Finding nuance, subtlety and compromise seems to becoming like spotting endangered species in nature. However, I always feel that this channel presents fair and even-handed opinions. I have become burnt out on trials, with the seemingly endless examples of incompetent and corrupt LE, unethical attorneys and clueless judges. I passed on Ashley Benefield's trial with the day to day coverage. I have only checked summaries.  I am beyond shocked to learn that the 6 year old daughter was put literally on the front lines. Why? What was anyone thinking would be the advantage? Questions that will never be answered to anyone's satisfaction.

I have felt (no cards were needed) from the beginning that the TikTok person will never stop. This is her life and her obsession. QUESTIONS: (1) How can this process be accelerated? (2) Could (proven) diminished capacity of this Tik Tok person assist in ending this loop?  (3) When the Professor's case is finally successful with an injunction granted, would this turn any future comments about this Professor into a criminal offense? (4) If so would breaking an injunction be enough for immediate incarceration and hopefully therapy? BTW SO appreciative that we are not using names, as that probably would be feeding this obsession.

I am not a fan of Piers Morgan, but I did appreciate that Mr. Morgan's interview style was blunt and direct. At this point the ex-girlfriend and Armie Hammer have both come to a reality that each can live with. Probably neither remembers it 100%. With no criminal conviction or active case against Armie Hammer along with the information that ex-wife considers him a friend and co-parent, he can probably re-enter the entertainment industry. He would be smart to start very slowly in very small roles or even consider behind the camera work such as writing or producing. If his fame and success return, maybe this time, he can get it right.

Guessing that Capt. Davey really wants that tax-exempt status in France to air drop one of his most expensive assets. The Karen Bass story is unfortunately typical of politicians. They make speeches and laws regarding entities or situations for which they often have zero comprehension. Judging by the recent French award to Tom Cruise, it appears that French bureaucrats share the same cluelessness and incompetence as their U.S. counterparts.

Oh that was amazing...who won? I adored the rose hat and the horse hat. I find events that allow the adult me to dress up without being considered odd, to be quite enjoyable. Hence my multiple trips to cons featuring anime, comics and Renaissance (no LARPing though) panels and parties. Not sure what is upcoming in the Minnesota area, but going to conventions/events where dress up is acceptable (not mandatory) would be a fun way to make new memories, hang with old friends, make new friends and just for a few hours be someone else as in "the you on vacation" but not altering the essential you.

I had not heard of this case. How any adult(s) with even a modicum of medical knowledge chose to mark this death as the victim un-aliving themself is incompetence. Having the LE and DA accept this explanation is beyond comprehension. I am guessing that as there was no trial, there was no discovery regarding the medical examiner. This is so so sad...and scary.

Was Judge Gall intoxicated that night? Psychological break? She had so much to lose, professionally and financially. Judge Gall should be removed from her judgeship as this incident would diminish any acceptance of and trust in her rulings as a NYS Supreme Court Justice. As for her license to practice law, I would suspend it until she completed a minimum of 4 months of general therapy with additional sessions covering anger management along with treatment for her reported past trauma issues. Her completion should be documented by her therapists (without breaking HIPAA) before regaining her license to practice law.

BTW, why was everyone wandering around in the dark in a wooded/grassy area looking for keys and a money clip? Two words: Metal Detector.

Glad to hear that cameras have been installed. Cameras have so many benefits including, but not limited to such activities as observing nature, arrival of packages and documenting miscreants who are missing all sense of honor, ethics and intelligence. Due to activists like Rita Lombardi, the town of Canton has a future. Shame on the LE for being bullies instead of supporting ALL members of this community.

I do not follow Mykayla Skinner or even watch sports. In these clips, her opinions seemed clearly pointed at the current gymnastics team at the Paris Olympics. Her comments were hurtful, careless, clueless and without merit. Unfortunately the bottom feeders and trolls on the internet love a chance to spread hate and they have even less self-awareness than Mykayla Skinner. If accurate that she has sent personal apologies to each team member, now she should also follow that up with their coaches and the Olympic Committee. She should then leave social media for at least 3 or 4 months. The news/social media cycle will be on to the next scandal by that time.

