MARCH 2023

Posted to Emily D. Baker (RE: Sentencing Alex Murdaugh) uploaded to You Tube 03/03/2023

I felt a guilty verdict would be a proper end to this trial, although with the spotty investigation on the night of the  murder made me think that the jury would be deadlocked or even go with a non-guilty verdict. The video at the kennel was a random event that   proved impactful. (As usual) Emily is correct, I am not satisfied or dissatisfied with this verdict. I am very sad for the victims' friends, family and community that has lost so much. They cannot get Paul and Maggie back, but someday perhaps they will get the ability to be able to trust back.

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: Two teens barracaded in their mom's house) You Tube 03/03/2023

I do not understand why there isn't a court appointed therapist, social worker and psychiatrist each having separate consults with both teenagers and their mother in one on one meetings. Why is the father assumed to be the wronged party? Why aren't the children being believed? Why isn't the mother being questioned along with consideration of any affidavits (neighbors, teachers, relatives) from other adults in these two teenagers' lives? Yes people lie, but professionals can often observe behavioral traits to either support or negate claims of abuse. So I guess to summarize:  WHY???

Posted to Mama Doctor Jones (RE: Jessa Duggar's loss) uploaded to You Tube 03/03/2023

I respect Jessa Duggar Seewald for being so open about her pregnancy loss. Many just stay quiet which I understand, as this is a devastating loss. I hate that this subject has been so politicized, but what if Jessa had not been allowed to have this procedure irregardless of the missed miscarriage. She might have lost the ability to have additional (she currently has 4) children or worse yet, died. I think that is why people are so upset. Admittedly Twitter is not any kind of monument to logic, science and empathy.  Also shame on People Magazine for resorting to click bait and editing to acquire views. Clouding this issue, only results in further divisiveness and misunderstandings.

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Justin Bieber's Tour Cancelled) Uploaded to You Tube 03/03/2023

I think this reading highlighted possible reasons for Justin Bieber's cancelled tour. A tour like Justin Bieber's would have required being in top shape physically, emotionally and mentally. With starting his career so so young, this cancellation could have arisen from a type of mid-life crisis. This lack of focus plus his past health issues (Ramsay Hunt Syndrome) may have led to the tour's cancellation.

That was WAY too realistic, when I think of all the IOS updates that I have agreed to, I would totally not be surprised to be marooned on Mars as one of the first citizen "volunteer" settlers. Mars isn't the scary part, being marooned with Elon would be the terrifying part.

AND:

Pinned by LegalEagle: "What Should I React To Next?"

Which actor in a theatrical film is the "best" (I will let LegalEagle decide on the definition of "best" attorney) Hollywood presentation of a lawyer.  Harrison Ford (in Presumed Innocent), Tom Cruise (in The Firm or A Few Good Men), Reese Witherspoon (in any Legally Blonde movie), Robert Redford (in Legal Eagles...of course!), Robert Downey Jr. (in The Judge), Cher (in Suspect) and last but not least  Joe Pesci (in My Cousin Vinny).

I think the jury got it as correct as possible given the alternatives and the conditions as presented. Great readings (this one and the one posted August, 2022) regarding this complex mix of John Grisham novels and Shakespearean tragedies.

Posted to Philip DeFranco (RE: News of the Day, TikToker wraps toddler in saran wrap) 03/08/2023

I watched that clip twice (so hard to rewatch). In my opinion the child seemed upset and at best confused. Swaddling (within a blanket) is a thing, to quiet infants (usually aged weeks - maybe 2 months). For older (ambulatory) children an appropriately, for child's weight and size, weighted blanket or vest can be used. I have no doubt this woman loves her child, but her judgement of a "cute family video" indicates that while she can keep her child,   parental classes should be mandatory.

Unless new evidence comes out (perhaps through the exhumation of Gloria Satterfield and re-examination of evidence in Stephen Smith case), I am left with an odd confluence of feelings;  reasonable doubt might not have been satisfied, but also the proper verdict was delivered. It will be hard for me, as a stranger to the people, the area, that lifestyle, to move on. My hopes and wishes go to those who have no choice but to remain in that community and emotionally move on.

BTW:  Bubba is the bestest boy, along with all the 4-footed (and avian) residents of that kennel. They were smarter than SLED, more honest than the defendant and had more clarity than the attorneys for the defense and prosecution.

I enjoyed this vlog format. Corsets are my friend. Ordinary ones (not bespoke or repros) got me through a painful rib injury to healing without incident or discomfort. I agree that considering widespread SH and other workplace incidents (2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins) on entertainment sets, to be primarily worried about corsets is actually demeaning to us all. Plus what about models...have you seen the footwear they are forced to wear to participate in their livelihood? Anyway a properly fitted corset is not our enemy.

The orange knit vest, yes it is still orange, but looks so much better after surgery. I highly recommend this Rachel quote for a tee shirt or better yet a banner for one's closet, "We  don't have time for dresses we can't eat snacks in." That mission statement may help me purge my closet.

Thank you to Runkle for highlighting Annette Evans along with this information. Being a victim can happen to any of us. My self-defense methods are decidedly not related to weapons as basically me carrying any traditional weapon would be giving the aggressor a free level-up. I use direct eye contact (for that lazy predator), no eye contact (for that crazy predator) and for that persistent predator I recommend tossing an open huge bag of jalapeño-flavored chips or something more accessible, such as large bespoke beverage, to gain those precious few seconds of freedom after illustrating Newton's First Law (Inertia).

Posted to the Lawyer You Know (RE: Laundrie Letter) uploaded to You Tube 03/11/2023

I agree with the comments and LYN. This letter should be admitted, but under seal/confidentiality. The behavior of Brian Laundrie's parents after Brian returned alone with Gabby's vehicle is probably not legally admissible, their actions in that time period makes me doubt their judgement. Brian Laundrie is now labeled an abuser, a murderer and a coward in perpetuity, so how bad can that letter be? Not legality, just my "gut", but the Laundries appear to have a Murdaugh-vibe to them.

