MAY 2023

Posted to Hoeg Law (RE: Speech Language Pathologist - Part 4 - Stroke Series)  Uploaded 04/28/2023

I have seen the damage a stroke can do, but never realized how many professionals were involved in the rehabilitation process. It is amazing to see the wide variety of skills required from medical professionals. Survival seems to be the easiest part of the process for the patient. Reviving and relearning so many skills takes a high level of dedication, optimism and tenacity by all (patient, family and therapists) touched by this massive event. Looking forward to learning more in the next video.

I love these historical travels through the lives and careers of designers. This a good reminder that a talented designer will send their line down a runway with echoes of their personality and their history for good or bad. In the discussion of separating the art from the artist, I have not found an answer that applies to all cases. I guess we just need to keep having that discussion, especially when the art is present. Thank you to Luke for issuing this timely and well-prepared video.

Ah Jeffrey Epstein, the poison that keeps on giving (apologies to those with that name who were not partners with Ghislaine Maxwell). Epstein's method of operations was making appointments with everyone whom he thought was powerful, wealthy and well-known.  Epstein used these names as passes to other names who might become "clients". Of course what one of these black book names said, that they knew Epstein's crime, that he had been punished and should be forgiven is beyond naive. In the type of crime that Epstein was convicted of punishment won't cut it, even years of therapy probably will not 100% eliminate repetition of that crime. And yes, I am emotionally exhausted even without wearing that eponymous shirt.

Posted to HauteLeMode (RE: Met Gala 2023 - part 1) Uploaded to You Tube 05/02/2023

I love theme issues regarding the MET Galas. My opinion is that there is a secret memo, email or text going out to stylists to warn them NOT to research anything related to current Gala's theme. This gives everyone weeks, months to discuss who wore what and why thus keeping the MET in the conversation and social media. I respectfully disagree about Rihanna. I thought she and A$AP Rocky were on-point, satisfied and lent homage to theme of this Gala.

Posted to  Spill Sesh (RE: Met Gala 2023) Uploaded to You Tune on 05/02/2023

I never watch the Gala live, I wait 24-48 hours as the commentaries are a lot more entertaining (this one included) than the event itself. The majority of attendees never get the theme correct. I do not like red (what is with that carpet color) carpet interviews. They are more cringe than coherent, even if everyone is trying to be humorous. As for advertising the labels worn, that is what Instagram is for. Advertising the celebrity's latest movie, product, podcast, album or whatever, that is what TikTok and Twitter is for. I admit that I laughed at Jared Leto's "mascot" outfit. Choupette should sue for copyright infringement.๐Ÿ˜‰ Leto's backup (black cape) outfit was just blah. I did like Doja Cat's interpretation.

Posted to the Lawyer You Know (RE: Dr. Lewis Testimony in Stauch trial) Uploaded 05/03/2023

Dr. Lewis may be finding words difficult due to that conflict (contractual obligations to the defendant vs. professional ethics) that Peter mentioned. I am not an expert in anything, but when I am conflicted about a topic that I am discussing my words do not flow smoothly. This conflict may even cause me to have a slight stutter (not evident in my daily convos) and a case of "word salad". I would have thought that an expert witness would have more control than I do under stress.

Posted to Sierra Schultzzie (RE: SKIMS Swimwear) Uploaded to You Tube 05/03/2023

Everyone looked great, but as was said, these were supposed to be SWIM suits not instagram suits. That is not inherently bad, influencers do need to post photos. My problem is with the prices of the SKIMS line, you should be able to do more in these suits then simply look attractive for still photos. Just to prove that I also have fallen to fashion (1) I have bought shoes with heels so high walking was almost impossible, (2) worn a skirt that was so short that when I sat down it took me an additional 30 seconds to arrange the fabric so as not to get arrested for indecent exposure and (3) the cliched trope of bending over forgetting my top was low cut. All of those pieces looked great in photos and great standing still, but not up to the challenges of daily life...such as moving or sitting.๐Ÿคฃ

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Meghan and Harry and Charles' coronation) Uploaded 05/032023

Very good reading. It corroborates so many aspects of Meghan and Harry's life. Meghan's half sister had sued Meghan for defamation, but I thought that law suit was dismissed? Meghan and Harry are an odd pair. I am sure that Meghan represented escape as much as a life partner to Harry.  Being a Royal is all Harry knows, but at the same time he is angry at that system. That conflict worsened with the sudden death of his mother (Princess Diana) when Harry was 12.  Meghan was only trained to be an actor. Harry was only trained to be a prince. So if Meghan turns up in a cameo role at the request of a famous director (maybe Tyler Perry, he was the one who lent Harry and Meghan a home when they first arrived in America) I would not be surprised. Basically they are two adults with 2 children who are in need of a career which can financially support the family.

I think the court should offer this individual a plea deal to avoid prison and accept a mandatory 1 - 2 years in a psychiatric facility. This action may not be within our legal system, but her behavior seems to indicate a personality who will probably repeat her antisocial behavior or do even worse harm. She needs professional evaluation if for no other reason than the safety of her young children.