Should counts 1 and 3 be dropped regarding Karen Read, yes. Should there be a 2nd trial regarding count 2, no. Will the court do the proper actions, highly doubtful. As a taxpayer in Massachusetts this is appalling for so many reasons, not the least of which is tax money being spent to prop up certain individuals/families/organizations and huge financial settlements that will awarded to the plaintiffs.

IMO this lawsuit isn't about hurt feelings somehow it has to be about money, as in major Logan Paul-type money. Perhaps Paul is looking for additional investors for Prime in view of Olympics' trademark suit (among other lawsuits re: Prime), perhaps Paul's liability insurance may require "a show of innocence" in the CryptoZoo class action suit or the deities help us all...Logan Paul is going to release something new which no doubt will be exposed negatively within one year in a You Tube video.

Dr. Emma Hilton is the first scientist who (at least for me) explains this situation clearly, without prejudice and with intelligence. I agree that this is a safety issue not a trans issue, not an ideological issue.  Is it fair for Imane Khelif who has been considered female since birth (but who most likely has DSD), to now be labeled male for athletic events? It is not fair, it is science. As Dr. Hilton has said there are tests. There is no reason beyond IOC stubbornness that this was not been handled privately rather than currently being debated on Twitter and reddit by those without requisite knowledge.

I know that TC elicits strong feelings from either end of the political spectrum. My dislike of this individual is due to him being an opportunist, expert click-baiter and supporter of causes/people if it suits his agenda (fame+wealth) rather than specific political viewpoints. Tucker Carlson's tone and flow of his words when he indicated that Scientology was a cult seemed to indicate that this was common knowledge. His opinion was interesting, but I still find Mr. Carlson unpleasant

I had not considered that about fake service dogs. If dogs are well-behaved and properly trained, there really isn't an issue. Actually I think that a dog vest labeled "service dog" is a good idea. It reminds all of us dog lovers, that this puppy is working so no pets on the head. This question has probably been addressed, but what if on a plane (or any public transit that you cannot easily exit) someone (strongly or repeatedly) complains that they are allergic to dogs. What is the protocol for the dog and their person?

Each TYT panel member is right and wrong primarily because they are not arguing 100% science. They are instead allowing the debate to include politics, emotions and uneducated opinions. No accurate judgement can be made without knowing the (justifiably private) medical information regarding Imane Khelif. In general, when it comes to contact sports such as boxing the primary issue becomes a question of safety, not identity. When it comes to sports such as marathon running, then the primary issue becomes the unfair advantage of denser bones, increased musculature and larger lung capacity rather than identity. The IOC and athletic associations need to agree on a standardized plan of comprehensive, scientifically valid testing. Or we could just leave it to the wild west debaters on Twitter, reddit and media.😉

Haven't read the book. Haven't seen the movie. So my opinion is speculation based solely on this video. I agree with SpillSesh in that this is most likely 2 differing viewpoints regarding the presentation of generational trauma (as in 100%serious vs. 50%serious + 50%comedic). In that case the separate publicity tours probably have been agreed to by all involved parties in order not to alienate any of the potential audience. It is curious that the book's author went on the Blake tour not the Justin tour.

Stockton Rush's endgame, his goal, his passion wasn't to explore the deepest parts of the ocean to benefit science and humanity. His goal was to become a famous travel/entertainment service with trips to the ocean depths for TOURISTS. The final irony is with all the complaints that Stockton Rush had about regulation stunting innovation, his hubris and carelessness will doom this industry to become mired in regulation probably written by bureaucrats who can't even swim never mind understand the science of deep sea submersibles. QUESTIONS: if/when plaintiffs win where is the money coming from, shareholders? the estate of Stockton Rush? Wasn't OceanGate basically uninsured?

At this point we can only speculate regarding what happened on set. I have not read the book or seen the movie. I do know it is about generational harm in marriages.That is a hard topic to sell. Probably why most of the cast is going a different route in PR tours. I have read interviews concerning and with actors in roles where they actively commit some sort of physical or emotional assault on those who are weaker. Certain actors find that draining along with having difficulty exiting the character on set breaks or even at home. I think that Justin should have not have chosen to act AND to direct this movie. Sounds like he may have had trouble transitioning from the character to the director and back again.