Excellent analysis! I always felt that Will Smith losing control that night one year ago would result in more damage than simply losing an Academy membership and a few roles. Will Smith hit someone smarter, someone with more social media power and as the recipient of a slap someone more sympathetic. Did Chris Rock go too far, no. Chris Rock waited a year, wrote a new act and had it put on a major streaming service BEFORE this year's Oscar telecast. Chris Rock fought back appropriately and with surgical precision. Perhaps someone should send Mr. Smith tee shirt merch from Chris Rock's show only with an additional graphic, "Next time use your words."

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Ashley Graham Oscar Red Carpet Interview) You Tube 03/15/2023

Sure Ashley Graham could have thrown that Hamlet quote at Hugh Grant "What a piece of work is man..."which posits the conclusion, "this quintessence of dust...." but where would the fun be in that? From what I have heard producers feed the interviewers obligatory questions. Ashley and Hugh were merely that "...poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." (Macbeth)   See don't I sound irritatingly pretentious?😉

REFERENCE NOTES (not posted)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

from Hamlet Act 2 Scene 2 (spoken by Hamlet):

"What a piece of work is man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculty in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god, the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals! And yet to me what is this quintessence of dust?"

from Macbeth Act 5 Scene 5 (spoken by Macbeth):

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,To the Last Syllable of recorded time,And All our yesterdays have lighted fools The Way to Dusty Death. Out, Out, Brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Great reading, good warning, probably poor self-reflection regarding Kardashian/Jenner family. I wonder if Kim K. (with SKIMS), might be her family's savior? Kind of sad that she is her family's seemingly most reasonable, self-aware member. Remember last year when Kim K. misjudged public opinion regarding the MM gown at the Met Gala and did not do her due diligence on that crypto offering that used her name as a spokesperson. QUESTION for a future reading: Is the public (and thus corporate affiliates) growing tired of drama as a means to sell products and personalities?

That being said I hope family and friends make sure that mind and body he is currently in a safe space.

Posted to the Lawyer You Know (RE: NM special prosecutor leaves Baldwin case)  03/15/2023

Why did NM special prosecutor charge Alec Baldwin with an ineligible endorsement? I hate to go the conspiracy route, but the level of stupidity here seems incomprehensible. All I can think of is the NM office was set up to fail or is amazingly (almost statistically improbably), incompetent.

Posted to the Lawyer You Know (RE: TikTok psychic claims slander) Uploaded to YT 03/14/2023

Leniency should go to the professor. This professor's greatest "crime" was simply being on an easily accessible university online list of professors by department. The TikTok personality could have easily gotten clicks by inference, by suppositions, by not using actual names, by simply posting daily not by destroying a person's privacy and safety. Being a single mother, a veteran and involved in other lawsuits (shocker) is not, should not be, a mitigating factor in this case.

Posted to Runkle of The Bailey (RE: NM special prosecutor in RUST case steps down) 03/15/2023

In a perfect world, there would be the creation of a Halyna Hutchins Law in New Mexico (nationwide would be nice if our/U.S. lawmakers could agree on anything) to prevent any movie set from compromising safety protocols in regards to budget. Not fond of Baldwin, at all, but there were decisions by others which led the mess of live and dummy ammunition being on the RUST set. One could use the analogy of Baldwin (the actor not as a producer),  Hannah Gutierrez-Reed (armorer) and lucky (aka accepted a plea deal) Dave Halls (A.D.) as being the live bullet, put there by entities who simply did not care about anything beyond money. This movie could have been made without the loss of an emerging artist, a mother and a wife.

We will never know the truth, unless lightening hits and adjusts the circuitry of AM's frontal lobe. However there is one giant truth that irritatingly runs through my brain on a loop, it is that if the Moselle Camp had been properly secured and searched by SLED on June 7 2021, AM might have avoided a murder charge and the exhumations of Gloria Satterfield and (probably) Stephen Smith. The death of Mallory Beach has been settled in a civil trial ending in January 2023. Obviously as PM is deceased that eliminates the need for a criminal trial.

Posted to Uncivil Law (RE: Transgender Lawsuit) Uploaded to You Tube 03/16/2023

I doubt that current U.S. national laws (states might vary), are up to the task of legally determining the efficacy of this case. Puberty is the marker when genetic males increase in bone density and in muscle mass usually surpassing genetic females' development in those areas in that same time period. I would reduce this issue to numbers. If the child's identity choice is affirmed by their pediatrician who administers hormone blockers and a psychiatrist/psychologist along with bone and muscle numbers comparable to their chosen identity/age group then why not? There is the question of locker rooms and bathrooms as that child's identity would not match that child's anatomy. This gets much more problematic if the child's identity change occurs after puberty and/or without hormone blockers.

Posted to Gold Shaw Farm (RE: Bee keeping) Uploaded to You Tube  03/18/2023

When starting a new hive I would add a metal strip inside the hive with my data. Somehow (I have no idea on hive construction or for that matter bee-caretaking) hiding this metal strip where it would not be noticed by thieves or harmful to its occupants. Since all thieves are inherently lazy taking the path of least resistance, you could probably just incorporate this strip into the more (theft) accessible hives. Have your ring doorbell (hopefully with "enhanced range" facing towards your hive). Ring doorbells are small, not readily noticeable and many people have them so again the lazy thief probably won't worry. All that being said I agree with Morgan in that we should rethink how we farm and how pollination can be made less bee-centric. Although to mix animal metaphors, I think the bee is comparable to the canary in the coal mine. Do not ignore it. I must admit to being part of the problem. All the lattes that I buy start with almond milk...sorry!