Posted to The Hollywood Attorney Community Page (RE: Post 05/03/2023--writers [WGA] strike)

I do enjoy your content, even though I missed several live streams (directly attributable to my disorganization and odd schedules, definitely not disinterest in this channel). I would be very interested in the history, issues and probable outcome to this writers' strike. The primary issue is residuals right? I am wondering if when a writer does a screenplay or tv series or streaming series or movie if the copyright could be shared with the creatives so not 100% owned by a studio or by a streaming service? Could this work? How would it be maintained to avoid "creative accounting"? As of now, writers have zero ownership of their creative work which seems unfair and not the case in entertainment fields such as art, music, theater and books. Also how could an AI writing app affect writers and should that be part of their demands before returning to work?

Posted to Hoeg Law (RE: Stroke Series part 4) Uploaded to You Tube 05/04/2023

I never thought of the fact that the first week or so at home after the hospital but before outpatient therapy gears up is a difficult time psychologically. It is obvious that one must reno the environment before the return, but the emotional/mental state can be forgotten. Thank you so much for the reminder and this whole series. I know for the moment (well, you know You Tube) these videos are all stored in one place, but this information should be "packed up" and distributed to those who see stroke patients first, the hospital care givers. Maybe as a title, "Well now you have had your stroke...what do you do next." Yes a little flippant, but it is flippancy sent with affection. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think that all of my questions are answered (well except all queries regarding the birth and nature of our universe and the multiverse). Looking forward to the apartment tour.

Posted to Abby Cox (RE: Polaire) Uploaded to You Tube 05/05/2023

I never heard of Polaire, but recognized those waist images. Beyond irony that modern day has made her the poster child of the "dangers" and pain of corsets with her literally using that unusual physical aspect as shock value in her own era. The "slavery" situation reminded me of certain social media influencers whose actions are directly designed to produce more clicks by negative attention towards an outrageous situation. Nothing is new, whether imaging filters or shock value news.

Posted to The Behavior Panel (RE: Markle Family Interview) Uploaded to You Tube 05/03/2023

My takeaway from this interview (and ones featuring Meghan Markle), is that this is a family with all of them, most likely Meghan included, having traits of intransigence, single-mindedness, need to be correct and somewhat stubborn. These are traits found in many families. There is a reason that many of us find other places to be on holidays and family reunions. However, most of us do not have our family issues being exacerbated by social media, news media and most of the planet who find our personal lives so fascinating and click-bait worthy or have relatives who sue us for defamation.

I am surprised at the lack of insight, knowledge and seemingly inability to talk fluently in her field of expertise by this expert witness. I have not watched that streaming doc on this subject, but if this doctor does have a problem with linear explanation why is she THE expert witness for the defense. Why didn't she have an assistant help her with the paperwork and organization?

RE: AITA, assuming this is a true story (can be some creative writers posting in AITA), this is a red flag which is so huge it could totally cover the 70/30 home in question. It is stressful planning for a wedding, but making this lie part of a speech going to friends and family in attendance is not acceptable.

Posted to antphrodite (RE: Writers Strike) Uploaded to You Tube on 05/05/2023

Good reading. I agree this is ugly and will not end well for anyone. All I can think of is that when a script is used (purchased, not necessarily filmed), instead of the copyright entirely going to the studio/streaming service, a percentage goes to the writer(s). The way books and theatrical productions operate with multiple copies or shows. So the more the product is used/shown (aka residuals) on traditional tv, streaming services,  or theatrical movies, the bigger the checks are for the writers. "Creative accounting" could still be a problem for the writers, but at least then, they do not now, they would have at least partial ownership of their scripts.

Unfortunately 7News Spotlight did some very heavy editing, so I am not sure if they made her come off more clever than she actually is on purpose, for clicks. Lady Victoria Hervey would have made an excellent wife for Andrew or even Charles. She will never deviate from the party-line of "The Firm" (a nickname for the British Royal Family) or purposefully escape as Harry and Meghan did. Lady Victoria will do as she is told by those in power to whom she wishes to remain loyal.

My favorite is the coat as I am always affected by excellent tailoring. I intend to use Nicole's phrase that, "all cosplay is a work in progress" at future con's. It is a positive affirmation of the whole process of dressing up or dressing differently. Anna Wintour should save a ticket for Nicole Rudolph for the 2024 Met Gala as Nicole ALWAYS researches themes and history.๐Ÿ˜‰❤๐Ÿ‘ผ

I know of Dylan, not as a follower or as a fan, but because of all this kerfuffle about a beer that I am told is not even all that enjoyable (but that is hearsay). All this anger at a transperson who happens to be a social influencer is odd in that it is SO hateful SO vehement SO personal. I mean why waste all that energy regarding someone you do not know, will probably never meet, who has no ill will towards you or influence on you? It was pointless when we were children in middle school and is even more so as adults. I hear that the VP of Marketing for Bud Light is on "extended leave", talk about euphemisms! I have to admit, forgetting the whole trans issue, when I think of Bud Light's demo, a slender carefully coiffed young woman usually in full makeup does not run through my head. Probably just me.๐Ÿ˜‰

I am not sure what that says about my visual abilities, but I did not realize that Mina was in all white until close to the end of this video.๐Ÿ˜‰

While I did like a few of Gwyneth Paltrow's movies (Proof, Shakespeare in Love), I was not what I would call "a fan". I did watch most of the trial. Mina is correct, it was an interesting watch as no one had died, no one was abused and the expert testimony was fascinating. The plaintiff was not a very good witness no matter what he was wearing (suits, I think, but he was absent during much of the trial). I had not thought about Gwyneth's court clothing until this video, but Mina is correct Gwyneth did look comfortable and confident without being overly made up or dressed. Had Gwyneth showed up in MET Gala attire, that might have caused her to lose, but love her or hate her or be apathetic towards her, in this trial the facts were on the side of Gwyneth Paltrow.