As I am sure that the other 12,000+ comments have already pointed out, when "they" (producers, investors, Lionsgate, maybe The Joker---as it is said that he just likes to watch things burn) finally decided to distribute this film (which began in 2021), the film was recut from R to make it PG-13 probably losing some at least passable action scenes. Guess what film Lionsgate may be making...the live action version of Naruto.  If they get that film wrong, Twitter, reddit and most of social media will be apoplectic. Anime fans hold grudges. Simply ask any one who treasures anime their feelings about The Last Airbender (2010).

This family should be compensated for therapy for the child and her mother. Quite often when children are mistreated it makes them act out, bet the judge was not aware of that or much else regarding psychology or obviously the Constitution. "Scared Straight" was an old tactic from the last century, it was not effective. Even so, those "field trips" were signed off on by parents with the children being mostly older teens. I question that this judge was only temporarily removed from criminal cases.  He has no regrets or 2nd thoughts concerning his actions that day in criminal court. This individual should be barred from being a jurist in perpetuity as his future judgment, ethics and state of mind are suspect.

While it sounds like the entire group indicted have guilt in connection with Matthew Perry's death, I would hope that those with medical credentials are given the most severe punishment, including losing licenses. As for JHACH and their attorneys, trying to link any appeal regarding the verdict/award on the Maya Kowalski case to the Perry case, that would be inappropriate, not legally correct and unethical. Sadly the JHACH attorneys are probably up to the task of being inappropriate, not legally correct and unethical.

CORI checks are inexpensive and not limited to LE. Many communities require a CORI check before allowing an individual to be a volunteer at a school or a sports coach. QUESTION: Why isn't a CORI check the norm for anyone serving on a jury? Benefield should get another trial. Murdaugh (unfortunately) should also get another trial. However my opinion (aka fantasy solution) was and continues to be, if Murdaugh is allowed to get a new trial, either Becky Hill pays all trial costs or spends a comparable (to 2nd Murdaugh trial) time in a prison cell.

I think that Professor Gunn (yes she has a PhD) is self-aware in regards to her physical skill set, but totally deluded when it comes to her abilities to compete on a global stage such as the Olympics. She is not making fun of this activity. However the self-delusion comes in with her total shock and surprise that there were so many who felt that her performance was a horrible prank or participation through illegal means. While Indiana Jones was successful in teaching archeology and being an action hero archeologist, not everyone (especially us non-fictional entities) can excel at both.

After the mess of the Karen Read trial, I burnt out and took this trial "off". Judging by the current problems with the prosecutor and perhaps the jury, I did myself a favor. With much of my information coming from this video, I would agree that the verdict should be vacated, a mistrial should be declared with the scheduling of a new trial and a new prosecutor.

I agree with other comments. Rather than a kill shot, a shot to the knee or ankle would have cause a fall or a least a stumble enabling tasers to be used by the other 2 officers. If police are going to be used for mental health crisis calls, then they need a new plan. Someone in a high manic state, as Dr. Grande has stated, is not going to obey or even comprehend instructions. As was sadly seen in this case, these individuals in crisis are more likely to get combative and threatening. With medical care and medication becoming more and more expensive, I would say that new police plan is needed now.

I can not blame the woman who "invented" this idea, but hearing her 2019 post was amazing and touching. How could anyone imagine the resulting insanity from a simple idea. Actually the smallest, least dangerous gender reveal was also the most hilarious. TIL if you want a blue toned cake, do not start with a yellow cake base.🤣 BTW, A movie, Addams Family Values (1993) has a scene with a father presenting his new baby to family. Questions of boy or girl come up. However the proud father holding his 3rd child says, "It's an Addams." I always loved that scene for its pure joy in the birth of a child.

This civil suit against JHACH by the Kowalski family was intended to publicly expose JHACH's unethical and unprofessional treatment of Maya and her family. There was an offered settlement before this civil suit went to court which was refused most likely due to a non-disclosure clause. Now having one of Kowalski's own attorneys placing the family in public display, even tangentially, is beyond sad.