No one took a video at the time? I would have assumed just for liability insurance the ski slope owners would have strategically placed cameras, especially on the beginner's slope. I am assuming no malice on GP's part, maybe hubris on judging her level of expertise. However that scream indicated problems. If two beginners, whether skiers or any sport become injured due to a collision, I would blame those in charge of maintaining the location, the equipment, onsite instructors, owners of the site and maybe the actual participant (if said participant deliberately caused the accident). Unfortunately out of that group, GP may be the wealthiest, not the guiltiest, hence her inclusion in the lawsuit.

Posted to Lets Talk IBD (RE: Getting Insurance Claims Paid) Uploaded to You Tube 03/23/2023

I speak as yet another veteran of trying to get insurance to pay for what they promised (in print) in their nifty little booklets sent out at insurance renewal time. I fully believe that this part of insurance companies are deliberately failing consumers due to low staffing, rapid turnover and even lower pay.  There are outliers who process claim questions efficiently and accurately. One time I actually got HR to get a claim paid by "yelling politely" at the insurance carrier. However I no longer work at that corporation and not every employer will battle for you to be reimbursed. Currently when there is an issue, I am online reading through the most boring, badly written yet the most important when you are ill, documents ever written. Even tech manuals and IKEA directions are easier to follow. It is almost a rush when you catch insurance companies with their own "small print". So my advice is read the relevant documents as if you were taking a mandatory course at school or trying a case in court.

I know thrifting is best but purchasing the emerald green corduroy was the right choice. My favorite part (not counting seeing a human wrestle with a rolling chair) was the embroidery on the top. Was there any extra fabric left? If so (maybe removing faux wood) make a kind of weird curvy pillow chair top shaped in the style of the top of a Doric column or maybe more GoT-ish, only without the pointy objects? You could use velcro to attach "Doric pillow" to top of chair? No slight intended to the final chair evolution, it has much more personality than its clinical grey former self...and I have no filter.

My only feelings on celebrity or anyone's photos is that along with the person who took the photos being tagged, for the sake of fans/followers, also list any alterations or filters used. Be clear about your process, whether you post yourself as a cat or add a "beauty" filter. Humanity has altered images of reality since cave drawings. Doubtful that anyone is stopping that habit any time soon. Of course the "baby's" appearance kind of sealed the deal of me being creeped out. A spy balloon almost seems like a contradiction in terms. This thing got more coverage than Elon Musk buying, then not buying, then buying a super popular social media site. This was not exactly a covert operation by China. I am surprised that "brain trusts" like Greene and Gosar did not indicate a new variant of COVID was somehow involved.

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Chinese Spy Balloon) Uploaded to You Tube 02/06/2023

This reading seemed spot-on. My admittedly limited knowledge of international politics leads me to agree that the wandering balloons (was there one in South America somewhere?) was a mistake. China has been playing the long game politically before this (the U.S.) country was "born". However sometimes being convinced of your own superiority allows things to get out of hand, such as a virus which I believe was accidental, when you do not listen to dissenting opinions in your own circle. Personally I thought the concept of a spy balloon was the best illustration of an oxymoron that I have heard! I mean it is all over my news feed and the subject of conjecture all over the world.

I was pleased to see that Dan Murrell did a long form video on this subject. The subject needs clarity. Ironically, this kerfuffle exposes the way that the well-financed studios can drive the process to their advantage and how the suits still do not understand the power of social media. Dan Murrell's proposed changes would allow indies to compete with blockbusters ($20k to upload their movie to the Oscar screening room, really get a better service provider Academy!) Poor Frances Fisher, she meant no harm, but should take that 1 year suspension with grace quickly. BTW, my guess on that unnamed executive/producer who in the 90's changed Academy campaigning rules was correct. I do not like the idea of hunting, full disclosure I did not watch that part of this video, but I understand the concept of population control and the obvious need for providing food for oneself. Traditional hunting (on public lands or private if one has owner's permission) is necessary when the population in the wild has exceeded the environment's ability to compensate. I even agree with putting trackers on dogs as they could become injured/lost needing quick recovery. This should not mean that anyone can trespass with a tech-enhanced dog (seen that movie does not end well)onto private property. Perhaps it is just my seemingly nihilistic news feed, but everyone seems to be superglued to their viewpoints without seeing a middle ground.

This video had lots of good hints for finding THE shoe. I do not know why they make models wear fantasy shoes. Unless you are a shoe supplier, you want to highlight the outfit not the footwear. However modeling issues is a whole different video. Wonder if there is a historical direction for a video on this? Guessing the 1800's were not the time for live modeling?

Since I did not have access to this video until this post, I have wasted lots of cash on shoes that seemed to fit and function for an hour or so, but then utterly epic fail by evening. My daily shoes are short zip up boots ("booties") with heels (not stiletto or narrow) between 2 - 2 1/2  inches. I have walked 2 miles in short boots without problems. As for dress shoes, I found that a slight platform of maybe 1/4 - 1/2 inch supports my foot comfortably in 2  3/4 - 3 inch heels. I have skinny feet, wonky ankles and out of proportion (they look huge to me) toes so obviously what is good for me won't work globally.

The voiceover actor sounded a bit ominous, doesn't make me want to inquire further. However huge compliments to Planters' for making the most relevant meme I have seen in quite a while. As for commercial itself, the data presented is a bit vague much too abstract. When the print graphic appears indicating who created this video, then one can see that the whole lack of practical information and vacuous message is right in line with their cult.

QUERY:   Tom Cruise appears to be immortal (joke folks), however should he get on Elon's spaceship to Mars or suddenly get clarity and leave the group, what would Scientology do to replace him? Please tell me that no one in the U.S. House of Rep. or Senate or Supreme Court or any cabinet or military role is a member. On second thought, maybe I do not want to know.

Yes, I have been to many cons and been unusually lucky regarding illnesses. Ironically I went to a con maybe 2 or 3 days before my area was home to a superspreader event (this was the original COVID strain that was sending so many to hospitals and ventilators) which ironically began at a Biogen (nice planning guys) conference close to the con I attended. Never got a cold (or COVID). Went into quarantine about a week later and ate ice cream for about 5 months to keep calm.
While JASE seems like a good idea remember medication has expiration dates. For example amoxicillin capsules and tablets when stored properly will last approximately 2 years (per the internet). I did not check on the rest of the drugs mentioned. Oddly the prices are higher in Canada, thought you guys had better health care than the U.S.