As much as I enjoy the stories, I enjoy the "outtakes" such as the "indelible" moment just as much. I live in the New England area, admittedly I am not extremely well-coordinated but I have tripped and fallen over numerous stone walls which have been left to naturally return to their roots (sorry really bad mixed metaphor). Excellent analysis by Dan Murrell of this complicated issue. I think that he may have found the data that could scare everyone into resolving this strike. That data was that list of quite expensive films (Quantum of Solace, X-Men Origins Wolverine, Terminator Salvation and Transformers Revenge of The Fallen) which were rushed out due to the last strike. No one, not the accountants of the Entertainment industry down to us consumers want to see that mess repeated. Thank you Dan you rock (in an Entertaining way of course).

I admit to being curious about the collection which shows the power of PR as I am not a follower of either Kim K or D&G. Just my interest indicates that maybe it is not so much about selling units but in selling the names of Kim K and D&G. If I am correct the advertising department of D&G is being devious but clever. As for the pieces, well the first looks like old fashioned shape wear from the 1950's, the second looks a bit like "Is it cosplay or is it clothing" and the third well since the wrong size was sent plus this reminds me of one of the affordable wedding dresses that is also a no-go for me. However like other comments, thank you for buying these items to alleviate our curiosities! BUT, the butterfly dress is now in my head...how about finding affordable dups for that style/design?

Posted to Dr. Patricia Berry Psychologist Responds (RE: Psych Expert-Letitia Stauch Trial) 05/07/2023

I agree with not doing continuous coverage on the Bryan Kohberger case. I watched most of the Darrell Brooks trial and his lack of empathy and seemingly most humans emotions other than self-preservation (of his ego I assume) was difficult to watch. Although there was one day (while in time out which occurred multiple times) when he began arranging boxes and piles of papers as a barrier around himself. I admit it, I laughed but then felt horrible with myself. I do understand that lengthy coverage can help people cope.  My uneducated guess is that absorbing all this data may be a way of "protecting" yourself and those you care about with all this knowledge. We all just "try to make sense of the chaos" to stay calm.

Posted to The Hollywood Lawyer (RE: WGA Writers' Strike) Uploaded to You Tube 05/09/2023

Would a copyright (division of ownership) percentage help distribute more money to writers or would "creative accounting" negate that distribution? A writer of a book, a painter/sculptor/creator of a piece of art gets reimbursed for the original and the copies. I would imagine few if any writers participate in the financial success of the movie or series that they helped create beyond someone at the level of a James Cameron or a James Gunn. Would an ownership share, even in single digits, of the script, or treatment or whatever give the writers at least some of the royalties that they are requesting? As for AI, admittedly that is a future concern. However for now AI, or even humans, who try to duplicate a hit movie/series script's tone usually end up producing movies or series that do not make a profit or even get their costs back.

First I believe "the creator" was more problematic with females, so another experience by Josh Peck in that situation is quite plausible and his recollections valid. Second this interview could have been used in court by individuals/entities unhappy with that certain portion of Jennette McCurdy's book. I wonder what Josh Peck meant by "she owed us", I am guessing it is because the interview was never aired? In which case it sounds like now, he realizes why McCurdy made that request. Actually, I am surprised that there was not a pre-interview agreement that Nickelodeon and "the creator" would not be mentioned. Seems like neither side had a grasp on the legal problems that could ensue if that interview was published online.

Whether it is a mascara product's efficacy, a foodie's food intake or people "forgetting" that they are being sponsored, going to social media and expecting 100% of the content to be real will usually end in disillusionment and disappointment. There is an old trope that says "caveat emptor" or let the buyer beware which implies that research is necessary before accepting claims of stores and manufacturers. My latin is nonexistent, so I will just say it in English; let the viewer beware.

Politics got us off to a slow start regarding COVID. However U.S. curriculums weak in science and mathematics was the growth medium for the U. S. population's ignorance, superstition and distrust of medical personnel with a large portion of the U.S. population expecting instant treatments and a cure. Advances grow from months and years of trial/error research. Was COVID handled well in the U.S., not nearly as well as it should have been. The best we can say, is that it could have been far worse. Posted to Justine Leconte officiel (RE: MET Gala 2023 - theme: Karl Lagerfeld) Uploaded 05/10/2023

It is ironic that one of the simplest themes (a designer and his body of work) was very controversial. It is not easy to separate the art from the artist. I do not have an answer to that issue. Were I rich and invited I would have gone to the MET Gala. On my social media sites, I would indicate that I am giving donations to various charities such as a #MeToo group to assist SA victims and food disorder clinics to help those who cannot afford therapy. Karl Lagerfeld thought the #MeToo movement was silly and had no problem indicating in public whom he believed to be overweight. This way I could enjoy my gown, have fun and make a statement, all in one night. BTW if anyone wants to go down an internet rabbit hole, research Coco Chanel's personal history during the German occupation of France in the early 1940's. Maybe do not do that. Simply stand back to admire the art and try to be better humans.