SPTV is in the difficult growth (aka teenage) period where emotions can run high without the accompaniment of judgement. Studio PR tours can be mind numbing for all involved, but even fatigue does not excuse what appears to be adolescent behavior from these 2 adult celebrities (in 2015 Lively was 28 newly famous with Posey more the "veteran" at 47).  Interestingly this 2015 interview was "re-discovered" shortly after Justin Baldoni hired a crisis PR manager. I am going with Occam's razor believing that the set of "It Ends With Us" was more of an ego/power struggle between the director/lead actor/executive producer (Justin Baldoni) and lead actress/producer (Blake Lively). "It Ends With Us" was released 08/09/2024 and is already in profit mode. It does not seem as though any celebrities were irreparably harmed in the making of this 2024 film.😉

I am cynical. In "It Ends With Us", I see is a film with elements of romance and the promise of survival. I also see a film making way more money than most other films in its category (broken relationships/female-centric drama).  Many celebrities carry a kernel (sometimes a Birkin bag's worth) of narcissism within themselves. The studio puts these actors on marathon in-person interview tours. This does not excuse bad behavior, but it certainly allows it to flourish in a usually pampered but now tired, petulant perhaps altered actor. As I type this, whether for good, evil or a lack of anything new to post, internet sleuths are likely researching past interviews of everyone on this film.

No surprises. On 08/09/2024 Attorney Martin Weinberg spoke eloquently before Judge Cannone outlining the Defense's plea for dismissal and/or juror polling. Judge Cannone was politely "listening". However, I felt neither was connecting with the other. Weinberg was essentially "turning in his homework early" speaking to a future appellate court. Judge Cannone was probably already deep into the research process (or most likely her clerks) for the yet to be issued, denial. QUESTION: What could the 2nd trial look like as most of the prosecution witnesses from the first trial seemed to be afflicted with deficits in memory, competence and investigative abilities. Is finding impartial jurors within Norfolk County even still possible?

The interview with Ivan Velez, made it clear that the problem is not Rachel Gunn.  I am still not sure Rachel Gunn actually knows what went wrong at the Olympics. She is an unreliable narrator when it comes to judging her own skill set, but she does not seem to have any intent to denigrate or disrespect. There are 4 years until the next summer Olympics, I hope the suggestions and improvements that Mr. Velez and other experts have proposed are incorporated to avoid future "mistakes". One thing Rachel Gunn is on point about is that judgements can get posted online within minutes without even spending seconds on fact-checking or researching.

After years of trying to wear high heels, I became tired of rolled ankles and bruised feet. I have moved on to short boots with heels no higher than 2 3/4 inches. My feet are a bit "Goldilocks"-ish as I cannot walk comfortably in flats or stilettos, but only in footwear with heels of medium height and medium width (aka "just right"). While my footwear is not overly feminine (beyond fitting my tiny size 5 1/2 -  6 size feet), I would like to think that it is the entity wearing the shoes that sets that tone, not the shoes themselves. Full disclosure, I do envy those who can wear high heeled footwear, remain upright and actually walk in them.

The confusion regarding method dressing for this film directly relates to the confusing way this film has been promoted on the press tour. Watching interviews with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, had I not heard about the on-set problems, I would have assumed that these 2 individuals were promoting 2 separate movies.  Luke is correct, the (fashion) cure is, in one word...editing. Blake Lively is a stunning, tall, attractive, individual yet her clothes were "wearing her" almost comedically. Even if the film  character's name is Lily Bloom, many of Blake's looks had me asking, "why?"

It is a beautiful country. I noticed many of the roads had no side barriers, but I did not see any lighting. Do people not drive a night in Iceland or do they just always have their night vision eyewear with them? While I have no problem with anyone eating meat, I do not. I know fishing can be problematic due to overfishing and pollutants, but is that an affordable option at the local restaurants? Haha right before Morgan said, "I will not be getting sheep any time soon...", I wondered if he was scoping out the Icelandic sheep for future residency at Gold Shaw Farm!