Just a guess, but I wonder if the prosecution is trying to convince the jury that Alex Murdaugh is a sociopath as was suggested in this video. Hence that very detailed financial data. There probably cannot be a psych eval. so perhaps the prosecution is trying to show that Alex Murdaugh was more than capable to lie to friends, family, clients and co-workers without any indication to those people that he was lying. Who can lie without the body language, the dialogue or even the tone of his voice giving him/her/them away? Who can sound sincere, smile and be friendly all while lying? I did not get A levels in the abnormal psych course I took in college, but Alex Murdaugh seems to show pathology similar to a sociopath.

Ironic that in preserving the chain of command/authority to promote an orderly environment as Dr. Grande pointed out instead resulted in anarchy. One can only imagine what has happened in cases where there was no gun involved such as any student with behavioral issues or who was bullied. Every administrator at this school (were I on the school board I would reassess the entire district or that town will sink into debt paying civil suit judgements) should be fired or retrained before being allowed to re-apply for their previous job. All school administrators have shown by THEIR behavior a need for a remedial class on what is acceptable behavior at school and what is not.

If I understand this correctly it appears that Texas law is more protective of the individual investor/consumer regarding class action suits than California. I feel somewhat guilty for internally profiling these states as I had assumed it would be the opposite. Also, this is a warning to all of us, before you invest check out applicable local laws, along with of course thoroughly reading the proposal agreement regarding said investment. That being said, I can not even count the times that I have clicked "I agree" on an Apple update or purchase without reading through the terms and conditions. What the blank Canada, being clueless and lawless is our (U.S.) job.  Wasn't anyone else fired or punished? Seems that there had to be more guilty parties than just the negligent officer. Who authorized repair of the vehicle? How was the damage listed and explained? How was the missing ammunition explained to department heads as I assume that bullets just don't pick themselves up and depart?  BTW love the comment that the caribou left, as it was "the smarter one". I would be interested in a limited coverage on the sanity/insanity portion of the trial, but not the details of this case for obvious reasons. This does sound like postpartum psychosis but as her youngest child was 8 months old, one would assume her deviation from normalcy would have been observable by people close to her (husband, physician, therapist). Of course this might have been a reaction to a recently prescribed drug. Rehab takes mental strength, dedication and purpose in order to work. As of the moment, she has none of those attributes. However, even if her broken body can be "repaired", if her broken brain returns to normalcy the realization of what she has done would be devastating.

I went through a relatively short period (maybe one year) where due to treatments I was exhausted all the time and not very hungry. Some people knew why, most did not. I would just say "fine, just sleep deprived" to most queries. Blunt honesty is a bit too much for large groups containing mostly people who do not know you very well. You are not lying, actually you are helping with crowd control.😉    Obviously if you feel about to pass out, TELL SOMEONE.
As for cooking, I know most of us have budget restrictions, but just buy food to bring with you unless you can nap sufficiently. It is certainly easier than predicting how a chronic illness will be reacting at party time. Even easier if the party has a theme (maybe Mexico?) there is a certain taco place (no sponsors so no names) that is quite reasonably priced. . Also try to make this purchased food something you also can eat without metabolic repercussions. Spontaneity by definition is something fluid, fast moving with changes. Consequently it changes as we age, if we change employment, if we change/acquire partner, or even if we move. Not too much specifics, I know but I appreciate this question being raised as most medical personnel may not be in a position to give any advice so thank you.

The primary threat of these balloons appear to be for civilian aircraft and of course debris falling. I wonder if environmental activists are responsible for the 3 balloons? Perhaps their (activists') energy along with the methods used are influencing this reading?

A professional and thorough investigation by SLED might have eliminated AM as the accused in this trial or even as a co-conspirator (not the subject of the current trial).  Due to massive theft from clients, friends, co-workers and relatives and two unsolved murders the legacy of the Murdaugh family is now as material for true crime streaming movies, podcasts and maybe even criminal law classes, as in what not to do at a murder scene investigation.

That chart on cat relationships is not a joke (admittedly I did laugh). It is complex situation. And to make things even more complicated is if one cat is feeling off, as the cats age or even if there is the presence of an ("intact") male cat in the neighborhood that nifty chart can change radically. Add a kitten or new furniture to the household and the whole chart can flip and mix to become unrecognizable.  Full disclosure: my only expertise in domestic cat psychology comes from living with changing groups of cats since my childhood. Punishment should (but won't) be reserved for all the entities involved in limiting the budget in regards weapons, ammunition and all safety rules. I mean a PART-TIME armorer should be an oxymoron. Yes there obviously is guilt attached to all 3 listed in the original indictment, but this film had more dropped balls than a child's ball pit. What happened to Halyna Hutchins was easily avoidable and preventable had finances been better and management cared more. Ironically due to finances future movie insurers will probably be unwilling to cover a movie set without proper safety protocols in place and documented.

Just a flippant guess, but I wonder if there was a vacation period at the special prosecutor's office? Perhaps adding a new law's scope of punishment to an old crime on an already filed indictment was set in motion by some first year's (law students) who were sleep-deprived? Also just a random thought, maybe the PR office of said special prosecutor's office also being on vacation, requisitioned some middle school students in need of a bump up in grades to be in charge of the press release regarding this "correction". Sorry, just trying to make sense of this mess. Hope the family of Halyna Hutchins gets justice and that this tragedy never happens again.

Bottom line the community of Moscow has suffered greatly. The professor is trying to get her life back. Another vote here for an Alex Murdaugh analysis. His fame and success as a liar is now extremely well-documented. He even admits to it during his testimony. The Behavior Bureau could compare his behavior (which I feel was rehearsed, but that is to be expected) at this murder trial to any several older (older than June 7 2021) videos. He was an extremely famous (now infamous) person in his area so I would expect at least several local television interviews.

