I usually get blank looks on my initial report of a problem. When I restate the problem,  I see the lights go back on in the employee's eyes resulting in immediate assistance or a free pass.  I think that the job lends itself towards a hypnotic type state. So I recommend kindness and patience as these guys are TIRED and a little bored. Excepting an occasional clueless and classless audience member, I have never been disrespected in a theater.