Were I able to make a living in Japan, I would move there in a second assuming my animal roomies could come with me. Dr. Lewis' controversial views are probably well-known in the mental health community. Her insistence of being right regarding her theory about murderers, matched with her argumentative style in court made her a witness that the defense knew would never waiver, never deviate from her own confirmation bias regarding her theories. However even with the sections that flow unedited, the amount of points to work off of are sufficient. Full disclosure my opinions concerning this defendant is that unless the comment is praiseworthy and positive concerning him, he will habitually, continually lie. While this is an attribute of many politicians, no matter their party, usually they will break up their word salad format with some truth on the side. Oh Disney corporate may disguise the price hike using tiers, but to all intents and purposes, while it might be prorated over the next few years, subscribers will pay to refill those gold coffers in the Disney castle with lots of fresh, bright sparkling coin.

Addendum for a request from "relief from confession of judgment in Satterfield case" adds yet another even uglier twist to this mass of lies. A century of omnipotence of the Murdaugh family in their South Carolina community has resulted in this? Wonder what Darwin would make of this seemingly negative evolutionary process of one group of humans. However I am less philosophical, I wonder what dirt Murdaugh has on "his friends" to get them to participate in all of this.

Yes, my mind fast-forwarded to a relationship issue regarding family. Bad on me.  Hopefully the reaction to the mold is what caused the flareup of psoriasis not just a reaction to the steroids. My home has a forced-air system. This is a heating system that uses air ducts and vents to distribute conditioned air throughout the home.  Head aches, colds abounded for seemingly no reason. Guess what we had forgotten to do...clean all those vents and change the filters in the circulation system. So again thank you Mia, for sharing this story. This is not showing weakness or ego, it is helping.

I hate to be my HS guidance counselor, but if this individual put his imagination (lies told beyond counting) and work ethic (setting up the fake company, accepting donations, flipping those funds into his account and keeping track of it all) to ethical use we might be looking at those flying cars that people like to reference when decrying our lack of progress. Although judging by certain Tesla issues, maybe we are just not ready for vehicular advancement.

A long time ago, probably in another universe a woman by the name of Kris had two husbands (consecutively not concurrently) and had 5 girls (Kim, Kourtney, Khloรฉ, Kendall, Kylie and 1 boy named Rob (but he is not part of this story). Kris named her girls with names all beginning with the letter "K" because she thought it was kute...oops meant cute. When these wealthy and pretty girls were very very young with very very different interests, everyone knew the proper name of each girl. Now that each girl has grown up their interests have co-mingled so to speak. Now these 5 girls are not so young, but their target demo is youngER than they are. So now many of that target demo are not sure who is who, at least regarding that "K" name. Not sure if this story ends happily ever after, but I am sure Rob is happy that his name is Rob and not Ken.

Products were weird, fun and wildly expensive. I agree that no one should let media tell you to try anything to stay young. There are SO many filters out there to influence the "after" image. One product that at least has helped me (migraines etc) is a product Mia tested  (maybe 6 months ago?) called Gua Sha. It is inexpensive, all over Amazon and actually feels good which is probably the best end result any procedure can give to you. Not sure about the "youth" claims, but it makes my face feel better and helps alleviate my sinus headaches. Do not bother with the creams that some of the Gua Sha sellers try to push, any face or eye cream will do.

I have just seen the creation of the handbag that I had never imagined but wish I had in my home. Should get a mini motor and remote so that you can leave you bag in the bedroom and then say "oops I almost forgot my handbag" and then with carefully hidden remote, summon the car-bag. Ironically I just purchased a glittery pink clutch and pink quilted mini-backpack on a thrift site. Not from any Barbie-related corporation, just adorably useful and great purchases. Is there a Barbie mood spreading globally that I have been affected by? Guessing all the subliminal advertising worked? Meanwhile having a cat appear in your video (3 times) is a definite pounce towards owning a cat. Actually with a cat ownership is more defined by feline than the human in the room.

The meaning I get from this letter is that feel that her son could literally do anything and she would be there for him. Not one word comments, but the letter to me is not embarrassing, it is leading to possibility of unethical/illegal behavior. Should the strike end early, to regain those viewers the MILF production company could award prizes for viewers who can correctly total how many times these words/expressions appear in any single episode: "pink eye", "salmonella", "my truth", "my followers", "inappropriate" and "soul mate". As any third person sitting with an unhappy couple knows, you stay quiet and keep your head (metaphorically at least) down, so that would explain her lack of presence in the reading. Perhaps the hyperbolic descriptions of the "high speed" and “near catastrophic car chase" came from an ineffective PR rep?  Meghan has written her book, Harry has written his book, together they did a Netflix doc and assorted interviews were given. Now they need to become boring and quiet. The news cycle will move on to someone with more clickbait potential.

When I lived in Upstate New York, I had two pet Toulouse grey geese, Henry and Henrietta (I am not too imaginative when naming anything). Henrietta hated me and Henry loved me. At the beginning during the snow sled push to the glass igloo, being the strong veteran traveler that I am (NOT) I kept yelling at the screen, where's the toilet, don't give a __ about the view if there is no bathroom, it has been a long trip so where's the toilet, not walking back to the main hotel to go to the bathroom. Guess I know what my priorities are.

my general comment:
So bring lots of bungie cords and carabiners for those luggage sleds when visiting the Glass Igloos in Finland. While I am sure the northern lights were fabulous in person, even on my itty bitty computer screen the lights looked fantastical, alien in appearance. As your last line indicated, getting that mysterious bug while on the flight home was probably worse than Tyler missing the dog sledding or Melissa getting the mystery bug while on the dog sled. Trips are probably planned ahead, but maybe stay in a warm climate next time. Several "treehouse format" hotels in France, Thailand and Indonesia sound intriguing (and probably expensive so beware and bring the stomach meds).