The attorneys of AM most likely made sure their client was well-rehearsed.  So continuity and consistency by AM does not surprise. QUESTION: Is "rehearsal" typical when a defendant testifies in their own defense? AM has proven he can cry on command. AM has also proven that he is an excellent liar with less than adequate ethics. Whether thanks to an ineffective investigation and/or the Murdaugh name, unfortunately doubtful that the jury will come back with a unanimous verdict of guilty.

While I feel that Alex Murdaugh is involved and/or knows who probably murdered Paul and Maggie Murdaugh, there is not enough forensic proof of guilt regarding the defendant, AM. Just being sarcastic, but after the jury is either deadlocked or votes for acquittal the defense's compliments should be relayed to SLED and local law enforcement. Defense could not have accomplished representing Murdoch so successfully without the inexpert behavior of the designated experts.

I am not angry at any player, I am angry with the NFL, the team owners, the coaches and the team physicians. Humans are not "designed" to withstand this punishment. The helmet alone is not enough protection from a hit like Damar Hamlin took and can even make a hit more deadly. In the early 2000's this doctor: (https://www.ama-assn.org/about/leadership/physician-who-discovered-cte-nfl-players-gets-ama-s-highest-honor) discovered what the long term effects of head trauma was. Even if Damar Hamlin survives, will he be the same person? What will his health be like in 10 - 20 years?

Violent sports is not the issue, but protecting all players is as ethical on a playing field as it would be in any workplace related situation.

If the Converted Barn Home is a fav, just to be safe see if you can negotiate to buy a buffer area beyond (and that includes) the fence that abuts your property?  A shared fence does give me pause, regarding maintenance and liability. The friendly local winery could have been there for years and then someday sold to a developer, (thinking of the winery kerfuffle in the Jolie-Pitt divorce). You never know when today's genial neighbor could be tomorrow's foreign unreachable corporation...obviously I am a "glass half empty" type and an OCD worrier😉. Regarding TikTok performers or any influencers passionating chasing fame, there is a line you do not cross. I am not a constitutional scholar (I will not even go into my grade for U.S. History class in college😧), but free speech does not allow you to falsely yell fire in a crowded building resulting in injuries and deaths due to stampeding nor does the promise of free speech  include defamation of a private citizen exposing said private citizen to danger and injury.

Comment by@JEISHII:   It's all about intent. Technically not illegal to yell fire unless it's provable you intended to cause serious harm. It's kind of fuckered.
My response to:    @Jeishii  True. Depends on the situation and the person. For example an individual with Tourette's Syndrome who yelled fire would probably exit a jury trial with "not guilty". An 70 year old who mistakenly took people smoking/vaping  as a potential danger, probably also "not guilty". However an adult female who yells fire (or murder) to get views, fame and clicks will not fare nearly as well as the previously 2 hypothetical cases.

I cannot imagine being in that situation as a child. Even as an adult, I twice stayed too long in a bad medical situation. In one case a second opinion from another physician made the original doctor, more attentive to my treatment. In the second instance, my primary care physician insisted I was "fine'. I went to a specialist who agreed with me in that I was "not fine". So I switched to another primary care physician in the same practice. It is hard to not take this personally, but you must think of physicians as if they were any other service providers. What always makes it hard is the physical aspect of medical care. I think that makes the whole relationship seem personal instead of professional. Whether it is your vehicle, your home or your body, get the treatment and the care that you deserve.

The indictment of Alec Baldwin (as actor AND producer), Hannah Gutierrez Reed (armorer) and David Halls (assistant director) is understandable. However I do not understand why the prop house and its owner Seth Kenney along with the prop master (supervisor of armorer, Gutierrez Reed) Sarah Zachry aren't also named in that indictment. Live rounds were mixed with "dummies" (fake rounds) at the prop house. The live rounds were found on various locations at this movie. These live rounds did not walk themselves into a second location. Two previous "accidental" shootings on set and Hannah Gutierrez Reed having the title of armorer but was only allowed to do this job part time further enlarge the list that should be on this indictment, but as of this comment are not. The multitude of mistakes made are a direct result of the cost cutting on a movie set where REAL weapons were used. The producers saved their precious coins, resulting in the loss of a precious life Halyna Hutchins. She was a wife, mother and a rising artist in her field. Now she is only a memory and a subject in multiple trials, civil and criminal.

Since it is the same person taking the weight every week, so you cannot say would I would love to say (to a person I probably would not run into again). "Tell you what, if I could I would trade my low weight for your healthy colon." 🙄Yup definitely make would make the next visit a bit stressful.😉  Instead smile very widely, speak in a slightly higher voice, say: "But you look so good, so healthy (am assuming this individual is of average weight and height), I bet you are very active. You probably hike (insert any physical activity here)!" Be sure to accompany this comment with lots of smiling so as to make the comments nonthreatening. I have an issue with my weight and dread those medical weigh-ins which are not mandated due to any condition I currently have. Fortunately no one makes personal or unprofessional comments to me, but internally when the weight is announced (out loud no less in a hallway) it does not do much for my self-esteem. Weirdly enough they NEVER EVER announce my blood pressure (which is a medical issue) out loud which is done in the privacy of the exam room. I always have to ask for the diastolic/systolic numbers. What the _____ with that?!

