If that phone call was a proposed skit for SNL, it would have been criticized as being repetitive, gibbering, irrational and just not funny. I would agree with some of those hypothetical descriptions except, not funny. That call was bats*** crazy and hysterically funny. What is not funny is sycophants who call  themselves Republicans supporting an EX-president's rage and rants due to low opinions of their own constituency. In other words, they think that we are all mindless fools. Prove them wrong, vote them out.

Twitter did Trump a favor by banning him. It prevents future tweets being used in any impeachment or state legal process. No my favorite media vs. idiot match was the one where Simon & Schuster cancelled Senator (ugh, please Missouri vote him out or issue a recall)  Josh Hawley's book. Assuming the information  is correct Trump's behavior when the riot began answers any doubt. According to information (which I do not have the source for):  (1) Trump watched the riot in progress (2) Took no phone calls (3) Did not request assistance from any security or military groups. The lack of any timely attempt to control the mob that was exhorted to march and to fight should provide insight into Donald Trump's state of mind on January 6 2021.

I am both relieved at the rioters' stupidity and depressed at their lack of any moral, never mind knowledge of criminal, code. Just a little FYI, you can delete, block or even mark it private, but EVERYTHING stays FOREVER online along with eager hackers available to crack open your "private" file. I hope that the FBI and NSA have comfortable chairs, they will be doing a lot of sitting and viewing.

I agree that Trump doesn't care about the people he incited to riot. However, pardoning these individuals might also encourage the base of his base (not a typo I am referring to those who like the Joker, just like to watch the world burn). So I agree that any formal indictments should be left until one hour after Biden's inauguration. I never had a problem with the election being in early November and yet the sitting president allowed to remain in power to do...whatever until January 21st. Now literally every hour after Biden's election has given Trump the time to further damage the U.S.

Having lived through a dystopian Alice-In-Wonderland for the last 4 years, I am guessing that Pardon-ball is probably fairly close to the truth. I mean can anyone picture Trump actually studying legal documents to find the 100 (even choosing that particular number is so telling about Trump's ego) most deserving incarcerated people. Innocence Project data anyone?...insert cricket audio here.    Also I know my college degree does not cover a vast amount of knowledge, but how can individuals like Trump progeny be pardoned before even being federally indicted or imprisoned?

This is horrible. Both the mishandling of the pandemic since literally day one ("...it will be gone by Easter..." that was Easter of 2020) and the resulting deaths.  However, it is possible that these final moments of these poor people is beyond "normal" denial. These are people who were/are not getting the quantity of oxygen that they desperately need.  As a result, there is significant impact on cognitive function. That being said, there is considerable denial going on out there with people who have plenty of oxygen yet do not wear masks and consider social distancing a myth not a need.

I was wondering about those "other" crimes. All deference to LegalEagle, but I had always felt that our courts were over burdened by lawsuits (aka SLAP suits) and overly ambitious DA's. Now I am smiling and hoping that Bannon and others get another chance to enjoy proper use of governmental expense in really big gated housing.

I knew that Peter Doocy was asking inane worthless pointless questions, but seeing them grouped is beyond cringe. I think that inadvertently Fox News has discovered another use for masks, they muffle the chuckles and giggles from the real...oops meant rest of the...reporters at the briefings.

The characters around Trump, if placed in a movie script, would be kicked out in editing for being unbelievable caricatures. It would all be funny, if we did not have so many people believing every word they utter.

I know not to challenge their beliefs (RE: Trump conspiracies) or try to talk them out of their views. That behavior makes them very defensive and highly argumentative. After that it becomes problematic. I usually default to silence and avoidance. I know that is not healthy or productive but when contact with these individuals is unavoidable I have no other option. I have the naive hope for time and daily news of improvements in the economy and health in healing the insanity.

Whether fair or not it is the enablers who allowed Trump to continue in power. Our current situation is primarily their fault. Trump was the final symptom of the disease.  While it is nice to hear the denials of former supporters, trust in their judgement and their words will take a very very long time.