Florida Statute §768.13 is known as the Good Samaritan Act. Under Florida law, unless you caused the harm, there is no duty to act to help another who has been the victim of an accident or intentional harm. The Good Samaritan Act was written to protect those who choose to take action to aid others.
I wonder if the "caused the harm" phrase in the above law, aka not notifying the Petito parents ASAP when the son arrived at the Laundrie parents' home in Gabby's van but without Gabby, could make this letter admissible in the civil case of the "heirs" of Gabby Petito mounting a viable case against Mr. & Mrs. Laundrie?

As for the judge allowing admission of the letter and disallowing the ending of this civil suit, in my (uneducated in law) opinion, I agree with the judge's ruling. This letter was creepy, inappropriate, scary and seems to show relationship issues. I would not label the Petito vs. Laundrie lawsuit as frivolous. This action may be the only way Gabby's friends and relatives ever get any kind of answers regarding this tragedy. What impressed the judge to keep this suit going, was the absolute verbal vomit of news releases from the attorney that the Laundrie family retained as a spokesperson during the search for Gabby. I think that this spokesperson has even been added to the lawsuit. Dr. Grande's hypothesis of the son getting whatever he wanted from his mother does seem plausible that he would expect that from any girlfriend. However not all individuals with a mother fixation murder significant others.

AITA: Well the sarcastic remark by teen, borderline but not the AH, mom laughing at remark also Not AH. However using the term "moron" is AH behavior and problematic regarding that word's history. I agree with other comments, do not punish the teen, present this a life lesson. If you do it at school = detention = college won't like you. Do it at work, well you are gone with no severance, no reference letters and obviously no job in the near future.

As for prosecution attorneys being double/triple booked, yes it is a staffing problem. However a lack of communication regarding case and personnel status is literally adding fuel to the fire. Since the prosecutors' level of pay is not going to be addressed by local tax payers already burdened with bills, what about more legal assistants whose sole job is to be on a spread sheet keeping track of every attorney and case status. Sure it would be a stressful job, but probably could be maintained at a lower level of payroll than adding on multiple attorneys.

Yes untrained staff, under staffing, medical expenses in general are a factor. However so is the ancient government program, I believe begun in the Regan administration (U.S.) called "The War On Drugs". Spoilers, we lost. Anyway it cemented some conception in the heads of all of our bureaucrats that we had to avoid pain relieving drugs, for any use, at all cost to avoid creating addicts. So now patients can be cured of disease, but not the pain. I know that pain is fatiguing, luckily I have not had the problem very often. I believe that Colorado has dispensaries that might be of assistance. If that is not an option sit on your laptop, smart phone or any other tech until your surgeon/primary care comes up with something that can assist with pain management. Literally make them feel your pain. Until they have to do something, they will not. It is sad, the system is broken, but as I have read somewhere we have the right to, "...Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." So go, pursue.

This letter is not embarrassing (as Mrs. Laundrie had stated), however; it is the most inappropriate, odd, weird and full of enough symbology to be a bad knock off of some Shakespearean tragedy or even worse a fan fic version of Oedipus Rex (by Sophocles) that I have ever heard. I agree with EDB, the most likely objective of this civil suit is to bring awareness to Gabby's life and death. A family Gabby knew and trusted tried to erase evidence of both, it is so brave of her parents to continue this civil suit while being so deep in mourning.

Terry Sanderson chose to ski when previously he had been diagnosed with a blind right eye. Unless he had some cybernetic implants that I have not heard of, his depth perception was affected. Such a disability would impact his judgement and ability to ski without strict observation from companions. Ironically the sole observer (or at least Mr. Ramone testified as such) is color blind and was many feet away from TS when the collision occurred. I watched most of the trial. By its last day or so, I almost began feeling sorry for this type A, formerly active man who hates aging with such a passion. There are more practical ways to fight or slow aging (ironically one of GOOP's themes), other than making  a celebrity the arch-nemesis in your story. I too, wish him well. My hope is that he moves on to never institute a law suit against anyone to ease his own disappointment and despair with the process of aging.

Posted to Observe (RE: Buster Murdaugh testimony at Alex Murdaugh trial) Uploaded 04/01/2023

This analysis quite fairly brings up the fact that not all people process tragedy in the same manner. Perhaps the stoicism/calm demeanor of Buster Murdaugh was due to (just an idea, no facts available to support this) mild mood altering meds due to this tragedy. I  can acknowledge all that, yet I am still suspicious of Buster Murdaugh's testimony. As this examination was done by the defense attorney (Jim Griffin) I am guessing that there was some (to be expected in any trial) coaching by the defense. Interesting facts: This testimony was made on 02/21/2023. On 03/02/2023, Alex Murdaugh was found guilty on two counts of murder. On 03/17/2023, the exhumation of Stephen Smith (rumors of Buster's involvement) official announcement was made. At this point, any video interview of Buster Murdaugh would be extremely interesting to analyze.

How do we deprogram such a large portion of our population? I would posit that it has to start with the Republican party itself. They would have to shake off any influence from this individual. Speaking from personal experience, trying to reach a long-time Trump follower seems pointless. I find that the only way to maintain a relationship with certain family members is to avoid any discussion of politics, elections and above all never mention the name of the man who was elected president in 2016 and indicted in 2023.