As for your SO, well sometimes guys just want to help, make life easier for you, kind of snow plow the way ahead of you. Tell him, just brush the snow off your shoulders. That act of brushing the snow off your shoulders would equate to just agreeing with you, standing with you, just being moral (and silent) support.❤

Any animal native to the area is part of a system.  Systems only work efficiently when all parts are in good working order (sorry about the frozen pump btw). Demonizing any indigenous animal, insect or plant is a major error. However, the case against import of non-native plants, insects and animals is much easier to understand. For example people releasing pet pythons that grew too big and strong (wow bet those snake owners never saw that coming🙄) in places like Florida end up destroying the local plant and wildlife very quickly. As for less dramatic interlopers just do a search for "Kudzu" to see the damage an invasive plant is capable of accomplishing. Curious if Morgan spoke during that coyote discussion during the town meeting. Unfortunately these days, the middle ground is a lonely place to reside. Also, I know Gold Farm is not exactly in suburbia, but have their been any complaints about barking (not counting the raccoon/bear hunters)? I agree that kind of barking is good, it alerts the neighbors also that "something is lurking about".

Not going down this rabbit hole any further as this is the job of internet sleuths, LegalEagles and interns working for experience not cash. However the name on this page for the property is David Jones. Call me prescient, omniscient or a person who loved history courses in school, but I am guessing that this David Jones is not the late lamented member of the mid-twentieth century rock group, "The Monkees" and could possibly be a friend or relative of Alex Jones.

While I do love Lucy (part 1) and Caitlin (part 2) portions of this series, I think that Bek is my fav so far. The bird swoops and genuine befuddlement as to the reason for certain garments were hysterical. Full disclosure, her reactions were very similar to what mine would have been under similar conditions. Excellent camera work by Lucy, however (might be just me) but volume seemed a little low. LOVE you Alex, but yes that last dress looked like cosplay (in the fun game I play at thrift shops: "Clothing or Cosplay") for playing Annabelle (2014 horror/thriller film).

Yes, I do cut those hanging ribbons out of clothing immediately after purchase. I have never regretted that decision. It is a minor personal victory but I take what I can get!  Never would have thought of doing that to a stretched out sweater, great outcome!

QUERY:  I may have over-shortened by 1 - 2 inches a full sequined (teeny tiny size dots basically) black skirt which has a loose black lining that is only attached to the waist area. I have a few ideas (I have saved most of the cut fabric maybe about 5-6 inches), but I trust Wendy and subscribers for better ideas. This would have to be completed on a strictly hand-sown basis as my insurance carrier would prefer if I stay away from sewing machines for the immediate future🤣? BTW just to give you an idea of my skill set, one of my "saves" is to wear the skirt with black bike shorts, opaque black tights and/or boots.

I think that Patreon is a good way to avoid burnout acquired by worrying about You Tube algorithms or copyright issues.  Perhaps do the "looonnng" videos (I will define "looonnng" as videos exceeding 35 minutes) with all questionable comments, words, ideas, proposals, philosophies and opinions (Susan and her 'bots are HARSH) kept in for the Patreon people, but being yeeted for the "free" You Tube versions. Yes extra editing required, BUT not extra crafting work and occasional recriminations. So almost a 2 for 1 for a creator? I don't really know as my creative crafting endeavors involve removing excess decor (some people do not know when to stop bedazzling) and ruffles (no one deserves to go through life looking like a walking Pringle) from thrifted clothing and changing fasteners (aka buttons).

Posted to Dr. Todd Grande (RE: Indictments on Rust shootings) Uploaded to You Tube 01/21/2023

I agree with Dr. Grande, in that Alec Baldwin the actor is guilty morally, but he is not guilty legally. However Alec Baldwin the producer's legal responsibility seems less clearcut. He was in charge of budgetary line items along with being frequently present on the set. So even being a self-absorbed narcissist (I am probably being redundant) his claims of ignorance of 2 huge issues seems odd. There were known staffing problems (armorer had 2 jobs thus limited time with weapons) and many employees had a long commute from the secondary hotel (stars and higher-ups were housed closer to the actual set) so they were frequently sleep deprived. There were 2 very loud gun "accidents" which were prior to the 3rd one that killed Halyna Hutchins. Alec Baldwin's claims of ignorance or "not my job" will not go over well with jurors or a judge.

I agree, this is all about buzz, product advertising, brand recognition. While a trip to Dubai is problematic for other reasons, assuming the invitees behaved themselves (regarding local traditions) I think that Tarte made a smart move. I would not be surprised to learn (I have zero info on this) that due to local culture, Tarte suggested or even encouraged the plus one be Mom or an Aunt or older sibling. As Morphe has found out pining your hopes on a few brick and mortar stores along with only 2 or 3 influencers can bite you in the make up bag. Perhaps due to the chatter online regarding this trip, someone shopping online or in-store, may not find their fav shade in their usual brand so Tarte may be purchased as a "oh I have heard of this brand" substitution.

While the unnatural (for our species) isolation due to the quarantine is a big factor, I have been noticing more people "losing it" around 2015 when a certain public individual who often skews orangey yellow no matter what filter is being used, began to campaign for presidency. Social media funneled people into them vs. us corners. The quarantine and COVID-related stress and fear simply added the accelerant to that murky malignant mix.

Abby is correct, with masks, disinfectant and of course delicious snacks (you are not getting a box of Pocky or mochi into most pockets) the bag is here to stay. Hopefully Janet Danahey has been cleared by mental health professionals who have indicated that she has acquired impulse control and cares for others so that she is no longer a threat to society. I am not sure of what kind of income she could earn, but setting and funding 4 scholarships in the names of the victims might be a start to reintegrating into society.

At 24 she still seems young enough to be given a pass for a few epic fails in PR. In 2022 she complained about being an influencer while also being a professional makeup artist. Now in 2023 we have false lashes gaslighting incident. That is 2. Ok so Mr. Santos now has to (1) attend the Horace Mann School (college prep school in the Bronx, NYC, US), (2) graduate Baruch College with a double major in economics and finance, (3) Give a disabled vet the money Santos supposedly raised for an ill service dog (and another service animal as the ill dog died), (4) find a TARDIS to go back in time to make his grandparents convert to judaism (he is from a Catholic Family) to be affected by the Holocaust, (5) get employed on Wall Street (specifically at Goldman Sachs & Citigroup. This is less than half of what Mr. Santos has to "clear up".