Judge Cannone's denial of the Karen Read defense's team plea, was expected and unfortunately in line with Massachusetts law. FULL DISCLOSURE:  I went down a rabbit hole. I am probably wrong, but here it is. Beverly Cannone was nominated to be a judge on 04/16/2014. She was confirmed for that position on 05/07/2014.  In the CM, government workers, to become fully vested for a pension upon retirement, must have worked 10 consecutive years (check Mass.gov for more details). Karen Read's (first) trial began 04/16/2024. The number 10 provokes thoughts on my part. This could all be coincidence. As there is so much chicanery regarding this trial, it is not beyond imagination that a certain judge may have felt "obligated" to take a certain case due to certain requests.

That is terrifying, having a specialist attempt to prescribe medication without doing a thorough patient history along with a phone consult with the patient's other treating physicians. I hesitate to suggest this, because there are probably thousands of suggestions that pass through the comment section, but I had pain issues due to an arm injury. I do not do well on pain meds. I went to an acupuncturist and was very happy with the results. Perhaps my favorable result was simply a placebo effect, but whatever it was, my pain was drastically reduced as my arm healed.

It is not schadenfreude I promise, but I do enjoy seeing the messy reality of guinea pigs being presented by someone who truly understands these beings.  I acknowledge that it is in the guinea pig's nature to burrow, destroy hay, dump food and move anything not nailed down within their habitat to odd (at least to their humans) places.  As I say to my adorable wheeking "potatoes" on a daily basis, "you are lucky that you are so adorable."

I am subscribed to Heretics (and especially enjoyed the episode with Dr. Emma Hilton) and also the substack. However, I will keep this channel subscription on my feed. Perhaps this channel could be the home for other objects of interest, interviews, commentaries that do not match the "fit" of the Heretics channel?  While I am not in agreement with all opinions voiced on the Heretics channel, I do enjoy the departures from the echo chamber (no doubt maintained by 'bots running an algorithm) that is social media. Listening is a skill that we all need to constantly upgrade and renew.

Also probably just me, I frequently do a search starting with the words: "spoilers for" any films that are horror/thrillers. I am the person that you never want to sit next to during a movie with jump scares. I do not jump during those unpleasant crescendos in the audio, I levitate. Spoilers enable me to watch good thrillers or horror movies with the benefit  of an auditory vaccination.  BTW  Hello Bibbs! LOVE your podcast, "Critically Acclaimed Network".

I suppose that this suit explains what was meant when Paul O'Keefe said to Karen Read as he left court on day mistrial was declared, "And I just said, 'You know, you are not done yet. '"  I understand the timing due to 3 year time limit in CM, but the waste of so much time and expense to further the cause of retribution is sad. While Officer John O'Keefe died on January 29, 2022 in retrospect so did the normality of day to day life of all involved parties whether through this tragic accident or deliberate corruption.

Amazing after what happened to Charla Nash (the unfortunate neighbor not Travis' "owner"), that any non-professional would even consider acquiring a chimpanzee. We really need to redefine "exotic pets", because included in that definition are guinea pigs along with any animal that is not a cat, dog or farm animal. I 100% promise that neither of my two guinea pigs will cause extreme bodily injury...or worse to any human.

One of the comments mentioned, "My Friend Alfred", which sounds plausible. However, wouldn't Alfred have "confessed" by now?  Sir Porkington was there for AM feeding upon the return from Iceland but not the PM feeding that same day? That interval would make theft by humans a difficult operation. If one of the group is sick, do pigs have the instinct to force any sick one out, even considering the electrical fence?   Beyond setting up more cameras, as a non-farmer I have no other ideas.

It would be a kindness to these "prank" pinheads were such an action taken. If nothing else to determine the state of their brains. I know that the frontal lobe does not fully mature in most people until 25, but these fame w***** will not cease independently unless done forcibly by entities like law enforcement, prosecutors, judges with the destination (hopefully not "Final") of very uncomfy cages (without Wi-Fi and toilet lids).

What we have here (think the memorable vocal tones of the late great character actor Strother Martin in his performance from the 1967 Film, Cool Hand Luke) is the failure of logic, intellect and ethics. Instead we get, corruption + self-entitlement + magical thinking. This equation led to the blame of the "outsider" in this group, Karen Read. Is Karen Read Mother Theresa, no but neither is she a comic book super-villain. Eventual outcome of this civil suit...(1) as Karen Read cannot be questioned during discovery, it will be stayed (2) the 2nd trial, if it takes place or if it is dropped will eliminate most of the causes of action in this civil suit and (3) eventually suit will be settled probably to no one's satisfaction after arbitration and the placement of a non-disclosure clause. Karen Read will move on, I have doubts about many others.