For my bio, I would not even mention disability, except maybe a very brief statement such as "my leg was amputated ___years ago, due to an accident" I feel many relationships start with he, she, they "look" friendly, "look" happy, "look" confident with the commonality obvious. Yes there are weirdoes out there, something that we all have to consider for the first few meetings.

Yes the perpetrator is at fault. The parents obviously clueless. They were no doubt too worn out or somehow distracted when they let their adult child walk out of their home with an unexamined duffle bag. Gun laws should prohibit sale of weapons to individuals with a history of mental impairment without considerable documentation of medical professionals. The school could have had minimal security such as a Ring Video Doorbell with a "buzz in system" set up at an affordable cost (maybe even result in lower liability insurance for school). Along with the perpetrator; the accessory or even worse the accomplice, was the lack of effective mental health diagnosis, treatment and professional care givers/living environment. Gun laws and security are steps 2 and 3, step 1 is obvious after analysis of recent mass murderers.

I was an odd child, and am currently an even odder adult. As an 8 year instead of watching Saturday AM cartoons, I watched old early twentieth century black and white movies such as:

Rebecca (1940), Casablanca (1942), Jane Eyre (1943), Gaslight (1944) and The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). While there was a little overacting by Joan Fontaine in Rebecca (the actor was 22 while playing an extremely sheltered 21 year old so I cut Joan a break) and by Gort in The Day the Earth Stood Still (facial expression was somewhat wonky in appearance, but it was 1951 ๐Ÿ˜‰). As a "wannabe" adult, I continue to count these movies among my favorites.

BTW yes, the (OG) Pink Panther movies still make me laugh.

I agree with Jo, Ms. Owens' rant is acting for clicks, publicity, notoriety (aka fame and money). Her producer probably saw ad, said hey, good rant material. Full disclosure, I know little of Candice Owens other than she is known for her ultra-conservative views and is seemingly (by this video clip) quite fond of being a provocateur. My unproven theory (DO NOT do this at home), if you wake these people up at 3AM then ask, for example, what do you think of handicapped models?  am willing to bet that the comment what be a far less click-bait response of,  "sure, it's fine, g'nite".

Have not seen Shazam 2 yet, solely due to personal time constraints. While I know this movie should be seen on a theater screen, at this point I will probably see it when it streams. Unfortunately the pandemic did more than close a lot of theaters (obviously the death and long COVID toll is horrendous, but not the subject here), it gave people the new habit of sitting at home in sweats, not needing baby sitters, not worrying about randos at the theater who already think that they are in their living room and most importantly (at least for me) being able to pause the film when trips away from the screen are necessary. There is probably a fast food/grub-hub analogy here, but that would make this comment even more verbose than it already is. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Seriously though edit out the fun parts (interesting computer name, the Alien abduction lights, et al) and send this to Congress. Medical coverage is ridiculously expensive, usually tied to your employer and as for that $10,000 pill, just wow. I do not understand some of these copyright strikes. Movie trailers are often copyright struck. Movie trailers whose primary mission is to garner buzz, interest and get people to swarm to their local theater. It is FREE advertising when a You Tube influencer gives commentary on the trailer. As long as the Lawyer You Know (or anyone) gives credit to ABC, Court TV or any traditional news source, they are also getting FREE advertising and perhaps getting more views to their channels. So clueless and frustrating. BTW I did not listen to the press conference with the Prosecutors in the Murdaugh case, but comparing themselves to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Dwight D Eisenhower and World War II is beyond hubris. These attorneys did their job, actually could have done it better even considering the conclusion of this trial. Hey what about SLED, you know the ones who passed off Stephen Smith's death and are now in charge of that re-investigation? To which icons do we compare that group to, Inspector Clouseau perhaps? Sorry for the rant, I have been cranky since November 8 2016.

So no link will be pasted here. While modern fandom is a bit feverish and irrational at times, I think that Scott has a longing for going back to his pre 21st century days of just going to a theater, to be amazed, amused and astounded without having to produce a commercially viable product (aka "The Review"). Like everything else, I will blame this on COVID and the resulting quarantine, pandemic (now endemic) which has worn many of us down to wanting, a change to something smaller, simpler and saner.

I had not heard about this case. I would be interested in any followup. Why the fair sought to make such an aggressive (and seemingly not quite legal) move against a little girl and a goat owned by said girl is mystifying. Seems like the fair could also be liable for cruelty to animals by herding animals together in an unsafe and inhumane manner for slaughter.  Maybe the plaintiff's side could even call Dr. Temple Grandin as an expert witness.  Just a gut feeling, but this organization reminds me of a certain skier in a recent civil law suit. This particular skier (and world traveler) felt that they are smart, never wrong, never at fault, did not play well with others and never heard of the Streisand effect.

Becky, there needs to be more of these videos!!  Even at my advanced age, I am such a novice.  I feel guilty, being somewhat unmotivated to travel to brick & mortar stores or even spend hours surveilling cosmetic/skin care sites. I usually buy from Amazon. Oddly (or maybe not?) I have found ELF skin care products (serums) as effective as their pricier, more buzz'd about luxury-branded companions. I have been leaning towards Korean eye shadow and face makeup products, but Becky is very correct "caveat emptor". That means knowing the mfr, shipper, ingredients, reading reviews (with a critical eye),  knowing return policies and comparing costs. Amazon is the wild west especially when it comes to pricing. A good deal today (probably hesitate before pressing their nifty "order again" button) may not be a good deal tomorrow.