I have done the same with a smaller thing,  lost it, re-purchased it on Amazon, gone to put it away and magically have the "lost" item reappear. I have to admit, I have never lost something that weighed in the 4-figures. Well unless one counts the car that I parked on level 3 of large parking garage insisting to my companions that it was on level 4. Basically took a mutiny to actually locate the vehicle.

I did not even know it was out. I was doing my typical search on Netflix to find hidden gems as this streaming service seems to follow an odd mission statement of inserting unique, quirky and intriguing content with seemingly no PR (at least that reached me). I sat down intending to watch one episode. By 6am, I had binged it all. I loved it! Adding humor within an intelligently written script to science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, whatever genre and I am so in. I highly recommend this series. Even knowing nothing about Charles Addams or his graphic comic or any video format material, is not necessary but knowing some background does add extra spice. While Jenna Ortega was the standout, I also thought Christina Ricci's role was amazingly funny and well-acted.

I want to state here that I still respect both critics (and of course Alonso!) and look forward to their reviews. I realize that I am preaching to the choir but everyone needs to chill out and rage against things that threaten one's life. However a TikTok challenge that involves destruction of school property (ironically paid for by their parents' taxes) to me points out an adolescent who has fallen through the cracks of the educational and medical systems. Will Smith is an excellent actor. He has used "you know" in past interviews. The repetitive use of that phrase in this interview does seem unusual, even if deliberately used as a delaying technique. The Oscar telecast of March 27 2022 was no one's cookout (using Mr. Noah's analogy). This event was broadcast live and transmitted globally. I agree with Mark Bowden, the best/fastest way for Mr. Smith to return to his pre-March 2022 image is to give a clear, brief and final response to the question, "Why?" When Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock, he not only lost his judgement and reputation that night, he also lost his right to privacy as any of us would as the aggressor in this situation.

Both wounded, both stuck in a child-like narcissism due to events in their early years. Both wanted a change. I was not surprised when Harry married an "outsider" I use the term "outsider" to categorize Meghan's nationality and lack of royal connections who would probably have trouble dealing with her new family. With a 5 second search Meghan could have read reams of data on the Windsors. Neither Harry or Meghan did their homework before marriage. However now, again like young children, they are not sure they have what they want. Fame and royal treatment or quiet and comfortable anonymity, they do not know. FULL DISCLOSURE: I did not watch these first 3 episodes on Netflix. I do admit to watching their full Oprah interview. As Harry & Meghan now have two young children, I hope these 2 "adults" will grow...up for their family's sake. Money permitting (I believe Harry has a book deal😧) they should try to retire into something that is hopefully not interesting to social and news media. We all need some rest.

The problem addressed in Jo's very relatable video, is that this is a two-pronged problem that involves medical training and cost. Medical training should emphasize diagnosis, problem solving, listening skills, a thorough (not just having a patient check boxes on a form) interview and a final item on my "wish list" would be encouraging a touch of Sherlock Holmes (thinking outside the box) methodology for all wishing to enter the field of medicine. The second problem is the exorbitant costs and availability of medical testing, treatment and care. Answer? I have none except that instead of grouping all teens into one category of narcissism, take the time to actually watch and listen to them. Yes probably some are doing it for clicks, but even those deserve scrutiny to answer the question, why.

Umm, I am just beginning this video, but 5 more? Hmmm. How about this, you guys watch the rest of the series. Make one 35-45 minute video using short, relevant outtakes (regarding evidence of truth or fabrication) for the subscribers to watch. The Behavior Panel is a group of 4 trained interrogation and body language experts with super deductive skills who can easily absorb "the punishment". The subscribers can then just bathe in the intellect, skills and perceptive reasoning of 4 highly professional behaviorists. Another benefit, diminished danger of copyright strikes from Susan or her 'bots.

The quarantine was necessary so as not to overload hospitals and clinics. Not expecting an increase in societal and mental health issues due to this isolation (not to mention the newly occurring prevalence of a lack of childhood immunity to a common respiratory virus)  is a level of incompetence that we, as a nation, cannot afford. Yes gun laws should be enforced more widely and strictly, but many of these mass murderers had long-standing, pre-existing mental and/or behavioral issues that were never addressed. Help and attention for all people is as necessary, or even more so, than new gun laws.

This is a nightmarish combo of all of my family reunions, your parents' slide show of their vow renewal/honeymoon trip and the 1993 film "Groundhog Day" (this documentary was much less entertaining). Were any of these politicians and advisers who participated in the election saga from November 3 2020 - January 6 2021 (who are attorneys) even indicated for malpractice? Or do we have to wait until a Girardi (massive fraud) or a Murdaugh (generational misuse of power and apparent murders) appears? The way to avoid being over-regulated by U.S. government is for bar associations to become more proactive rather than waiting for their members to commit capital crimes before censoring or disbarring their members.

I do not watch the show, but the black and white dress and the blazer with jeans are my favorites from the clips shown of season 3. I should do research, but have you ever compared Emily with a similar-aged/employed individual in a French series, at least in visuals (copyright permitting of course)? Emily's outfits, especially as shown in the video clips from earlier seasons seems a bit cartoony. However I am not expert in or even a beginner regarding fashion. I did not even start wearing recycled clothing from traditional (aka not fast fashion) brands until 2019. I do like classic fitted shapes in neutrals. Although I must confess that every time Iris van Herpen has a show published online, I am there riveted, wishing I had the cash and physicality to get and to wear one of her creations!

This video clarified many points of the case for me. I had not kept up with the trial, so I had been under the assumption that this was an accident. Megan is lucky to be alive and well. At best this was an abuse case. However a loaded gun in the hands of someone less than competent could have made this a first degree murder case. It is disappointing that Tory Lanez's friends and family do not understand (as I now do thanks to Natalie) the crime that was committed over 2 years ago.