After someone quite dangerous like this former officer is put into custody without bail, we usually breathe a sigh of relief. That is not possible in this situation. For this individual to walk freely and continue his life after the tragedy of February 1, 2021 until quite recently, he had to have powerful people who would essentially be co-conspirators in his crime. May every single one of those co-conspirators be removed from power and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

If that area had been called Summer Springs instead of Disney Springs, severing Disney as a defendant in this law suit might have been possible. Disney guards its IP quite vigorously. Making it contractually impossible, for example a previously family-oriented restaurant to rebrand by adding exotic dancers and smoking to their establishment probably would be considered breach of the rental contract. Following that logic, there must be clauses in all contracts for all businesses in Disney Springs to stay family friendly and accessible to all patrons. What amazes me (or maybe it should not) was that no one at Disney corporate said, "wait a minute, let's think this through".

I agree, a lifeguard who does not properly guard or show concern about a life would seem to be not only a contradiction in terms, but a textbook example of gross negligence. The point about Texas heat vs Wisconsin more temperate climate is yet another factor that a plaintiff can cite in a wrongful death suit. QUESTION: Could this athlete's death result in a criminal charge being filed against the CEO of CrossFit...I am not certain as Texas is very corporation friendly. There is a correlation to the RUST tragedy. While the lifeguards were essentially useless, the blame for this death would be better laid at the feet of the owners of CrossFit. Punishing one or two lifeguards will not ensure the safety of future participants.

Chunky bees and improved Asian clouds were excellent calls. This is an exquisite gown which looks like it was plucked out of a museum exhibit. However this gown can go out, be seen dancing and enjoying a gala. My personal gown dreams are any that can move with the wearer. Bodycon dresses can be attractive, but they don't waltz very smoothly.

QUESTION: I did not see this statement on the survey:  Believe Bryan Kohberger "might be" or "could be" or "possibly be",  guilty of murder. Wouldn't this option be of value for compiling stats? Or is my wording inherently faulty as what I have just typed would be more in question format than statement format?  MOVING TRIAL:  In general for any heavily media-covered trial, I would say there should be a very detailed voir dire involving questionnaires and with private interviews with each juror with only the defense, prosecution and judge present. However, the population of Latah County (current location of Kohberger trial) is much smaller than that of Ada County. That is an important factor for any jury pool. Also, this trial will have an influx of media and others along with the challenge of maintaining safety and security for trial participants. For that reason, not juror bias, this trial might be best served by a move to a larger area like Ada County.

Looking at interviews of Burke Ramsey as an adult, he has characteristics of being "on the spectrum". On 12/25/1996, I believe for a period of time the parents did suspect Burke, thus destroying important evidence, adding false evidence (the letter) and perhaps even moving JonBenét. As John Bennett Ramsey is now 80 years old and Patsy Ramsey died in 2006, it is likely we will never know for certain what actually happened without a confession from the perpetrator.

Parker Posey especially seems off with an odd head tilt @1:49-51, hair play @18:39-42 and nail play @19:01-07. Here and there Parker Posey had a sprinkling of slurred words. I agree that Blake was annoyed by the statement regarding her personal condition. The editing of this interview showed none of these 3 in a good light. Why was the camera focused so long on interviewer not asking questions? Why make her look powerless? Full disclosures:  I have zero knowledge concerning the day-to-day personalities of Kjersti Flaa, Blake Lively or Parker Posey, so I have no clue as to whether this interview reflected behavior contrary to their baseline or not.

There is obvious commonality to both the Birchmore and the Read cases. This crossover is not just regarding certain LE participants. Go higher. The DA of Norfolk County signed off on both cases, resulting in ignoring Sandra Birchmore's obvious cause of demise and hyper-focusing on Karen Read using the most incompetent police work seen outside of a satirical film. BTW, Todd McGhee is always has the best commentary, ethically and intellectually, of any panel on which he appears.