It chills me to hear that there was such a concerted effort to downplay the virus. I will never understand how people can work so hard at obfuscation and misinformation. While they could have spent the same amount of time on science and truth that might have saved lives and livelihoods.

It is sad that anyone needs to apologize for feeling pain, especially in 2020. Social media can quickly descend to the depths of a mob mentality ironically by the few. No one should have to apologize for their pain. My hope, my resolution (I do not mind skipping the usual resolution failures regarding eating healthy, exercising daily or being more outgoing) is that we will show others the respect and kindness that we each need along with supporting programs providing economic assistance where needed. THANK YOU to Molly Burke, for continuing to provide content and selflessly helping all of us make it through our very long day.

Tom Cruise along with being a leading actor on MI 7 is also a producer on that set. It is that second job which I believe lead to that tirade. Tom Cruise is an excellent actor who feels that Scientology has given him the skills to mold and to manage people. While I have absolutely no evidence, only my own hypothesis, I believe that was not ranting, that was acting. Whether his motives were altruistic or financial, whether he is empathetic or not, looking at the amount of social media buzz and news articles, I think that he feels that he succeeded in this effort at motivation. He may be correct.

Pandemic 2020

A new Nobel category should be created for the individual who develops a procedure to successfully convince a majority of humanity to follow the science, discriminate between lies and truths without emotion or prejudice and realize that the scientific method allows for the acceptance of a result that may disprove the hypothesis (step 3 of that method) after multiple tests by multiple sources. In other words, that old but accurate trope, "...try, try, try again". Use of hallucinogenic/addictive drugs, lobotomies and physical/mental torture will not be acceptable as research methods to qualify applicants for this prize..

After being in quarantine (voluntary due to impaired immune system) since March 2020 and watching the infection and death stats rise, fall and rise again my sense of the world not repeating this pandemic mistake is hovering weakly between optimism and pessimism.

BTW to (with all the acuity of a quarantine brain; mine) quote a line I heard re-used in a Marvel movie (Thor, 2011), "Magic is just science that we have not yet learned." Hence both Caitlin Doughty and her sister/aunt, Anna Dhody are both witches AND scientists.

My interaction is more with Twitch gaming. However I am more of a spectator than participant. It is fun though, on a live stream, to catch something significant in the background that the player(s) did not notice. I have been watching a lot of Among Us on Twitch, but to be honest my interest is waning. It is more of a fun party game among friends than anything else. 

On all these election lawsuits, I would love to know the endgame. I cannot believe that all these individuals believe in what they are doing or that they can succeed. Is this a way to expand their coalitions for 2024? Many individuals have made a quote on democracy and those who wish to make it disappear. I like this quote by Frederick Douglass, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress." Perhaps democracy is not a static thing, but one that requires a lot of maintenance and attention. If we ignore it or walk away or take it for granted, it does indeed disappear.

Doctor Mike is embarrassed as his behavior went contrary to his inner view of himself. However based on previous videos that I have viewed, at least from 2019 on, his apology, practiced or not, indicates he is self-aware and wishes to be better. As for posting the video on his secondary channel, Doctor Mike may have wanted to apologize to only those who are long-term subscribers.  Many apologies posted via social media on a wider scale seem to aggravate not alleviate controversy. Just a general observation of Doctor Mike, he is smart, but he is also a people pleaser and someone who is uncomfortable with conflict. While not a valid excuse, especially for a Doctor, back home with his friends and family, I am guessing he just did not wish to say no. Growth is sometimes painful, but is a necessary process.

I wish there was another term instead of "dead name". It has an unhappy vibe, probably due to the "dead" portion. Why not just use: former or old or past or maybe just check a Thesaurus for more ideas. Whoever Elliot Page is now, Ellen Page is a part of the experiences that made and evolved into Elliot Page. Humans are a composite of what we were, what we are and what we wish to be. So let's go back to complaining about the economy, mishandling of this pandemic and if a certain individual living in a White House will be served an eviction order (my bet is on midnight January 20, 2021).