I use masking, to show (via eye contact, walking and the way I carry myself) more confidence and more purpose that I actual am feeling inside. QUESTIONS (I do not expect answers if too painful or invasive): (1) Is Jason's dementia increasing in speed along this 7 stage process, as in spending less time in less affected stages as this illness advances?  (2) Can Jason stay at stage 5 for weeks, months or even years? Due to rush hour traffic, I could not safely change lanes. I braked and kept my hand on the horn until the person plus vehicle finally moved. I considered it a win as there were no accidents and even better my latte, myself and my vehicle made it home intact.

I know that it is show BUSINESS, but filing up an aisle (notice how cookies and crackers fill up sale space by simply adding new flavors but not substantially improving the products) at a grocery store makes predictable profits for the food business. Note to studio accountants and stockholders: this methodology does not 100% transfer to guaranteed profits in movies.

Darrell Brooks is 40, that along with a string of crimes going from bad to the horrific parade murders, makes me doubtful that rehabilitation is possible. I assume "rehabilitation" allotments are something required by law. In that case, I understand there has to be money allotted. The idea of a book or movie deal nauseates me, but after seeing the multiple places that one can view or read about Murdoch, Girardi along with some infamous serial murderers, we must allow for the possibility of Brooks being paid from future entities. The lawyer for Brooks made some valid points. While respectful, he is not addressing how our  culture monetizes trauma, horrific crimes and its perpetrators, but that is not his job.

Cluelessness, carelessness and hubris are difficult to prosecute criminally, but in a civil suit against Alec Baldwin with any luck it might just go forward. I am still amazed that the film is scheduled to be completed. I know that was part of the settlement to the widower, but it just feels so wrong. The You Tube financial end is an easy solution. Before someone under the age of 18 gets their channel, the parent must set up a custodial account with limited access. The child's portion should be direct-deposited into said custodial account by You Tube, with a (probably a 10 - 30%) amount going to the parents'/legal guardians' account. No withdrawal permitted by parent while child is under 18. At 18 money could be withdrawn by child as long as parent/guardian cosigns.  When the age of 21 is reached child may withdraw money without the need for parental/guardian permission.

As for the behavior alleged in that civil complaint, that is a nightmare beyond my comprehension. The possibility of the destruction of children's lives, relationships, futures is staggering. Perhaps during discovery, facts will emerge. Although this entire case could be kept out of the public media should the court so decide.

The pessimist in me feels the armorer will be the only one to take the brunt of the punishment. Everyone else will go back to their lives as before, well except for Halyna Hutchins and her son. This case was mishandled from the beginning. That incompetence probably assisted AB more than his own attorneys. As an actor, sure not-guilty, but in his role as a producer who was an on set witness to the disorganization and chaos, he and the production company should be still held liable for punishment. Matthew Hutchins' statement is beyond weird to me. My guess is that he wants all this publicity to go away for the sake of his son. However, when this child grows up and wonders why everyone involved got away unscathed (we do not yet know about armorer) with the death of his mother and no laws were instituted to prevent this from occurring again. What will this child, now adult, have to say then?

Mental health issues contribute drastically to gun violence. Without naming those 4 shooters or even hearing them being interviewed, I would be willing to bet that all 4 have mental illnesses/conditions that should prevent any of them from possessing weapons. Very possibly 2 to even all 4 may have legally purchased their weapon. The last shooter mentioned seems like he should reside in a cell, a padded one.

Bottom line live ammo made it onto a set that was "regulated" by people who did not know how to or have the time to properly store all weapons and ammo. Apparently no one on this set could recognize live ammo. A young talented wife and mother died for no reason except for a production company that was so miserly with its budget that it hired a young woman of barely any armorer experience as a part-time armorer (she also worked for props dept.) who was hired to keep everyone safe. With the AD's plea deal, prosecutorial errors leading to AB's freedom, my guess is while Hannah Gutierrez Reed is guilty, she is only one among many who are guilty, but is probably all alone when it comes to punishment for the death of Halyna Hutchins. Sorry for the rant.

The prosecutor's office was beyond incompetent throughout this whole process. Alec Baldwin the actor should not have been indicted, however Alec Baldwin the producer was responsible. The production company hired an inexperienced armorer (Hannah Gutierrez-Reed ) and then compounded their mistake by making her part-time (the other half of her job was in props). The AD has been given a plea deal (Dave Halls, the AD was the one who announced "cold gun"). So looks like Hannah is the only one facing prison time. Yes, she is guilty of incompetence, but what about the production company who ignored previous problems on set (the death of Hutchins was the THIRD accident involving weapon fire)? The RUST production is going to resume soon in Montana. It was part of the widower's settlement. Not the conclusion to this event that I was expecting.

The mindset astounds me that an adult male with the ability to connect with anyone, chose instead a child. Julia Holcomb Misley's situation at home sounds very familiar. The basic story of a chaotic, unprotected home life echo's the victims' stories caught up in the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell ST ring. If this does go to trial and is televised, it will be painful to watch. However, for better or worse this trial's viewership would probably exceed "the numbers" of the Depp vs. Heard trial.

This interview did give me an understanding on how Fox News mutated into what it is today. The reason is all so horribly simple...money.  I feel so old and so discouraged. I can remember when I used to vote for the most relevant candidate irregardless as to party affiliation. Now I feel voting for any Republican, no matter how smart or adapt, is a vote for an organization that I feel has little contact with reality, progress or science.  I just had a thought, when Murdoch dies and his children cannot agree on Fox News control guess who might decide to buy it.