Posted to Gold Shaw Farm (RE: Climate Change, low levels of snow in Vermont) December 25 2022

While climate change should not be a political issue, unfortunately it is in many areas of the U.S. I try to vote for people who believe in science (sounds like a "duh" moment but some politicians' views are scary). My clothing is mostly (probably 85-90%) purchased from online and physical thrift stores. I use public transport when possible, but it is not always an option. The future is somewhat scary. We need more industry and political leaders to see the reality. QUESTION, on a more local view, what will an increase in weather changes mean for small farmers regarding production and its accompanying costs? I am thinking of all the negatives in the environment such as pests (harmful insects, explosion in the numbers of rats and mice), diseases of plants (fungal and bacterial) and as was mentioned even over-abundance of deer.

Adding to this analysis, I wonder if the lies of yesterday have become the "truth" of today? I put truth in quotes because at this point after being exposed to the media and to professional counseling, Casey Anthony may have either deliberately or subconsciously rewritten her own history into something more palatable than being murderer. Hearing additional analysis might help determine the difference. Admittedly a privacy issue, but it would be interesting to hear from teachers, doctors, caretakers, classmates what the young child that was Casey Anthony was like in daily interactions.

I have no connection to the movie industry. That being said, I too feel that it is weird, strange, odd and almost disturbing that this film be finished with all the same staff. Had Halyna Hutchins died in a car accident or from a disease then the work being completed would be a definite homage. However, she died at work on that film set due to incompetent and underfunded supposed experts whose jobs specifically involved keeping all people on set safe. Each one of those "experts" failed and should never work on a film set in that capacity. As an actor, Alec Baldwin can and could claim innocence (in spite of being on set for past multiple movies where weapons were present). As a producer, I am not so sure. Can one be an "honorary" producer without liability? Was he so self-absorbed the problems on the set were invisible to Mr. Baldwin? As Emily often says, "I have questions."

I think the Gucci ad campaign probably would not have elicited the furor without Balenciaga's really BIG misstep. It is doubtful that celebrities on the red carpet or their PR team posting on Instagram will be proudly identifying any outfit and/or accessories as coming from Balenciaga. Forget incinerating your trainers, just sell them on Depop or TheRealReal and maybe donate the cash to a charity. What will hurt these fashion companies is when celebrities, influencers and just plain wealthy people avoid wearing Balenciaga product in public, that will hurt financially not to mention damaging the rep of a luxury brand. The parent company of Balenciaga and Gucci is Kering. Kering is a publicly traded company with stockholders. I would imagine the next stockholder meeting will be more eventful than usual. As usual, money will be the factor for change, not ethics or morality.

Although I am not living with an ostomy, the description, hints, care and practical advice detailed in this video is comprehensible and thorough. From personal experience of being released from hospital care, shaking my head to the medical personnel yes I understand, getting home and caring for myself was a major shock (but a temporary one). I very much agree with the advice voiced in this video. Keep learning, do not be afraid to ask the same question multiple times and do not be put off if answered tersely. Even medical personnel can have a bad day or be skilled in techniques but not bedside manner.

Posted to Heavy Spoilers (RE: 2nd Knives Out Film, "Glass Onion") uploaded to You Tube 12/24/2022

I did sense who the "big bad" was early on. I felt that the pattern of a certain actual billionaire with seemingly no plans except to mess with people fit this film's portrayal almost too well. It was a tell. However that did not stop me from enjoying the movie. Glass Onion had more moving parts than that wacky puzzle box. This movie was fun and refreshing after watching innumerable films with lots of spandex, capes, tights, crowns and drama. Hard to say which movie I preferred. Glass Onion being "the second" in this series does take away the novelty. I suppose that makes me lean a bit more to the first movie, but only very slightly. This video did a great job finding the Easter eggs. Minor question, I wonder were any of the scientists/board members in the Zoom meeting symbols/avatars for anyone we would recognize?

I came for the utterly bizarre story, but stayed for Dr. Grande's erudite, educated and entirely entertainingly elucidated energy in speaking the words, "TikTok". As for the TikTok talker, after consulting anonymous (aren't they all) spirit guides, I feel that there will be lots of professionals in this TikTok talker's immediate future such as (but not limited to) lawyers, judges, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and maybe even a few people in uniforms licensed to carry weapons.

Posted to Uncivil Law (RE:TikTokPsychic) uploaded to You Tube 12/29/2022

TikTokPsychic, sounds like an oxymoron to me. Anyway being a fan of movies and streaming videos featuring the supernatural, I will offer my absolutely non-expert amateurish opinion. Any dreams, card readings, viewings are considered to be simply symbols or representations not actual facts (as in a documentary). In other words, if the cards said HISTORY, perhaps the intent was that one or more of the victims had a "history" with the killer, not the info that the head of the college's History Department committed the crime. I would love to hear the TikTokPsychic's opinion on Santa Claus, Sasquatch and the Easter Bunny.

I enjoy long form videos like this one. It is such an entertaining way to learn, what not to wear...in a particular century. I know it does not show generosity of spirit or gentility on my part, but I am here for the explanations on the movie/series insertion into the categories, "They tried...the affectionate variant" or "This ain't it".  The pain of the particular expert when faced with Party City armor or anachronistic hair styles does me giggle. High praise to all the participating experts and especially Bernadette who shows her expertise in administration along with fashion history. All involved belong in category of "Tis Peak".

Posted to Spill Sesh (RE: Logan Paul scam) uploaded to You Tube 12/30/2022

The internet is a wild and random place. A person can get "cancelled" for one opinion or be like Logan Paul and get innumerable second chances. Perhaps there is still room for growth and maturity in Logan Paul, but currently he seems to still be the individual who committed that thoughtless, utterly stupid act in the Japanese forest in 2018. He did not (and probably does not) understand the concept of consequences. Invest or do business with that individual? My advice is first find an independent expert and an attorney before committing to anything. Remember, caveat emptor.

OMG does he really have an episode in January 2023 entitled "Impulsive"?
