both charmed the young me and gave me nightmares. Can you imagine the existential horror of a young mind trying to comprehend "Nothingness"? Anywho, how about making "Falkor". He would make a great addition to the group. May the weather be pleasant on the trip across the pond and may your visit be full of friends both new and old. The optimism and attitude of these therapists is amazing. The positivity these therapists must show every day to contend with their patients' discomfort, that makes them braver than I had ever imagined.

I agree with Dr. Grande that a short video can never fully explain all the reasons that a marriage that will soon end. Admittedly they (or at least the soon-to-be former Mrs.Crowder) may have realized they were on video, but there was not a lot of emotion in their argument. The topics, body language, general tone seemed to be tired and repetitive with, ironically, no passion (whether wifely or spousal) in it. Hopefully for the sake of their children these two can co-parent without inflicting any serious emotional harm.

I never watched Springer's show. However though ads or snippets on other shows (usually ones bemoaning the current state of human evolution), made knowledge of the content unavoidable. I would guess Springer's on-set persona was different from the actual man. What he did was make money, probably even generational level of wealth, for his family. I agree with Dr. Grande, Mr. Springer was notorious not venomous. Would that many other "talking heads" on cable, streaming services and social media could claim the same for their legacies.