One should not use the workplace as a dating pool or worse. Of course before we all pat ourselves on the back that humanity is becoming more evolved, these harassment lawsuits are costing businesses and more importantly their insurers major money. I would guess quite a few board of directors are getting notes from their liability carriers saying fire ___ or lose your insurance. Money is power, it is also a sword that cuts both ways.

I always felt that they indicted the wrong Alec Baldwin. Alec Baldwin the actor is a narcissist, overconfident in his own abilities and is only charming while acting in some of his roles. However this actor's guilt is way down the line of responsibility. The production company tried to run this set on a ridiculous budget irregardless of the experts needed for a set with weapons and ammo. Alec Baldwin the producer and the rest of that group should have been indicted along with the AD and armorer. As of that state's legal department, as Emily said they were more political less analytical in their process. They should be ashamed of their incompetence and voted out of/removed from office.  And yes this whole case makes me angry.

Why is the father assumed to be the wronged party? Why aren't the children being believed? For older (ambulatory) children an appropriately, for child's weight and size, weighted blanket or vest can be used. Not fond of Baldwin, at all, but there were decisions by others which led the mess of live and dummy ammunition being on the RUST set. One could use the analogy of Baldwin (the actor not as a producer),  Hannah Gutierrez-Reed (armorer) and lucky (aka accepted a plea deal) Dave Halls (A.D.) as being the live bullet, put there by entities who simply did not care about anything beyond money. I doubt that current U.S. national laws (states might vary), are up to the task of legally determining the efficacy of this case. Puberty is the marker when genetic males increase in bone density and in muscle mass usually surpassing genetic females' development in those areas in that same time period. I would reduce this issue to numbers. If the child's identity choice is affirmed by their pediatrician who administers hormone blockers and a psychiatrist/psychologist along with bone and muscle numbers comparable to their chosen identity/age group then why not? There is the question of locker rooms and bathrooms as that child's identity would not match that child's anatomy. This gets much more problematic if the child's identity change occurs after puberty and/or without hormone blockers.

Since all thieves are inherently lazy taking the path of least resistance, you could probably just incorporate this strip into the more (theft) accessible hives. Have your ring doorbell (hopefully with "enhanced range" facing towards your hive). Ring doorbells are small, not readily noticeable and many people have them so again the lazy thief probably won't worry. All that being said I agree with Morgan in that we should rethink how we farm and how pollination can be made less bee-centric. I speak as yet another veteran of trying to get insurance to pay for what they promised (in print) in their nifty little booklets sent out at insurance renewal time. I fully believe that this part of insurance companies are deliberately failing consumers due to low staffing, rapid turnover and even lower pay.  There are outliers who process claim questions efficiently and accurately. One time I actually got HR to get a claim paid by "yelling politely" at the insurance carrier. However I no longer work at that corporation and not every employer will battle for you to be reimbursed. Currently when there is an issue, I am online reading through the most boring, badly written yet the most important when you are ill, documents ever written. Even tech manuals and IKEA directions are easier to follow. It is almost a rush when you catch insurance companies with their own "small print". So my advice is read the relevant documents as if you were taking a mandatory course at school or trying a case in court.

I know thrifting is best but purchasing the emerald green corduroy was the right choice. My favorite part (not counting seeing a human wrestle with a rolling chair) was the embroidery on the top. Was there any extra fabric left? If so (maybe removing faux wood) make a kind of weird curvy pillow chair top shaped in the style of the top of a Doric column or maybe more GoT-ish, only without the pointy objects? You could use velcro to attach "Doric pillow" to top of chair? No slight intended to the final chair evolution, it has much more personality than its clinical grey former self...and I have no filter.

I am so impressed by the resulting garment (not surprised as "duh" I am watching NR create). My version is not nearly as stylish, a black glittery mini skirt under which I wear bike shorts and tights๐Ÿ˜‰! However I want to thank Nicole for providing this novice sewer (aka moi ) some hints on button hole creation (just bought new specialty scissors) and placement of hooks and eyes (between layers). All that may be obvious to most, but was of enormous assistance to me. Thank you!๐Ÿฅฐ

Let's Talk IBD (RE:Making Self Sick and Growing Hair) Uploaded to You Tube 03/27/2023

Occasionally I take my meds at wrong intervals and become nauseous. It is only mild, just an annoyance. Usually we make a variety mistakes every day or as I like to call them; learning or re-learning experiences. Humans ideally should learn all through life, learning usually involves fails. Even an atom has negatives (electrons) and positives (protons), why not us multi-celled creatures? While I do not have IBD, this channel has been so helpful for my quality of life. BTW the Manuka Honey Ointment (100% Medical Grade) worked so well. Going to try the hair product.๐Ÿคž

Breakfast All Day (RE: Entertainment News) Uploaded to You Tube 03/24/2023

I have been following this "Ski" trial. It is a bit of a slog, with few relatable characters. Amazingly there was no video from the participants, the ski instructors, the ski medical patrol and even more odd, no paparazzi video. There were rumors of a GoPro video, but that seems to have sunk to the Yeti-level (Cryptid not the thermos corporation) of verification.
FYI TO CHRISTY: Not sure if it is just this ski resort or all of Utah or national, but before you ski you have to sign a waiver prohibiting you from suing the resort. So read the small print before skiing!
